This hotel is in a really great central location in Bonn, on the market square and also not far from the river and the main station. I stayed in a single room which was quite basic but comfortable and fine. I didn't have the breakfast as it seems expensive and there are many cafes nearby.

Well this hotel is iconic and there's a reason for that. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are great, plenty of room to spread out. The staff was very pleasant, but you can't overlook the perfect location! The cafe's out front overlooking the square is the best spot to enjoy a coffee or wine or a meal, it never gets old. This is worth checking out, you won't be disappointed!
I didn't drive, so can't talk about that.

Great hotel, great position, great staff. Parked in the public car park below the market square, entrance about 30 yards from the hotel. Rooms were spacious, clean and tidy. Shower room great. Would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: A room away from the market square would be quieter, we did experience late noise.

Driving there is a bit tough where the parking lot entrance isn't mentioned well for tourists. Anyways, had to park in front of hotel to get directions and was served pleasantly by staff. (think have done a traffic violation but wasn't caught).

Parking lot is ok, good price and elevator right in front of hotels door.

Hotel physical look from the outside is very nice, historical and located in a great location.

Lobby is very small and old, Staff are friendly and helpful as much as they can.

Price was ok for a hotel but what for I got which will be explained below, but charged for my baby sleeping in the room and not for the crib which wasn't offered to us. (which is something I really do not appreciate nor understand).

You get a physical heavy key. Corridors are very aged and old (smelly), a bit creepy to be honest.

Now here starts the tragedy when entering the room.. it literally feels like entering a caravan..

Once the door is opened, on your right is the bathroom just door back to door and left is the shower (both are not nice nor clean), the third door right in front of you that takes you to the room. Whats shocking is that the room size is good but why the weird lay out im not sure.

Room from inside, furniture is old, not nice, old cabinet, not comfy bed, sink in the room not bathroom.

Honestly, was a disaster.

Breakfast, was average.

Only good thing, staff are nice and location,

How this hotel got 4 * is unbelievable. The rooms are almost like dorm rooms in college, with the same furniture and some with a sink in the room. The bathroom fan is extremely noisy and takes a long time to stop. The breakfast has a decent amount of options but nothing changes from one day to another, absolutely nothing. Same dried eggs and same types of cheese and meat. Not even one salad.

The Sternhotel is right on the Marktplatz in Bonn, and quite close to everything. The Uni is a block or two away, Beethoven's birthplace is around the corner...

Quite a nice hotel. Rooms are European-sized, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast room looks out over the Marktplatz, and the breakfast is quite good.

The staff is friendly, and speaks English.

Definitely the nicest place I've stayed at in Bonn (and I travel there at least twice a year).

Not much wrong with this hotel in general, but unfortunately I had to experience the most unwelcoming management ever there. A group of four of us stayed there paying full rates. In the morning a family member was in town for business and wanted to join us for a cup of coffee. The only option, we were offered, was to pay EUR 20 for a full breakfast for our family member coming over. As he already had eaten breakfast, he just wanted a cup of coffee and sit with us. Of course we would have paid for the coffee, but this was not an option. Either full breakfast or no access granted to the breakfast room. No exceptions to the rule. When suggested to the management that this behaviour would certainly not give them any good press, they replied that the were used to "people threating them". Go figure.

We stayed for just one night in November 2004 - I was on business, and my wife came to shop and sight-see. The Hotel Stern was a great place to stay - very convenient for the sights and restaurants. The room we were given was fantastic - a suite really, with an entrance hall a huge bedroom and a large bathroom (and I've stayed in quite a few suites in the USA - this was bigger). Breakfast was included in the room rate and gave us what we want. Recommended.

The location of this hotel could not be better, right in the Market square by the Rathaus. We got off the airport bus at the ‘Markt’ stop and the hotel was right in front of us. On most city breaks we stay a short walk away from the centre to save money, but this hotel was very reasonably priced. I was sure there would be some catch, but I was wrong. The staff were all lovely. The room was huge and spotlessly clean. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was really good and fresh (the bread rolls were still warm!). The room looked exactly like the pictures on the hotel website. Not sumptuous luxury, but modern and comfortable. We even got a no-smoking room. Something we always ask for but don't always get in Germany. I loved Bonn. There was so much to see I will definitely go back. When I do, I’ll be staying at the Sternhotel.

We checked in to the hotel on Wednesday June 19 2013. We had a great time so after few days in the Romantic Rhein we decided to book it again. With the small print in the booking.com app I made a mistake and booked 22/6 instead of 23/6, the day I actually came in. They told me they sent me email in the morning that I did not show up. I asked why the evening receptionist did not try to call me or send me email to verify why I am not showing up and the answer was that "he is not trained to do that". I said I will pay for another night and I did. In the morning I tried to convince the receptionist that they could be generous and refund me on the lost night. They refused. Obviously, this is out of season and while they kept the room for me, they did not have to refuse anyone for that, so this is just an excuse to make another 115 euro. While this was my responsibility and I should have checked my booking confirmation, I know that many places, (I run one myself) would have refund a guest who came twice that week. I also believe that telling you the night receptionist can't handle a no show?
I am not coming again.
There is a lower grade cheaper hotel in the ally just left to this hotel's building, We checked the rooms there too and they will be quite enough for us next time.
Another pain point in this hotel - internet for 10 euro per hour after you already have paid 155 for a luxury room? and a single computer for all guests? Not in par with the pose the hotel is trying to put on.

Dear guest, our hotel has no own car park. We are located directly in the city centre. There are many public parkings / garages in walking distance around our hotel.
