I used to travel here often to visit somebody who lived in the care home section.
The rooms are wonderful and spacious, and the staff are very accomodating, and we always appreciate the small packet of haribo's on the bed! The swimming pool is always fun, and it is usually quite empty, which is very good! The breakfasts there are always delicious, and so are the other meals. For dinner, I reccomend the wiener schnitzel! They are a prime example of how to mix a care home and a hotel, as they are well separated. It is also very close to the center of town, but you do not have too much noise from the streets below.
In conclusion, I highly reccomend this hotel, and I cannot wait to stay here again!

We picked this hotel for one night stay while traveling. The hotel is very nice for extended stays. The room was large and had a separate sitting room. The room also came with a kitchen for those longer stays. Parking was very good - we used the DB parking structure just a block away from the hotel. Reception was very nice and attentive. The breakfast that came with the room was also very nice. Enjoyed my stay if only for a night.

This is the most wonderful hotel if you are interested in a restorative stay. The staff is warm friendly the hotel clean and it has a fabulous pool warm clean comfortable and an immaculately clean sauna and showers. Strongly encourage to pay for breakfast included as the breakfast buffet is exceptional. Additionally there is a laundromat in the basement that you can use for $2.50 euros. If you cant read German find someone to help you as it is not intuitively obvious how to use you must put the settings you want in place before paying or you lose your coins! The hotel is combined with an assisted living which is interesting and feels like it works well. Will definitely come back if returning to Bonn and next time would try and get a room that is on the garden. Highly recommend

A pleasant discovery in all ways. First the location only 5min walk from the main train station and at the edge of the historical centre. Second, the charm of the historical building and inner court yard and clean, large rooms. Lastly the service was excellent.
The hotel functions both an assisted living residence and hotel which is unusual but did not otherwise bother me at all. Corridors are generally empty and peaceful.

My experience with the Leoninum is quited mixed. The hotel is located very close to the city center in a former monastry. The concept of the Leoninum is that a hotel is shared with a home for the aged. The rooms are designed to serve both functions. You should be prepared to have strange encounters in the elevator when you arrive late at night. My booking was not in the system when I arrived, but I got room. Unfortunately, I accidentally activated the heating in the bath-room so I did not have a very pleasant night. The service is ok, I did not have a breakfast, so i cannot judge about it.

I can't fault the build or quality of fittings but the hotel has no character at all. Very clinical and the rooms are kitted out for elderly people with access equipment and alarms.
The hotel has 4.5 stars which is incredible considering there is no air conditioning whatsoever, combine that with hard beds and a heat wave and the result is an unpleasant environment.
Restaurant for breakfast is good and so too are the staff and cleanliness is also good.
I would not return, just because the place has no soul or character.

Within minutes of arriving at the Collegium Leoninum we found out that the building also functions as a nursing home. This very much surprised us, since we didn't see this information online, while it does have an impact on the way the building is arranged. Still, this ofcourse doesn't have to be a problem.

At first glance our room looked tidy, though pretty dated in places. It was definitely spacious enough and the bed was comfortable. However, I'm sorry to say we did have some problems. First of all, even though it wasn't too warm outside when we stayed here, it was still pretty warm in the room, about 25 or 26 degrees Celsius. There is no way of cooling down apart from opening a window, which really makes me wonder if the hotel takes extra measures during extremely warm weather.

The hotel is located at a very central spot in Bonn, so there's that. The staff was also polite. All in all we did not hate this hotel, but unfortunately the most positive thing we can say about it, is that it is mediocre.

Thank you for the feedback on your stay with us. Unfortunately, for historical reasons, it is not possible to equip our hotel with air conditioning. Unfortunately, the massive masonry, in addition to many positive aspects, also means that after a long summer, the heat remains in the masonry for a long time. For your next stay we will gladly provide you with a free fan. Sincerely, Ruth van den Elzen - Hotel Director

We had car trouble and had to book an unexpected overnight stay at the hotel. Check in was at 15:00, but due to our situation we could come at 11:30.
The next day we needed medical care and they helped us to get an appointment at a dentist plus granted us a late check out.

I have nothing but compliments for the staff. Professional, kind and caring.

The family room we stayed in was big with good beds. The bathroom is a bit outdated but large. There is a fridge you can use and a small kitchenette.

The pool is very nice, we had it all to our selves in the evening. In the afternoon there was an aqua aerobics class for the permanent senior citizens, we felt we needed to leave then.

My only point of criticism concerns the breakfast. Although the choice is wide, the quality is very poor. Especially the bread and coffee are very low quality.

But if you skip breakfast it's a great place to explore Bonn. Good location, nice garden space

The room and the atmosphere were good. I thought it was insanely overpriced in relation to other hotels in the area. it is nice, but does not warrant the extremely high prices in my view. I had a burger and I didn't like it. The atmosphere was clinical, but the staff were friendly and helpful.

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel.

First the location - 10 minutes walk from the Train Station and an even shorter walk to the Citi Center. Despite that, the place is absolutely tranquil and there is no noise around. The hotel building looks impressive from outside and is truly spacious inside.

The Room was among the most spacious that we have ever stayed in. The entrance door opened in to a corridor which contained a kitchenette - we chose a room with a kitchenette - to its left and had the bathroom door to its right. Thereafter came the large bedroom containing a table, single seater sofa, a chair, comfortable bed/pillows and ample storage space with a Safe Deposit Locker. There was also a pedestal fan. The bedroom was separated from the corridor with doors.

The kitchenette contained a hob but not a microwave. The kitchen utensils were minimal but at our request, the reception staff did give us enough to make the kitchen functional. They did not have a cooking knife, but that did not deter us from cooking meals!

The bathroom was large and roomy and bright. The toiletries were of good quality and we were delighted to find two pairs of bath slippers for our use.

The staff were very hospitable and eager to please, every one of them! Their deportment was in keeping with the gentle and calm nature of the hotel that we loved.

The hotel is spacious and vast and one part of it is used as a senior citizens' home. We liked the presence of senior citizens because it gave the hotel a home like feel.

Breakfast was a good spread and the breakfast room was spacious and bright. We did not have any other meal at the hotel.

All in all, this hotel was calm, peaceful, spacious and classy, with great service.
