This small hotel is centrally located and you can easily walk to Potsdamer Platz in15 minutes. The place is small and is more like a B&B in that it does not have a reception as such, no bar or restaurant. However, it serves an EXCELLENT breakfast catering for a German traditional breakfast with the addition of perfect scrambled eggs and...

It is a nice cozy hotel close to the center, quite convenient and walking distance to the center. The hotel is hidden in the courtyard so a bit away from the main street. (where is sort of "red light district" yet nothing obtrusive, guys might appreciate it:)). I really like the historical touch.

Stayed here for 3 nights, liked the hotel which has a historic touch. Not a booring standard business hotel, but something rather unique. Personell was very friendly, but not always available as there is no real front desk. The location is a bid special. Its on a nice little dead end street, but once you leave it, you can say...

We have staid in this hotel during the wedding celebration. Hotel is ideally located in the city center and not so far from historic area of Berlin. Disadvantage is that main street is not that clean and during the night there are ladies of a light character which gives not the best impression. Great breakfast and specious rooms. equipped with...

my German boyfriend chose this place because it looked like an atypical guesthouse in a city of massive tourist hotels, and he was right. It was a bit hard to find, located behind a rather anonymous front of modern buildings (and on a street where a few ladies of the night prowled when we drove in) but it was definitely...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Begaswinkel in August this year. It is a lovely hotel with lots of character and charm. Our room (which was located in the lower ground area) was a medium size and had two large windows looking out onto a walled courtyard. Because the room was on the lower ground level it was a...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

“Avoid rooms located next to the external fire escape to the rear of the building. There was a chair and table on the landing outside our room and smokers congregated right outside our room at various hours. Unfortunately the curtains were done on the cheap - ikea jobs with no black out lining and they were also too small for the windows so very light at night time and people could see straight into the room if the light was on at night. (or if smoking right outside the room in the fire escape). - this was a real let down for the property.”
