After reading the comments of other travellers I already was sorry that I had booked. In our experience it is not as bad as some say. Parking is difficult when you arrive in the evening but no problem when you arrive in the afternoon. Our room and the bathroom was clean. Of course this is not a five star modern...

The room was a bit cold and humid. Parking wasn't easy to find because the area around the hotel is quite densely populated so there is the according number of cars as well. Easy to find. The furniture were quite old.

Stayed in this hotel for the 'weihnachtsmarkten' with a friend. And I must say that the man at the reception was really friendly and helpful and the hotel was close to the S-bahn with a good connection to downtown Cologne. The hotel itself unfortunately desperately needs updating. The beds where old and not the most comfy ones and the linnen...

I cannot say how bad this hotel is. I have stayed in cheap hotels and have been ok-ish. This is a terrible terrible hotel. Broken bed which meant you had to climb during the night. Next to the busiest train line in koln which goes all through the night. Decor is probably early 70's and I do not mean it...

Stayed at the ARS Vivendi for business travel. The hotel is old, the decor the same but it is not clean and the staff was and the reception closes at night so you need a key to enter, close the fairground by train. Bad service and bad rooms. The staff was terrible.

Overall great Hotel! The price/satisfaction ration was awesome. We booked a double room, which was very simple, but also very clean and spacious. The location is great since it is about 100 feet from the S-Bahn station, which brings you downtown Cologne within 10 minutes. The area around is very nice and also has many restaurants and shoppes.

Area isn't the best and you're on the opposite side of the river to everything that's happening. It is a quiet area and there's normally somewhere to park. The hotel is old, the decor the same but it is clean and the staff are good. I stayed there many many times as a cheap and adequate place to rest.

Stayed a few months back at the ARS Vivendi. Small hotel in Lahnstrasse with clean rooms and a little bar on the ground level. The staff was nice and helpful but the reception closes at night so you need a key to enter. close to the fairground by train. nothing special but given the prices of hotels in cologne during...
