I stayed here with my family in the summer and we were very content with our choice. To begin with the host was kind and friendly, which always helps. Our two-bedroom apartment was spotless and well appointed. It may have lacked a bit of charm, but the fact that it was spacious, clean and a good place to call home... More

Stayed in a two room apartment with separate, fully equipped kitchen. 5 minutes walking distance to the city center and the Old Town. The staff helped us with parking so we did not have to pay, very thoughtful. good breakfast with plenty to choose from.

Our room was rather small, especially the bathroom. But it was clean and comfortable. The location is good, on a quiet street in the old quarters. The pedestrian zone is less than five minutes walk away, on the other side of a busy road. The breakfast was ok, but not excellent. It’s a bit hard to find a good parking... More

We, a "Hike & Bike" group stayed for a week at this hotel although its breakfast room was too small for the number of users, we enjoyed the location, the cleanness, the breakfast and the garage provided for Bike storage. The rooms are equipped with a kitchen, good breakfast, and at a reasonable price. Definitely recommended for those, who doesn't... More

Run-down smoky room, odd layout with reception on the first floor, awkward parking a walk away, basic breakfast, not very welcoming apart from the reception lady who was great. Easily the least good of 7 places on a week-long trip.

I stayed one night at Altstadthotel Wienecke in Braunschweig on my way to Leipzig. The hotel standard is pretty much basic, everything worked without being fancy. It is situated on a small calm street and have some parking places. I was however positively surprised with the warm and heartily caring of the staff. Should I return, I would definitely visit... I stayed there on my third and last business trip in Braunschweig, and now I wish I've stayed from the first time. To be honest I booked there because of the low price, but I soon discovered that the location was very convenient, quite close to the train station, and the hotel is on a lovely paved road surrounded by... I arrived late (had difficulty finding working payphone) but the proprietor was genuinely welcoming, nothing forced or artificial, and made me feel very welcome. Showed me to the room, then gave me directions to local bars and restaurants. The next day they looked after my bag whilst I visited the art gallery I had come to Braunschweig to see. When I picked... I was amazed at the size of the room with kitchen that I stayed in for a very low price. Room was very comfortable and the staff was VERY helpful. Excellent location for exploring Braunschweig on foot. Beware if you're taking a taxi back to the train station - they take the long way around town and blame it on... More
