The ‘I’ is always a nice place to stay. A lot of attention to details, great beds, duvets and bathrooms. No disparity in Düsseldorf; super hotel.

But; the breakfast was a disaster. Due to Corona Virus we could only order from the menu which looked great. What ended up on our tables were quite different.

The bread was pre-cut and several hours old and air dried. The cut meat was so thin and tasteless that you thought you had not put it on the bread. French Toast also taste less, the scrambled egg an omelette and Bircher Muesli just simply not nice.

Next door there was a very noisy bar (Tony’s) and yet ‘I’ had decided not to open their bar. Great shame and obviously no reason for not opening when others can.

The staff was very service minded, smiled a lot and a great help.

Dear Valued Guest, thank you for reviewing your stay at InterContinental Dusseldorf. We are sorry to hear if your breakfast experience was not up to expectation on this occasion and have shared your comments with the respective department head to follow up. On a more positive note, we appreciate you highlighting our amazing team, attention to detail and of course our renowned beds – such praise is always gratifying to hear. Yes, our bar “Bar59” remains closed until we feel it’s the right time for a grand come back however we have since arranged for some pretty exciting alternatives that will surely satisfy our guest’s gastronomical cravings similarly. We have for instance resumed offering food and beverage service in our extended Lobby Lounge that also features selected dishes from the menu of our newly revamped Restaurant “Kö59” - inspired by celebrity Chef Björn Freitag. For latest information on what’s happening in the hotel please feel free to call us at +49 (0) 211 8285 0 or drop us a message at guestservice.duesseldorf@ihg.com. I had 25 people traveling in from all over the world for to participate in the Allegheny Technologies Incorporated Leadership Development Program for managers. I had several options available to choose from between Dusseldorf and Cologne and I'm thankful I chose the InterContinental Hotel in Dusseldorf. I worked with Miriam Roettger in the sales department for two months leading up to the event and she was so helpful. Working via email when there is a 7 hr. time difference, cultural differences and language challenges can be a bit overwhelming; however, Miriam made this seamless. I arrived ahead of my group and check in was very quick and extremely friendly. The rest of my group whom were flying in from all over Europe had their flights canceled due to bad weather. I worked with the hotel to ensure this delay wouldn't impact our participants when they were in deed to arrive. Management was wonderful to work and assured me our participants would have a room upon their arrival. Both Mohammed Bouskri and Thomas Krieger from the Concierge desk were outstanding to work with and very attentive to our needs. They helped arranged transportation from the airport for our participants, recommended restaurants and helped make reservations. I wouldn't have been able to provide such a world class experience for our leaders without the help of Miriam, Mohammed or Thomas. I'd be remiss if i didn't mention the front desk service, everyone was so nice, kind and helpful. A very wonderful experience from day 1.

We stayed at the Intercontinental for 3 nights (we had only planned for 2) and out experience was fantastic! The staff is unbelievable friendly and go always the extra mile to satisfy your needs.
Rooms have enough space and the bathroom was super clean which is at all times a big plus. Only detail I would change are the pillows but we all know that’s pretty much a very personal situation.

The day we arrived we had to dinner in the bar, we thought it would have to be some snacks but surprisingly they were able to serve us warm full dishes matching the good cocktails they have.

Check in and check out process was super quick and smooth.

I would highly recommend this hotel when you go to Düsseldorf by its location, installations and overall the great service.

A poor (or medium at very best) choice in Düsseldorf.

- stayed here for one night to visit some friends in Düsseldorf. Booked a standard room. This used to be an InterContinental. The rooms haven’t changed much in the rebrand, but seem to be lacking a few things. 1) insanely high temperature for water in the bathroom. I’m not exaggerating when I say the taps have to be moved in millimetre increments to avoid scalding oneself.
2) no properly-sized slippers - the only ones provided are probably a size 6 UK maximum. I rang to ask for larger and was told there were none.
3) an extremely limited room service menu overnight consisting of two pasta options, one pizza and one soup.
4) poorly designed bathroom sink taps that create floods of water on the sink counter.
5) various stains and marks on the blinds in the bedroom.

Service was average.

The room wasn’t ready until 5pm on arrival day, but the hotel would not offer a later check out to compensate, and front desk just shrugged their shoulders.

The breakfast restaurant has been renovated in a rather generic style, which is ok, but now only has one self service coffee machine for all diners to use themselves. No table service for even beverages.

The location of the hotel is good, as it was before, but that’s more or less it in terms of reasons to choose this over somewhere else.

Since we stayed in DUS also at the Breidenbacher Hof, I have to compare the Intercontinental with that one. In this respect the Interconti is only average. As everything starts with the first impression, it was not a very good one here: No one in front of the hotel to greet us, let alone open the car door or to help with the luggage - simply no bell boy there at all (found that out at the reception desk after asking about it). Also no valet parking, due to the Corona situation, but come on you cut down jobs and then are not able to run a 5* service but still charging the same price? Sorry, but not acceptable when I'm paying for 5*. Rooms are good and clean, but it is more for business stays, not leisure. Also no flowers in the room or lobby, along with no fruits in the room. Service is good, check-in was fast and professional.

I would not recommend this hotel.
Although it looks like a 5 star hotel it offers a 2 star service.
My hopes were high after a quick check in but things went downhill very quickly.
The front desk staff apart from the young man who checked me in were impolite and unwelcoming.
The breakfast staff apart from the lady who greets guests as they enter the breakfast room and 2 waiters were unfailingly rude, unhelpful and only interested in clearing up as opposed to serving the guests.
The hotel does not treat International guests well and there seems to be clear bias.
I put these issues down to very poor management who do not set a good example and do not hold staff to a high standard.
The support staff of cleaners, concierges and doormen did their jobs to a high standard and proved to be decent and helpful.

We travelled to Düsseldorf for four nights with our baby and we were so happy staying at this hotel. There was a bath and we were supplied with a nappy bin and a portable cot that was comfortable for our baby.
The hotel location was perfect for exploring Düsseldorf, the staff were friendly and went above and beyond, the lobby was lovely, the rooms cleaned well, spacious and well decorated. We were very happy staying here and would stay again.

Everything was perfect from the start ! Reception staff was really friendly and helpful and we got the chance to have our room before initial checkin time. The hotel and its common areas are splendid and really quiet for a hotel this size. Room was spacious and soundproof, making our stay really enjoyable. Having access to the Holmes Spa is a great add-on to the stay : sauna, hammam, swimming pool... an ideal spot to relax after a long day. Special mention for the breakfast : lots of choices and the possibility to request specific meal to the chef (benedict eggs were delicious !). A place to stay and to get back to !

We went there for a long weekend and we had a fantastic time at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and very efficient. The duty manager Mr. Mueller had done on fantastic job on us so traveling with a toddler was easy. Very nice food as well - room service was quite fast and breaky was yummy. Don't forget to visit little Tokio - stunning restaurants there. Ask the famous concierge for recommendations - he knows where to go. We had a fab time so thanks to all who make it happen!!!

hotel was great, the room was big and spacious. The location is also excellent. But the hotel's billing method is simply terrible! Take three rooms 900 euros for damages. They charged the credit (even though they didn't say they would do it and only later said it was a charge and not a retention of the amount) and it took a long time until they answered the phone more than three days until they answered me and sent me a refund confirmation, since we left the hotel he still hasn't received the refund, the reception manager Daniel Just disgusting and horrible hung up the phone in my face! We will never return

It is adjacent to the hotel. There is a lift that takes you there from several hotel floors. You do not need to go outside. It is super easy and no hassle at all. You could change in the hotel or use the locker rooms at Holmes Place.

For us, the InterContinental Clublounge has real added value. We even choose an InterContinental hotel on the availability of a Clublounge. In Düsseldorf, the Clublounge is on the 2nd Floor, overlooking the 10-Floor high atrium. You can book ‘clubroom’ (deluxe room and up).
