My husband and I stayed here for a city break last weekend. We had never been to Berlin before and unsure of the best area to stay in but our gamble payed off! This was a great area - walking distance for all the usual attractions as well as handy for great bars and restaurants A v glamarous room as...

We booked an executive suite, which was just perfect! In addition to inspiring me to bring some of the design elements home, it provided the idea base to explore the city. In a word, Lux 11 is sleek and most certainly exclusive, but for the price, it's extremely good value. The staff and attentive and helped us book cabs and...

Cutting edge style and urban sophistication make this apartment/hotel a fitting complement to trendy East Berlin/Mitte. We chose the Executive Suite which was spacious and cleverly designed with an interior wall housing 2 flat screen TVs dividing the living room/kitchenette from the bedroom/bathroom. It feels like a modern urban studio apartment. Bright and airy with tall celings and large windows...

We stayed in the Lux for our anniversary and loved every minute of it. No maids fussing over you all the time, disturbing your restful sleep after a very late night/early morning out in Berlin. No one coming and tidying up your room whilst you're out so it feels more like your room (the bed wasn't changed in the three...

Cool design hotel which is more of an apartment place. Each room has a kitchenette. They are more hotel rooms though than apartments. All very stylish and modern. Staff is nice but as some wrote a bit overwhelmed at times. Location is the best part about this place. Perfect if you are staying in Mitte. It's not cheap but if...

I have visited the apartment house Lux 11 in Sep. 2007, one month ago. On my arrival day I realized that the hotel is not very easy to find for a person who has not been in the city befor. On the outside of the hotel are no signes which show you that you are at the right place. But...

We booked this hotel via an Agent's website, which gave the hotel an excellent review and we weren't disappointed. We booked a Junior Suite (35sqm) which had a small kitchen (2 hotplates, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and sink), fax machine, two large heaters, separate bathroom and toilet , flat screen TV and a large king bed. We had broadband internet...

Great design, comfortable rooms directly in the center. A lot of sights in the neighbourhood, bars and restaurants as well. The place to be in Berlin. The stuff was very helpful and friendly. The executive Suite we have stayed in was very luxury, clean and lightend. Absolutly great.

Cute designhotel located in Mitte, where things are happening at the moment in Berlin. The rooms are sweet and calm, and if you have a room to the backside you'll have a spacious balcony. Unfortunately the hotel has a very untrained staff that sometimes is unpolite and very inattentiv when there is a high pressure. I recommend it because of...

A nice large room. The staff were helpful but made us wait two hours to get a room because we got in before the check in time. The location is also good there are plenty of places around to eat and sit outside.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
