Positives: good location, clean, good communal area, nice bar and patio, safe area, nice showers. Negatives: noisy metal beds, no wifi in rooms. Overall, one of the best hostels i have stayed at, would return.

A 5night stay was a nightmare!!! Was full of drunk young people traveling mostly with busabout crews, as was I. All the signs saying quiet after 10pm n before 7am was a load of ****!! The bar staff were not only serving these EXTREMELY intoxicated 18-24yr olds but had NO consideration for the rest of the hostel that were there...

This hostel is in a perfect location, with Alexanderplatz a 5-10min walk away with tons of shops, great walking tours with Insider tours leave leave from Hackescher Markt which is just down the road (would highly recommend these tours as well), and there is a handy supermarket and lots of cheap places to eat nearby too. The hostel itself is...

We stayed here for 2 nights. You can get your washing done for 5 euros a bag which is good value. The rooms are ok, beds pretty uncomfortable and there is no aircon so it was really hot. The courtyard is a good idea but the tables and chairs are sooo flimsy and wobbly.

We stayed here for 3 nights and I loved this hostel. It had a great feel about it in the common areas, including the outdoor courtyard spaces where a BBQ was held most days. The hostel is across the road from the TV tower and there are lots of places to eat and drink. The hostel bar is cheap and...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
