We stayed at this hotel for a week in July 2017. Great location just a couple of minutes from Checkpoint Charlie, Countless other attractions, the U bahn(train). Rooms are really modern, did not try the breakfast as we ate out each morning. Did have an...More
This was a return visit to this hotel, having stayed there one year before. Berlin has so many hotels that it's difficult to choose. This must be one of if not the most popular locations in Berlin. Literally a stones throw from Check Point Charlie...More
Location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Right on checkpoint Charlie so close to cold war attractions. very easy to get around Berlin from here and particularly to the former eastern sector. Potsdammer Platz also within walking distance and the Terror Museum just...More
I was shocked how good this hotel was. Berlin is not a cheap city, but this hotel is really well priced but offering top notch service. The rooms are more than adequate for a few days stay, but it is the staff that made the...More
Great modern hotel right at Checkpoint Charlie so easy to get to and from on public transportation. Very clean large rooms with nice amenities. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given

way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.

It depends which airport you're going to use. If it's Tegel, take a bus 128 to the station Kurt-Schumacher Platz and then U-bahn (metro) to the station Kochstrasse-Checkpoint Charlie. You can easily find both, the bus and the metro. From station Kochstrasse go straight to Checkpoint Charlie and then turn left in Zimmerstrasse. Hotel is at the right side of the street.
If you fly to Schönefeld, than the best way is S-bahn (something like city train) S45 to the station Tempelhof and there take U-bahn U6 to Kochstrasse-Checkpoint Charlie.
NOTE: if you use public transport, buy a ticket on a counter or in the office and stamp it before step into bus/train. From Tegel you need AB zones and from Schönefeld ABC zones. If you stay longer (7 days or so), you can buy 7-day-ticket which is not so expensive and you can travel all around the city (my suggestion is Potsdam). Good luck!
