Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well appointed clean hotel in central location close to S Bahn station. Short walk to Potsdamer platz and Brandenburg gate. The waiting staff were very helpful but we felt the house keeping was below expectations. Small shower gel etc not replenished and towels removed and not replaced. We would go back , but take our own toiletries next time and that’s not what you expect from a hotel of this standard.

This is a grear hotel - beautiful rooms and welcoming staff. Everything was immaculately clean. We were able to request a slightly early check in. I can’t believe how amazing the included breakfast was. We loved our stay!

This was my second time to stay in this hotel. I was impressed with the reviews on Tripadvisor and I'm glad to say it lived up to my hopes! All the staff are really friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean, the beds are so comfy and the breakfast is really delicious! The hotel is very convenient and looks out onto a nice vista of museums and old buildings. The train station is very close by and there are cafes, restaurants right next door. I ate in the Berta restaurant one night and it was one of the nicest meals I've had in a long time. Great music and really fun atmosphere too!

This hotel was immaculate! The rooms were beautiful. The bathroom stunning. The bed was the most comfortable ever! The breakfast had so much choice it was hard to decide what to have. And all of the staff were super helpful and friendly! The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the whole city as you have stations within 5 mins walking distance.

We stayed in room 107. We were early for check in and the staff kindly held our luggage. The hotel is in a great location. The room was very clean and big. We stayed for 4 nights. The bed was huge and comfortable. The bathroom had a big shower and large fluffy towels. We had some cold days in Berlin so it was nice to have a hot shower to warm up. The staff were helpful and friendly. Would have liked a small wardrobe in the room, but other than that I would say it was perfect. Also went to Berta next door for dinner and I’ve never had such amazing food in my life!

Excellent location for sightseeing. Very quiet. The staff was SUPER-helpful. The Libby is charming, but the rooms just didn’t live up to the decor downstairs. And I am so sorry to say it, but the hallways were dusty and the rung in our room had cereal crumbs in it from a previous occupant. They need to really step up their cleaning game!

The staff at this hotel needs customer service training. My family and I weren't greeted with "hello" or "welcome to the Precise Tale," instead, a grumpy desk employee said, "You can't check in before three." However, he allowed us to leave our luggage and was told that it would be stored in a locked room. We got there around 11am, and at 2:45pm when we returned, two of our suitcases were right where we had left them, still near the front door. Luckily, nothing was stolen. None of the employees apologized or even acknowledged the situation. When we got back at 2:45, the same desk clerk told us that our rooms still weren't ready and we couldn't check in before 3. At exactly 3, I asked him again if we could check in. He proceeded to give me forms to sign which I finished by 3:10. He then gave me keys to one room and said our other room still wasn't ready. Again, no apologies. Another, employee (manager?) finally came around to show him that our rooms were indeed ready. I suspect they were ready long before 3:10, but he didn't seem to know how to use the computer. In addition, while we were waiting in the lobby area soon after we arrived, someone was pushing a hand truck full of water bottle cases through the lobby area. They were going too fast and hit the frame of the doorway right where we were standing. The entire contents of the hand truck went crashing to the floor, and water and glass went flying everywhere. We got wet and had to wade across water and glass to get to the other side of the lobby. You would think that someone at the desk or another staff member would come running to see what happened. Nobody came for at least 3 minutes, and nobody apologized to us or asked us if we were hurt. I am posting the picture I took. Aside from this initial fiasco, the hotel is clean and the rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and comfortable. The best thing about this place was the breakfast. There was a huge variety of food to choose from and everything was fresh and delicious. I have never seen a breakfast spread as varied and beautifully presented. It made up for everything else.

When we booked to stay at the Precise Tale the reviews were pretty good but the recent comments did cause us some concern, however, for us our stay is excellent (actually checking out tomorrow). On arrival we were upgraded to an apartment on the 11th floor and allowed to check in much earlier than the designated time. Check in was quick, efficient and friendly. The apartment is fabulous with a bathroom (with washing machine), bedroom, kitchen (with dish washer) and sitting dining area with great views. The service is not sycophantic (they are Berliners) but it is efficient and friendly. Apartment was kept very clean and made up every day - we left the sign on the door but also told reception on the first morning that we would like our room serviced. The shower is powerful but bathroom didn't flood. Temperature outside was 30 degrees C on Monday but the air con worked perfectly and kept the apartment lovely and cool. It is very close to two S Bahn and a U Bahn station, 10 mins walk from the Holocaust memorial and 15 mins to the Brandenberg, Reichstag and Tiergarten so how anyone can say the location is poor is beyond me. Dining room is lovely and quirky and there is outside dining in the (large for a city) garden, the Berta bar is on one side of the entrance and the Berta restaurant on the other (trying that tonight so review to follow 😁) The only negatives are probably that the corridors are a little utilitarian and whilst one of the two lifts is an express lift, they did get busy in the mornings.

Would not recommend it. Hotel is poorly organised and not guest-oriented at all! Location isn’t great either, too far from the main attractions. Staff is rather unfriendly and don’t make you feel welcome.
