My Wife and I stayed here for four days, originally booked it 2 years ago but was cancelled by the Hotel due to the Covid situation. Their policy is not to issue refunds but vouchers even though this was certainly not our fault.
I will start with getting into the Hotel. the Station is right beside the Hotel so you would think this would be handy. Wrong. There are a million steps up to the Hotel and we nearly had a Heart attack trying to climb them with our bags. OK if you are twenty but at almost 60 I would not recommend it.
When we arrived to the top we came on a door that turned out to be a closed Restaurant ( no sign on it ). We went around the back and saw a similar door with people out smoking and passed it by. No sign for the Hotel entrance/reception.
Having walked around this three times looking for a way in ( in the pouring rain ) we finally discovered that this was the entrance, you had to stand back about twenty yards to see the sign though.
Check in was very overcrowded and the girl we dealt with used a tablet to get us to enter our details. It was spotty to say the least, would not accept the phone number and after some 25 minutes proceeded to crash completely. She then reverted to good old fashioned paper to check in.
The room, supposedly a "Captains room", was very small and cluttered and the bed consisted of two three foot mattresses shoved together. That was bad enough but it had two small three foot duvet type covers instead of proper bedclothes which consistently fell off both of us all night long. Quite frankly it was awful.
Did not bother with the breakfast, a bit of a push at €23 per person. Far better options downtown or even the station.
There was no Hotel Bar open ( the nautical themed one they have is closed so we could not get a drink on arrival. There is a Tower Bar which opens around 6pm till 2. We tried that on the Saturday night around 11 and queued all the was down the Hall and stairs and after forty minutes of that had enough and returned to our cramped room. Saturday night downtown Hamburg near the Reeperbahn, not a good way to end it.
The Hotel is listed a a four star but hard to see how that can be with the lack of facilities, couldn't even manage to get a drink in it. The Staff very all very nice and genuinely helpful but it was a disappointing experience.
finally, if you are anyway old or infirm, don't! When retuning we went out the back way and around a long winging sloping road back to the station. Could not face those stairs again with bags now much heavier with shopping etc.

This is a nice place in a friendly neighborhood close to the Elbe. The hotel is a maze of corridors and offers rooms in the main building as well in the newer annexes. We were offered a room in the adjacent building, quite small, but all of the amenities that we needed were present. There was no cupboard, but little space with coathangers. The bar area of the restaurant has an authentic feel and is worth a visit. We had a meeting in one of the rooms (Elbe) which was in fact a bit cramped for the number of people. The Hotel offers a great breakfast, but that does not come cheap and at E27,50 it is priced at a high level. You have plenty to choose from, though.

My wife and i stayed here for three nights. The hotel is very old but in a stunning location on a hill overlooking the port of Hamburg and the river Elbe, actually is above St.Pauli Landungsbrucken and 5 minutes walk to the Reeperbahn(red light) also walking distance to the city centre.
Check in and out was easy within few minutes, the lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect Greek(our language) i was really surprised.
The hotel have a nautical theme with a lot of old times maritime décor in the ground floor.
the room was small but nice and clean, only negative was there was no view at all and no air condition.
The hotel has an amazing ,cozy old times bar and a modern one at the top floor the Tower bar with amazing view over the harbour.
Generally is good old hotel but expensive, 270 euro p.n without breakfast.

Positives: The service from the hotel staff was good and the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

Negatives: The room was very poor. There was no tv in the room. Also there was no kettle in the room to be able to make a hot drink with. To add to not being able to make a hot drink, the bottled water that they left in the room each day cost €5, rip off. There was no way of controlling the temperature in the room. Sometimes the temperature in the room was ok, other times it felt very cold in the room. As for the bathroom, the shower was a joke. The side of the shower only had a glass panel covering half of it, so if you had the shower head facing the wrong way, you ended up flooding the bathroom floor. Also the drainage from the shower was almost non existent. By the time you had finished having a shower your feet were covered by water and if you stayed in the shower too long you were in danger of the water pouring over the side of the shower unit onto the bathroom floor. As well as the shower being bad there was an issue a few times with the toilet not flushing properly. The only good thing about the room was that it was quite spacious.

Overall hotel ok, room awful. Thankfully because I was staying there with work, I didn’t have to spend too much time in the hotel.

a group of 14 of us went to hamburg. 10 of us stayed in this hotel. 5 double rooms which where more like single rooms as 2 of us struggled to move about in the room.
On the first night I got home one of the travellers staying in another hotel was in are bedroom. He said he asked for me at reception so they give him a room key and even directed him to my room. I hardly knew this man so was surprised they even allowed this. But it was fitting that the hotel looked something out of a murder mystery novel. Also one of the rooms had a terrible smell coming from the toilets.
Only good thing was the location as was close to all shops and train station

Nice location. Slowish front desk, check-in took time with useless datafilling. Broken elevator. Bad coffee in the breakfast. Paying in advance is pain in the ass in general and in particular because of company reimbursent. Some rooms noisy due to railway.

The rooms are quite smaler than they appear to be from the hotel fotos. However the rooms are Nice and clean. We paid for a city view but Got parking spot view to the hotel yard.
A lot of the waiters in the hotel restaurant let us wait for a long time, and we did not get service before we asked a waiter the third time. Some of the waiters’ service was really bad and they had bad attitudes. 2-3 times we visited the restaurant for breakfast or a drink the waiters placed us at a table where the table was still dirty from the previous guests which was Strange (Corona or not) - However we should ware a mask (ofcourse). We will probably use another hotel the next time we visit beautiful Hamborg.

Be careful. You will not get the room you have booked, and they will try to charge you much more, when you arrive to this hotel. Watch out - this hotel is cheating !! We had agreed a nice room with a view (paid full price for a captains room) and we were moved to another building and turned out to a sag, dark and unsecure street. Be careful !!

This is without doubt one of worst hotels I have stayed in for many years. After being ping ponged from one reception desk in 1 building to a 2nd reception desk in another building and then sent from that second reception to rooms situated in the Tower Bar Tower block ( the 3rd buiding!) I opened a door to a small, pokey room with grim, tired decor, it reminded me of student accomodation. It was very hot and after spending 10 minutes looking for an AC remote I realised there was no remote because there was no AC! I opened the window to let some cool air in which also let in the deafening noise of the busy adjacent railway track. There is no door on the shower cubicle and the shower is attached on a hose at waste level so if you want to wash your hair you have to grow a 3rd arm. There is no free drinking water in the room and no tea making facilities which I think is very mean when you are paying 480 Euros for a 3 night stay in a single room in noisy, hot, grim student accomodation! On the plus side it does have free wifi which seems quite decent. I have yet to have a chance to voice my complaints to management so let's see how they respond. To be continued....
