I stayed here over the summer with three other girls on a trip around Europe. We waited in line to get our room keys for at least thirty minutes while about a dozen Australian and English boys were yelling in the lobby. The room itself was like any other hostel. Its purpose is to be slept in--that's it. Unfortunately sleeping... More

This is the worst hotel and hostel ever. You don't want to be found dead here. We had a hotel room for two days and our cards suddenly didn't work the next day. The receptionists working at the counter were very annoyed and not helpful at all. They do not take your struggle seriously and have a big mouth towards... More

I have stayed in this hotel for 6 days and it was good. Its not your super fancy hotel but it suited my needs. There were hot water in the shower, room was fairly in good size. The mattress was a little uncomfortable. I think it will be wise for the hotel to consider changing these mattresses as thry were... More

We had a family room with en-suite toilet & shower. Good shower in a cubicle (not a wet room). You have to make your own bed, which is OK, but a bit of an unexpected pain when you arrive tired from your journey in the middle of the night. The whole place has the feel of an old-fashioned student hostel... More

After having a great experience in A&O Mitte in Berlin last year I was expecting a lot more than what I got. Theres no bathroom en suite and the state of the room was really poor when we arrived. The staff was reluctant to help us in the sense that they prioritized talking casually to colleagues instead of giving us... More

After really terrible stay in A&O hostel in Munich, I was really skeptical about staying in another A&O hostel. But it wasn't that bad. Staff was generally much more pleasant, but surprisingly the guy I wrote about in my last review from Munich, who was really uninterested to help, or generally do his job, was now working in this hostel,... The bathroom is not very clean and it has poor light and the beds are not that comfortable. Besides that, the wifi is good but only downstairs at the lobby room. It is 10 min walking from a Ubahn station. The hostel workers were very nice and helpful.

A bit disappointed, we got scammed out of a bed, not great. Very few pictures of the rooms, hence the title. Location was out of the way but close enough to the ostreutz station for easy travel into the city, and a nearby lidl is always good. Have to pay for bedsheets too

This hostel is not situated exactly centrally, but considering Berlin's massive size and the fact that Ostkreuz rail station is a few minutes' walk away and a tram line runs on the same street the hostel is on, it is quite well served by public transport and relatively convenient, while being obviously less popular and therefore better priced than the... I've been with a group this February. The staff is very professional and friendly. Rooms are equipped with bathroom and also, if there are more people in a room and they have bathroom needs they can use a public on the same floor where the room is. Internet is good in lobby and if you have some time to wait... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
