Internet connection was ONLY in the reception (It doesn't work to me). Everywhere smells smoke. Building and lift are very old. They changed furniture and bathrooms. The area seems secure but there are girls on the corner. NOT recommended.

Gives a fine return for the price, in a great, central location, has nice and courteous staff, minimally equipped but has everything required for a tourist who spends most of their time outside . In the room I stayed in there was a shortage of wall sockets, but otherwise it was most pleasant.

I booked my city break last week and I found his hotel which was very cheap. I didn't check reviews, I just booked it. Then I read the reviews on here and I was shocked: how could I have booked this without checking reviews etc. So we left on Monday and I kept apologising to my partner about it... Ok,... More

Quite small hotel and room but nearly full equipped; clean sheets, fresh towel, (very) small satellite TV, etc., Hotel located near Potsdamerplatz , SONY center and Mall of Berlin. Buffet breakfast for 6.50€ is good value but if they could provide better quality coffee it would be much better. Another good thing is room was checked and toilet being cleaned... More

Hotel and rooms are dated and basic. However, for the location for a base it was acceptable as we did not spend much time in the room. Disappointed by lack of safe in the room and no WiFi - made it difficult to keep in touch with friends that were staying at another hotel to make arrangements etc. I was... More

Went on a business trip, no wifi connection at all (not even in the reception). Had to leave to another hotel and they charged me everything anyway. Don't get even near this hotel. It also looked very bad and dirty. Reception girl was very rude.

If you travel on a budget and just need a bed to sleep in, you should book a room at this hotel. The price is cheap and the room, at least the room my friend and I stayed in, was decent. I would not say "am Potsdamer Platz" (at Potsdamer Platz), though. If you take the bus to Potsdamer Platz,... More

Stayed here for 4 nights. One morning woken up at 6:30am by rude staff member who took our room key whilst we were in bed. Next day returned to our room to find the room left unlocked after towel change (thankfully nothing was taken). Day 3 walked out of our room to find awful smelling water flowing out of the... More

We were kind of forced to use this hotel.az we were travelling with a dog and this hotel was one of the nearest to.center that allowed a stay with a pet. The hotel is old and ugly but kind of cheap. But anyway I would not want to go there ones again.

I definitely not recommend Alper Hotel. Though hotel is in the center of Berlin, it can not make up for plenty of inconveniences I met there. The room was so tiny that it was hard to get to the toilet, because the bed stands just next to the doors. The lock was not always working well. When I was about... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
