Stayed overnight. Chosen for easy access and late arrival.
This hotel has a very sparkly surface, but the service and amenities are just average.
The lobby has a very! loud and very lonely duo with live entertainment until very late at night, every night, but nobody listens. The noise can be heard all trough the ground floor and clashes badly with the equally loud tv in the bar/sitting area.
The bedroom was a nice size, ok beds, very soft pillows but no extra pillows to be found.
Little bit outdated bathroom, but ok.

Positive: all tough we arrived pretty late (22.30hrs) the staff at the restaurant was perfectly happy to prepare a better then average steak dinner and serve it with a smile.

We booked this hotel for 1 night at a very affordable price, considering it was touting itself as a five-star hotel with a Sauna! 5-star IT IS NOT! Felt more like a 3-star. We arrive at 9 pm on a Monday night, only to be told that the Sauna was 'kaput.' WHAT!?! And we get no apology. The recetiom clerk could not give a hoot about our disappointment.
We get into a large room with a very spacious bathroom, but only a shower. We wondered why they bothered with such a large bathroom, and could not install a bath. It was a hot evening but there are no aircons in the whole property. Ack! So we open the single window of the room, and within minutes smell smoke coming from smokers outside on the ground floor (we were on the 5th).
The TV was not working either!!
It was at this point that we decided to go downstairs and get something done.
Of course the lone reception person gave no apologies still. There is no technician on duty this evening. So we reiterate put disappointments and suggest getting another room... And perhaps breakfast. The resonae was that breakfast is 17.50 euro but he was willing to give us another room. It was much smaller but at least the TV was working. But it was all up to us to get our bags from one wing to the other. 5-star, they say??
Oh it doesn't end there. So we had a peaceful smoke-free warm summer night's rest. You guessed it, we slept with the windows closed. And as we prepared for a shower... The towel was filthy!!! There arent even aany amenities in the bathroom, only body/hair shampoo. Now waiting for new towels.

Don't be fooled. This is a 3-star (at best) property. I have seen muh better 3-atar hotels myself! I should've checked reviews before booking this hotel!!

We spendt 2 days in the "la Strada". It is definitely a 3 star Hotel. The staff is quite formal and does not really appear to be interested in you. In the restaurant about 95% of the seats is free for smokers (!!!).
The whole athmosphere in the hotel is lacking "offensive friendliness". The hotel pretends to be "grand", but will be most attractive for sport clubs who may enjoy the "redneckish" atmoshere penetrating the public areas.
We had a room with great view upon building debris being about 2m in front if the window. The disco is not to be overheard in the 1st floor. Any of these complaints was ignored. Ask for silent rooms!!
Nevertheless, the breakfast is great! The rooms are big.

Our stay at La Strada was non- existent so I am unable to comment on the interior of the property. However, I have based my review upon communication with Nicola the owner/manager. Despite booking this accommodation two years ago prior to COVID, two days before arriving we confirmed the booking only to be told there was none.
Our money has been paid, and to date no refund received despite Nicola's reassurances that a refund would be forthcoming. He is also not taking or returning calls.
We have no recourse except to lodge a bad review. Once again it seems that the consumer pays at the end of the day and the tourism operators gain. When will airlines/tourism industries stop blaming COVID and start to take responsibility. We were told that he did not have any money. Frankly, I don't care!!!
We all want to get up and running again after nearly two years of lock -down but it now appears that the customer is NEVER right.
Do not touch this accommodation with a barge pole it may well be nice inside, but the manager is dishonest.

My friends and I stayed for 3 days at this hotel. In fact, La Strada had merged with the Premium Motel Am Park, situated next door, where I stayed. We stayed here to attend the documenta14 exhibition. The hotel is 5min walking from the tram stop; from here, it's a 10min travel to the very heart of the city, the Friedrichsplatz where also the major exhibits of documenta14 are. Although it's possible to have breakfast and dinner in the hotel, we preferred to go downtown to enjoy a more relaxed and entertaining atmosphere.

Over a two nights stay, I encountered so many problems/issues that I really cannot be positive about this hotel. Service: unfriendly. When entering the Fruehstueckbuffet, I was checked on room number in a way that was close to a security check. At the reception mistakes added; wrong info, no info, really irritating. First night a lady has been singing for nearly 3 hours and the music was loud and bad. The WIFI is poor. For the main entrance some 25 people were standing around, smoking, the next morning glasses were lying around. I really did not got the feeling that I was considered to be a guest: I was just one of those many people willing to pay a far too expensive price for the service delivered (barely toilet paper, no tissues) From a 4**** star hotel one expects really more.

Disappointing.

Stayed here on a business trip. Hotel is clean and well kept but stuck in the 80's with its decor. Food is very nice with a huge choice for all tastes. Check in was not easy due to huge numbers of guest arriving and only two staff on reception but once checked in all was ok. Staff were very nice and helpful and overall the stay was good.

We arrived very late and only stayed for one night, so we did not have time to experience the hotel facilities. We did, however, have breakfast and it was amazing. Freshly squeezed orange juice, many different types of breads, cheeses, meat etc. The room was great too.

My "story" happended 3 months ago.
I sent already two complaints to the hotel and they didn't answer yet... How annoying!

We came from town at 00:30h, and suddenly, half hour later, at 01:00h, the electricity of all our room turn off... I came to the reception and I told to the receptionist, but she told me that she could not do anything to fix it...
That meant that we could not continue working (we were working in an article about the dOCUMENTA 13), we could not use the toilet, we could not watch tv, we could not charge our camera and Ipad batteries, I could not use the hairdryer... and so on....

We decided to go to sleep, and what was our surprise when we got up and we realize that we still have no light in our room??????

I think this is a basic service of any hotel, no matter how many stars it has...

We payed 107€ for each night, and i think the hotel was not up to it. I asked for a compensation but the receptionist told me that the boss of the hotel wasn't there so she could not do anything about it.

We think we own a compensation for everything that happen that night.

Jewelry in the value of 500 Euro was stolen from my room (in August 2012) and despite of numerous promises from the hotel, I was never even called back. I would not stay there again, if I have to take along everything a bit valuable such as laptops, important documents, all jewelry, maybe silk items etc. as soon as I am leaving the room.
