The hotel is just a few steps away from the inner city (pedestrian shopping area) and the Rhine river. Despite its central location, it's quiet -- you might hear the occasional seagull squawking. Everything you need is within walking distance. Trams are nearby, and you can get to the main train station within 15 minutes.
The best part: breakfast is AMAZING! Friendly staff on site, you get your choice of fresh coffee or tea. Fresh juice, a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetable, a variety of eggs, sausages, ham, cheese, even smoked salmon, muesli and cereals, bread and rolls, milk and milk replacement... it makes for the perfect start to a great day in Bonn.

This hotel is cute and ran by an excellent couple that want to ensure you have a great stay in Bonn Germany. They provide tourist info and map and coupons.

The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. Only heads up needed I see is that there is no elevator. But this seems to be the normal thing in Europe. Very Quiet. The location is great. Only 5 min. max. to the pedestrian streets and the Munsterplaz. The Munsterplaz is fantastic with Market vendors and people watching. It is surrounded by excellent pedestrian streets with fantastic shopping. There is a good local ice cream shop and a street vendor with really good Bratwurst and pommes.

If you are in shape it is only a 10 min suitcase drag through the pedestrian streets from the train station to the hotel.

Bonn is the perfect staying point to visit Koln and Koblenz and other surrounding areas by train. Koblenz is great for a walk along the rhine and to visit castles and a defense fortress. It also has good pedestrian streets and a fun munsterplatz.

Visit Bonn during celebrate Bonn weekend or their Oktoberfest and you are sure to have a blast.

booked a room for 2 nights by phone. arrived 10 past 11 pm. darkness. after runging a bell, a grumpy man answers...takes 10-15 minutes to open the front door. "who are you, what do you want from me" was the welcoming greeting.

"in my room please"

we are closed by 11 and usually dont let anyone in after

but this is a hotel, not a primary school, besides - my train just arrived

i dont care, this decent house is shut down by 11 - you can be lucky i still let you in

thanks gran'pa ... work in the army, hotel business was just one bad idea for you

Stayed here for four days during a mini-vacation and liked it. It is located a 5-10 minutes walk away from the main attractions of the city center. The hotel is on five floors, I was at the top floor. Travelling as a single, my room was quite small, but on the other hand it was efficiently in terms of interior, with distinict spaces for sleeping and working, in addition to a nice bathroom area. The only awkward thing was the location of the TV screen, as your nect would hurt if you tried to watch it from bed. But I didn't care much, I don't stay at hotels to watch TV.

Breakfast was very nice, must say that the range of choice was very good for this quite small hotel. Great staff, both reception- and breakfast-wise.

I can see why people rate this hotel at top notch, as it probably will exceed expectations for a three star hotel. When I rate it at four, it's because it is clearly not five stars (and maybe my expectations were hight based on the many positive reports here, too....) Nothing to complain about really, it is obviously good value. Cleaning looked nice, just make a mention that one morning I saw a dead wasp on the floor at the window, it was still there when I returned in the afternoon after cleaning. But it doesn't matter much. Enjoy.

This hotel was an excellent choice while staying in Bonn The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast, which is included in the price, was excellent. The people who own the hotel could not have been any nicer or any more accommodating. While we were not too thrilled with the city of Bonn we enjoyed seeing Mozart's house , and we enjoyed our visit to Cologne while using Bonn as our base. If in Bonn I would recommend this hotel.

We arrived and were met by a staff member who gave us a key and then disappeared. Didn't see any staff until the next morning at breakfast. The location was rough and we didn't feel very safe. The whole hotel and room stunk of cigarettes. The room was very small. Breakfast was very average - the defrosted bakery goods were just lazy. We were happy to leave.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in mid-April because of the decent price and good reviews here on TripAdvisor. When we arrived, we were a bit dismayed because of the construction that's currently taking place on the road (there's a such of scaffolding directly in front of the hotel), but aside from marring what I'm sure is a beautiful facade, I'm happy to report that the construction wasn't even a factor in our stay. The hotel staff was lovely and accommodating. Our room was surprisingly large for a European hotel, and very quiet. The beds were super soft and the shower was just divine. Perhaps the best part of the whole stay was the complimentary breakfast - a smorgasbord of every possible breakfast food under the sun! All in all, we had a fantastic stay and we'd go back in a heartbeat. In fact, I'm sure we'll be back.

This was my third time at the Deutsches Haus. It is my favourite place to stay in Bonn if I am paying myself. Yes, a budget hotel - but with charming staff, so helpful and willing to please and none of the anonymity of chain hotels. You do need to know a few things first. There is no in-room phone. The only English station on the TV that I could find is Al Jazeera (but it is good). And there are no staff from late evening and overnight. So if you are arriving late, you must email them in advance and they will fix a key in the 'Key Boy' by the front door and give you a code. Do remember that; otherwise you will be standing in the street at midnight looking lost. Now to the good things. Breakfast is a feast. The selection of fruit is first class; I had fresh lychees, pineapple and strawberries on my first day. There is some hot food and a super choice of cold things including sticks of mozarella and cherry tomatoes. A real quality spread - and if something you want is not there, the staff will try ever so hard to find it. The room next. A good bathroom; excellent shower with piping hot water, hair dryer and radiator for towel and personal washing. I had a first floor double room at the back - beautifully quiet and really quite spacious. The location is great - just off the old town but right close to the airport bus stop at Beethovenshaus and the tram 66 into the Central Train Station and onto the UN Complex. My only niggle is that the complimentary sparkling water and the in-room tea bags were not replensihed daily. I had to ask - but they willingly obliged. I shall come again.

We spent a week-end in Bonn in this nice family run hotel.
It is centrally located, by foot easily in the city pedestrian area
the hotel is situated in a quiet side road.
There is no reserved parking place but it was not difficult to find one outside.
Nice friendly Servce.
The room was spatious, clean, nicely modern decorated. TV , wireless internet with access code on request. No lift.
Excellent buffet breakfast with plenty of delights sweets or salted, youghurt, muesli, fruit, ham, chees etc, in a very nice decorated hall; en exellent start to discover the town. value for money
Indeed to recommend this hotel.
