I recently had a comfortable stay at Courtyard by Marriott Hannover Maschsee. The room was not only spacious and offered a captivating view of Maschsee. The friendly staff contributed significantly to the overall positive atmosphere, always ready to assist and make the stay comfortable.

One of the key advantages of this hotel is its strategic location. It's conveniently close to both tourist attractions and the city center, making it an ideal choice for those looking to explore Hannover. The accessibility to nearby points of interest added immense value to my trip.

The Courtyard am Maschsee is a super hotel. I was there for a few days on business trip.

The check in was easy and fast. The staff there was friendly and could help me with my questions.

The room itself was also very nice. I had a view of the lake. The room was great and modern and had everything you need. It was also tidy and clean. Housekeeping also came every day.

The breakfast was very tasty. For a breakfast in corona times this was siper implemented. Service at the table and a super buffet speak for themselves here. The service there was also very friendly.

The room service was also totally fine and the food there delicious. (See restaurant report).

The location of the hotel is of course outstanding. Very beautifully located on the lake. You can go for a walk and is also quickly in the city center.

This is a great place to stay. From a price point of view, we are here in the middle level.

This hotel has undergone a complete renovation and is now a high quality Courtyard location. Rooms are nice and have all usual amenities: minibar, wireless internet, good workspace and nice views. Property is located next to the stadium which will host World Cup site in 2006 and within a larger city park, great for walks and jogs. Workout space is good, too. Restaurant's quality is marginal.

Only downside to this site is location is not very convenient to main train station or center city -- 10 minute walk. Taxis are available curbside outside of the hotel.

I stay here at least once a year for business and the service and staff are very good.

Exterior appearance is dated. Only when I was in room noticed I had been “charged” an EXTRA 50€ per night on the credit card which they described to me as being on an EU initiative. I do not like this practice happening WITHOUT MY CONSENT and that it was not even explained to me at Check in. Had to go downstairs to get TV remote replaced only to go back down later that night because that one was not working either. (btw remote in Hamburg was individually wrapped – here it came with a small pack of hygienic wraps – so much for Covid cleaning). Duty Receptionist/Manager came up and made me feel inferior because it worked for her. Then there is the safe that works when it wants to. I didn’t bother mentioning that for fear of being told off again.
Internet – only allowed two of my three devices and it had to be reconfigured every day of my stay. Staying in the Hamburg Courtyard I had none of these problems.
Good large room with my lake view being excellent (despite the torn mosquito netting on the opening window). (I fully appreciate requests cannot always be met but the hotel was not full and they consider 3rd of 5 floors as high). Furniture and carpeting very dated. The electric switches had a mind of their own. Excellent bathroom very hot water, good towels. Bed very comfortable with very good assortment of pillows. Easy chair and table NOT good for working on (unlike Hamburg).
Clearly resting on its laurels with proximity of Arena next door and the lakeside location. Personally I would not recommend this hotel purely on the basis that it seems to be living in the past. It needs a lot of care and money spending on it.
Apparently this is a “franchise” hotel – it creates a bad impression of what Courtyard can do (see my Hamburg review).

Dear Eric B, thank you very much for your stay with us and also for your time to share your exceriences here. We are sorry that your stay with us does not meet your expectations. Within the check-in communication we inform our guests about the credit card process. For security reasons we do reserve the amount of the stay as well as EUR 50,- for additional expenses. This reservation is not a charge to the credit card. About the way your technical issues had been handled we need to apologize as this does not meet our standards and we will discuss this within our team. As you mentioned our great colleagues in Hamburg - which are also franchisees - we are sorry that for you we cannot compete. In the fairness to other traverllers reading this review we need to mention that our property was build and opened in 2000 as Hamburg opened in 2019. Of course we had several renovations during the years and we will also refurbish during the next year but the building of course is a little different. Thank you again for your opinion and we are looking forward welcoming you again if you're in Hannover for future travel. Best regards from Lake Maschsee your COURTYARD by Marriott Hannover Maschsee Nils Liebau Director of Sales

This is a very pleasant hotel, situated on the border of a lake. There is enough parking place (with a fee) on the other side of the road and a few (free) parking spots in front of the hotel. The city center is just a 10-15 minute walk.

We visited Hannover because their Opera house performed an opera we wanted to see. So, my husband and I stayed there for two nights in July 2006 and booked direct with Marriott a weekend arrangement. For 122 euro p.n. we had a luxury room with lake side view, free parking, breakfast and 4-course diner for two.

The room is very comfortable, an excellent bed, airco, fridge, good quality furniture, nice seating, many lighting ornaments, iron set and a very clean bathroom with many soft towels.

On each floor you have ice machines (very uncommon in Europe). There are no coffee/thee makers in the room, but in the lobby you can take free coffee or thee. Over there you can also buy drinks and food (sandwiches, salads etc.) to take to your room.

The restaurant had a terrace also, which was very nice because the weather was sunny and warm when we were there. The diner we had was fine, nothing spectacular, but just good. The breakfast was excellent; an enormous variety in all kinds of food. They even had healthy yoghurt drinks!

All the employees are friendly and make you feel welcome. Most of them speak English as well. In every aspect it was a very enjoyable stay.

Very nice, modern, comfortable business hotel located on the shores of a large man-made lake. Rooms are nicely designed, comfortable, with beautiful lake views. Sauna and fitness facilities are extensive, one of the best I've seen. In addition, its location next to the lake makes for great jogging and walking nearby.

To be honest I can't say much about the hotel because our stay was so short (our flight landed at midnight and we were out the door of the hotel around 9 that morning). If you're looking for a place to stay with an international standard of quality plus luxury bedding, this fits the bill.

Breakfast was not included in the 65 euro I paid for a room with a king size bed. We were in a lovely corner room with windows on two sides overlooking the AWD football stadium across the road. It was the first time I've had a shower where you can precisely control the temperature of the water.

The hotel has a great setting on the shores of the Machsee lake and next to a park that leads up to the new town hall. You'll be about a 5-minute walk from the new town hall, Kestner Museum, Landesmuseum and Sprengel gallery so a full morning's sightseeing is right outside your door. It's about a 20-minute walk from the main train station.

One of the Marriott chain, and extremely comfortable with excellent staff, who spoke English and for whom nothing seemed too much trouble. Next to a lake, our room had a lake view, around which you can walk or run along tree lined tracks, or circumnavigate slowly in a glass covered boat. Also a nearby boardwalk, at the head of the lake, which in August had live music in the evenings and bars, etc, but not intrusive when in the room. Located on the edge of the city, it is a short walk into the centre. Full very comprehensive breakfast to get you going. Cannot fault hotel, would definitely go again.

We had a lake view room on the top floor with a very spacious room. Front desk was very helpful. Bedding and towels were good quality and the bathroom was modern and spotless. We took the bus to the center most of the time and it was easy.

Stayed for 2 nights for business.

The hotel is situated about 2Km from the center, at the borders of an artificial lake build in the 1930’s. It is a little bit dated from the outside. Tough the lobby is modern, the bar & restaurant is not. In front of the main entrance there are some free parking spots. Opposite of the hotel, at the other side of the road there’s a paying parking lot in the open air.

The rooms are spacious and the cleanliness was OK. The bathroom is very basic and not that nice in my opinion. There’s is a mini bar but it’s empty. You have to fill it yourself with drinks & snacks you can buy next to the reception. There is also no room service available. So this is obviously not a 4 star superior, but more a basic 4 star hotel.

The WiFi was working good. As in many hotels there is a shortage of power sockets in the room for the modern digital nomad.

Be aware that this hotel is next to a football stadium which can cause a lot of noise as I experienced. There are also almost no shops or restaurants in the direct area. But the lakeside is of course nice to relax during a nice evening walk.

I ate 3 times in the restaurant of the hotel and must say the food was well made and at very reasonable prices. Both bar and restaurant offer a view over the lake.
For breakfast one can choose between a continental small breakfast (€10) or the breakfast buffet (€20). I noticed especially the tasty bread they serve. Something you cannot say about the coffee.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I will not return to this hotel, because one can have much better hotels for a comparable price in Hannover.
