I have been guest at Goldhotel several times in the past months. I like the location in the heart of Friedrichshain area. The rooms must have been renewed in the past years and and really nice and comfortable. They are just a bit small, but this does not matter to me. The only thing to improve is the offered breakfast,...

This is my second visit to the hotel. On this occasion we had two single rooms of very reasonable size and spotless shower/wc. Never heard a sound for the 4 nights we were there except the tramline as we chose a front room with nice open aspect The room safe was very easy to operate. No tea-making facilities, but the...

Having lived mostly in (ex-)West Berlin, this time I decided to book a hotel for my friends and myself in the East, close to Friedrichshain, since I heard that nightlife takes place there as well as a very good friend of mine lives close. The hotel was ok, I would say nothing more nothing les, although I need to say...

This hotel is in a great location! The walk to the metro is only 8-10 minutes away and it takes you straight into Alexander Platz. Also about a 20 minute walk away from East Side Gallery. Don't be put off by the location.. its better than you think! Every member of staff we saw were very friendly and happy to...

Gold hotel is in a nice characteristic building in Friedrichshain, a populair district in eastern Berlin. This whole district has a "raw" vibe, lots of graffiti on almost every building and lots of old buildings and complexes. Though the neighbourhood offers a lot of different restaurants and bars, and does not feel unsafe at all. Really friendly staff, make you...

Very good location for visiting Berlin, close to Metro station Friedrichstrasse, 4 stations to AlexanderPlatz, which is in the Center of Berlin. Cheap parking place right in front of the entrance, using a card given by the receptionist. Good breakfast.

This hotel is a bit far from the central Berlin but there's a metro station nearby, and it is close to the East Side Gallery (Berlin Wall). The staff was attentive. The water pressure of shower in my room was a bit low in the first day. I left a note to tell them this problem and after I came...

Although the location is a bit further out of the centre, it is on the edge of a nice neighbourhood with lots of nice restaurants. I had a room at the back "am Hof" so very quiet. The lounge downstairs is nice to relax. Good breakfast.

Stayed one nigh at the Gold Hotel whilst in Berlin. On Wismarplatz which is a pleasant enough tree lined square. Gold Hotel was clean and the reception staff friendly and helpful and I had a good night sleep in a room at the back with a view over neighbouring gardens. Only problem for me was that it was a bit...

We stayed at the Gold hotel for five nights, on holiday as a couple with a group of friends. We booked the Gold Hotel as part of a flights and hotel package via Expedia, having checked out reviews here first. The hotel was easy to find, a few minutes' walk from Samariterstrasse underground station. The road itself is slightly away...

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
