Quirky little hotel with very friendly, helpful staff. Large suite for 3 instead of a small triple room. Very pleasant lounge with complimentary tea & coffee. Great location close to the railway station & town centre. Excellent value for money.

I visit Hamburg around 3 times per year to go and watch HSV and stay in St Georg area as it is near the hauptbanhof, the single room i had was on the bottom floor and was spacious and the bed was very comfortable, the hotel has a 'living room' on the bottom floor and it was very stylish with...

This hotel was quite close to Central Station, and was very comfortable. It was quiet, well furnished and the breakfast was more than adequate. There were two draw-backs. The first is the area. We wondered why the receptionist gave us directions to get to the train station which seemed much longer than we thought would be the case. It turned...

Should you need to stay in Hamburg city centre and still have a quiet room off the busy streets full of traffic, this is the place. The room was clean and cozy, although a very small (I had a proper single room). The breakfast was excellent in a quiet dining room - a real treat compared to the rushing canteens...

Nice Hotel, but not in the best area of Hamburg. We had a lovely room, nicely decorated and well appointed. Very comfortable bed, great shower, a good wardrobe and good size safe. Although the hotel wasn't in the best area, it was very well located to walk to points of interest, restaurants etc. Staff were nice and friendly and helpful.

I try to stay in hotel that are a bit speacial and don't have this standardised look. I was positively surprised by this one. Beautfiully furnished room and bathroom (with great toiletries), very clean (of course, it is Germany), very quiet. Friendly and helpful staff, especially in the breakfast room. Breakfast was good and varied, but nothing extraordinary. The central...

Hotel is located in a quiet side street in St.Georg and still only minutes away from the Central Station and Old City. The hotel has a early 19th century charme and eye for detail. Built in a former house. The rooms are medium sized, clean and ok equipped. The beds are long. The bathroom clean but not very large. The...

Very nice small hotel in a slubby area of the town. The rooms were large and comfortable and newly renovated in a classical stile. Close to the central station and underground transportation. Friendly and helpful staff.

Arrived to find I had accidentally booked two rooms instead of the one I needed, hotel waived the charge on the unneeded room which I appreciated. Staff were friendly, hotel was very clean, decor a bit over the top but not horrible, breakfast was included in my room price which was just as well as it not worth the 11€...

The Hotel City House is a city villa that was built around 1890 and has since been renovated and modernised. It is quite possibly one of Hamburg's last insider tips. The hotel is an architectural gem, situated in a quiet side road, yet right in the heart of Hamburg, just a few minutes' walk from the main train station, the Alster Lake and the elegant shopping area. ... more   less
