Location was really not perfect, there is no restaurants, shops or cafeterias near by. There was carpet in room, that smelt terrible. Breakfast was way overpriced, 11 euros/person is totally too much. Room was quiet, that was good.

The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom was clean and spacious. However, the place needs a fresh touch. There is no kettle in the room, so you can't make yourself a beverage. The hotel is located close to an U- Bahn station or 15 min walk to the train and bus Zoo Station.

It was already ok till the moment when I ask for the validity of the bus ticket to the airport Schoenefeld. The receptionist has told me that my ticket for AB zone is valid for my destination. But in the last stop until the Schoenefeld stop, me, my sister, my boyfriend and his sister met the ticket inspector that made a fine of 60€ each of us. Other 10 people were in our situation: they also have received the same wrong information about the ticket's validity. Is that just a case?

Pros: 1. Large room, 2. More than sufficient breakfast 3. Close by to underground, 4. Helpful staff Cons: 1. Wifi signal was bad, 2. Cleanliness was moderate (but not bad), 3. Twin room: Not one double bed (as was initially chosen) but two single ones (one next to the other)

So disappointed to see how much this once lovely little boutique hotel has deteriorated. Shabby carpet, rotten window frames, chipped paintwork throughout and more than well worn furniture. What a shame. It’s in a great location central to all. Staff very friendly.

We liked: - the quiet area - the fact that the U bachn station was very close, like max 5 min walking -taking U bachn 2 statios to the Zoological garden and changing it to S Bachn for another 4 or 5 stations, will get you to the Museum Island. - staff very friendly, they even helped us and printed our boarding passes - very comfortable mattresses - warm blankets - sparkling clean bathroom - warm room We disliked: - extremely noisy floor; every step we took inside the room was so damn noisy - thin walls; we could hear if someone was passing by our door, even though it did not happen often. Only twice. And also, because of the thin walls we heard one morning someone being loud at the bathroom, if you know what I mean - flat pillows. For me, which i usually sleep without a pillow wasn't a problem, but my boyfriend needs pillows with more volume, or otherwise he will get shoulder pain. If we will ever come back to Berlin, we will choose the same hotel. …

The Metropolitan is located in a quiet side street, about 10/15 minutes walk from Bahnhof Zoo - a major transport interchange, with a direct train to / from Schonfeld Airport (S9), so it is very convenient as a location. It is a rather quaint old-fashioned hotel, moderately priced, with conforetable romms and beds - although the rooms are a tad small. One of my pary had some issues with their room he first night, but these were dealt with promptly and effectively by yejh hotel staff, so all was good. thye hotel does not offer a bar or restaurant - although there is a good quality breakfast offering a wide range of foods. there are a number of good restaurants and bars located within a few minutes walk. I would happily return to this hotel, and if you are looking for good value in a great ocation, I would thorouhgly recommend you use it.…

Spacious room that smells musty and of cigarette smoke. The queen bed is two twin beds pushed together. The elevators drop you off between floors, so you still need to carry your luggage up stairs. Breakfast "ends at 11," but you show up at 10, and all the food is gone. The surly kitchen/dining staff, when asked if more food will be brought out, literally asked why. All that was left were a few pieces of cheese, two rolls, and some very unappetizing, pale ham. No thank you. The WiFi is extremely slow, and the range so limited that most of my colleagues were completely unable to access it from their rooms. Would not recommend this hotel. Also a bizarre experience checking in - woman at the front desk spoke minimal English, and then when our German-speaking bus driver tried to talk to her in German, she kept saying, "You are the bus driver? You are the bus driver?" And seemed quite confused. So...what language DO you speak...?…

Although this was much further away from Berlin train station than I had expected, it was close to the zoo for the following day. The staff were lovely- warm, friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable. The shower was amazing and they had Molten Brown products. Lastly , the breakfast was outstanding. In a modern restaurant with a huge choice and a lovely lady offering to cook you special things on request. Highly recommended!

We were looking for a nice hotel for a short trip to Berlin and this hotel is a good choice. As a giant panda lover, I really enjoyed a location :) it is just 15 min walk from a zoo. The U-ban is just nearby, as well as supermarkets with lower prices comparing with the city center. The staff is very helpful. We came in the evening and had to pay for parking with coins but didn’t have any. So the receptionist kindly helped us changing money and provided with detailed parking instructions. The breakfast is good, the room we had was spacious. The only minus – outside elevator that stops between the 1st and 2nd floors. It’s a challenge with huge luggage(
