I normally don't stay in places labeled romantic, charming, or historical. That usually means cramped, old furnishings, stuffy, small rooms. This, however, is a fine run traditional hotel near the center of town. Parking, breakfast, Wi-Fi were all included in the price. Only issue we had, was that the construction company had all their equipment outside of our room, which... More

i was here for a business trip and paid quite a lot of money for a room which was old and the "balcony" door opened to the park. i love to sleep with an open window, which i couldn't since it was giving to the park and anybody could have come in. wifi connection was poor. the people at the... Situated at the entrance to Göttingen's Old Town, this hotel epitomizes the German Family Hotel: the purpose built structure from the 19th century, in the hands of the same family for generations, has been touched and retouched by subsequent waves of tastes, techniques, and technologies: the beautiful restaurant sports fabulously heavy 19th century furnishings with booths you'd expect to have... 4 minutes walk from the train station hiding a 4 stars hotel which you usually don't find near stations. Joggers will also appreciate the 3 Km jogging path circle that passes near by. At the end of my run, a short bath at the hotel's wear pool brought me back to life. Hotel atmosphere is a bit too conservative -... More

I am a regular guest at Gebhard's when I am in town for business. This hotel has a long history as Goettingen's "best" hotel and it certainly feels old fashioned / traditional in a positive and sophisticated way. Rather than flashy design or anonymous business hotel chique you get dark wood, brass lights, rooms on the small side and a... More

I arrived on a Sunday evening, to be greeted with a staff member opening the doors for me. That level of service continued throughout my two nights there. Check-in was quick and friendly, and I was shown to my room. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, there were chocolates to welcome me, and fresh roses in the bathroom. Breakfast... More

This old-fashioned but very modern where it matters hotel is family-run and feels like it. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Rooms are extremely well-appointed. Much attention paid to details, all of which make you feel welcome and pampered. Wonderful small sitting-rooms in lobby for coffee. Fantastic restaurant.

My overall stay was very pleasant & charming. The hotel is a boutique hotel with a personal touch. There were numerous cute things like flowers, bedding, funky windows, etc that gave the place its own charm. The people who run the place are very helpful & interesting. We were here to drop off daughter for summer internship at Max-Planck Institute... More

The hotel is located within walking distance from the station and close to the city center. Check- in staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is family owned and has a traditional feel, but is very well preserved and clean. The general feel is cosy and quite different from the large chain hotels. My single room was on the... Haven't slept well for 4 nights as the room gets really hot or night so wake up after about 3 hours and have to open the windows to let the heat out. No obvious heater is on so no idea why. The curtains aren't light proof either so will be woken up by light at 7am anyway. Room is cramped... More
