We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, which is conveniently located close to Wilhelmshöhe station (the main arrival point for long-distance trains). Note that the hotel is much nearer to the secondary exit from the station platforms accessed by using the lift than by going up the ramp to exit via the main station building.

We thought the hotel and breakfast satisfactory, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. As busy times we had to wait some time for the lift (elevator), but this was probably because one of the two lifts was being replaced.

Trying to find the PentaHotel Kassel is a little tricky. Reservations should have clear map attached.
The room was clean and spacious. Motif is modern. The check in a and check out process was a little confusing due to computer problems.
Excellent locations. Just a few blocks from the central DB Rail station, and the local stops for the trams/bus systems. You can hub from there to anywhere in Kassel.
We took advantage of the local Spa package. The Spa is 2 tram stops from the hotel (15 minutes), and is a world class Spa, with a full range of pools, hot tubs, and Spa services (massage, light therapy). An excellent place to spend several hours of relaxing.
The staff at the PentaHotel Kassel were very good. There was a little trouble with language, but nothing serious.
All in all, we had a nice stay and would stay there again.

I spent two nights at pentahotel Kassel. Walking distance to train station. WIFI available. Try to get a room facing the courtyard. Good choice of drinks and food at the bar. I enjoyed a big nacho portion and a good red wine.

This is a great Hotel. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and the best Location in Kassel. The Die Bahn (Train station) is 500 feet away. But it is not loud, seedy, or anything you would think in USA. This place is the perfect place for any trip to Kassel. Great walking to markets, resturants, malls, taxis, trains :), and anything else you could ever need there.

Stayed here 2 nights due to a conference and I wish I hadn't. The nicest thing about the hotel is the bar/lobby area. That is where it ends. The room had no air conditioning. The hotel is located next to the train station and you can hear all the street noise and the trains. However, that isn't the worst part of the stay. Our room was located a room away from the elevator. We heard it all day and night long, as it went up and down and as the doors opened and closed on every floor. Didn't sleep at all during the 2 nights stay there.

There was free water in the room on the first day. The second day, the water was not replaced.Housekeeping was terrible. I'd spilled a bit of coke on the bedsheets, the first evening and the sheets hadn't been replaced. So the 2nd night I slept on a stain of sticky coca cola. In addition, the mattress was very uncomfortable.

Also, the shower was a bit unstable and moved when you touched it, I was afraid the thing would collapse under the water pressue. There were also holes in the tiles in the shower from the previous shower. Very unprofessional "quick fix" type workmanship done in the bathroom. The bathroom was small and nothing luxurious about it but it was clean.

There is no fridge or coffee/tea making facilities. No extras that you usually find at a boutique hotel.

The paid "underground" parking is a joke. It is underground but there is a whole side wall opening to the street. In addition, the door between the hotel and parking was broken, anyone could come in off the street and access it. The neighbourhood is a bid dodgy and we didn't feel safe parking our car in the "underground" parking.

The fitness centre is a dingy little room in the basement with a few equipment thrown in. There is a sauna which you have to turn on and wait for it to heat up, before you can go in. The sauna area was clean and well kept.

The worst part of the stay was the fact that we couldn't sleep the 2 nights due to the noise from the elevator. Don't stay here if you want to get any sleep.

This is a cool little hotel very close to the train station. You check in at the bar downstairs. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was very cute and very colorful. Everything in the room was a different color. No A/C and no safe but very good beds.
Had a very good meal downstairs at the bar.

I spend one night here in May travelling on business.

The room was of a decent size, and had two large beds pushed together - haven't seen that before - why not have one king bed instead?

The amenities was in this funny little purse - fun to bring home as a gift if you have daughters at home. the view was of another building, but if you feel like seeing some greenery you can walk to the Castle up the hill in 30 minutes.

The breakfast was the best part - you could sit outside and the selection was excellent with hot items, lots of fruit and even pancakes.

Parking can be found in the basement and it is really close to the station.

We stayed there three nights, hotel is centrally located near the main train station, room was spacious with interesting design and comfy bed, breakfast was very good with wide variety, they provided free WiFi, the only issue was parking, as it was fully occupied upon our arrival. But we found parking in the train station nearby. This hotel is one of the best in Kassel

I'm not sure what all of the complaining is about. I've stayed at the Ramada in previous years during visits to Documenta, and it's bland, characterless, and the food and drink is terrible. Upon reading about Penta, I was heartened to know that finally something boutique has opened in Kassel and that it was very well located near the Wilhelmshöhe train station. Not only was it near the station, it is less than a 5 minute walk from there and every tram you need to go to the Documenta venues. The rooms are rather small but clean. The front desk is helpful and friendly, but above all, the food at the restaurant is very very good by German standards (try the burgers--that's a real test). The breakfast is great. All in all, I really like this place and would come back again.
