Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed 2 nights in a junior suite in January.
The room was spacious and quite nice. Bathroom very nice.

Food in the restaurant was good, not great. The one thing that raised the restaurant from a 3+ to a solid 4 was the bar. The selection of spirits and cocktails was good and the bartenders great.

The rooms are furnished in a minimalist Scandinavian style. Clean and nice, but clinical and sterile. The one very big negative with the room is that there’s no minibar. No water, nothing. If you want a bottle of water you will have to order cold from room service or bring your own and drink it lukewarm. That’s a deal breaker for me and the one thing making me not stay here again.

Stayed in a junior suite as a family of 4. The rooms is spacious with a modern layout and includes a coffee capsule machine, however for some reason that they claim is due to the environment friendly policy no fridge or mini bar. This is only in the suites the normal rooms have one. Breakfast was really good, due to COVID-19 they ask you to book a time slot, so there are not to many people around the buffet. The front desk staff even helped us with the luggage so a big thank you to Meiko for that. Parking is public access with the basement level having access to the hotel. The other plus is that the hotel is right in the centre of town. What a huge difference to the other Radisson property we stayed at in Baden Baden. We will stay here on our next visit, hope they have put fridges in the suites by then.

Dear Draftbear, thank you for taking the time to complete our guest satisfaction survey. We are thrilled to see, that you enjoyed your time at our Hotel and will stay with us also your next time in Trier. We renovated our suites last year and at the same time decided not to equip them with minibars. You always have the possibility to leave things to cool at the reception. We are looking forward to welcome you next time in our house. Best regards

This hotel was just an excellent experience, from making the booking all the way through check-in, the stay and departure. The rooms are of a reasonable size and clean. Also, everything actually worked. We have had good experiences at the Radisson Blue chain before but this hotel is exceptional.

We booked on line and then spoke to Stephanie in advance to ensure we had chosen appropriate rooms. When we arrived, she was at the desk and actually remembered our conversation 3 weeks before. The entire staff could not have been more helpful.

We chose breakfast included in the price. It was excellent. The food (buffet) varied slightly by day and was always replenished. It was well protected for Covid-19. One could also order from the menu.

Parking is under the hotel with a door to the lift lobby from level -1. Departure and packing up the car is super easy.

We had a suite and other members of our family had a standard room. The suite was immaculate with its own private terrace. It was a proper living room and bedroom set up, so we could spend time with the family without being on top of each other.

This hotel is simply superb. It is nicely laid out; it is situated in the centre of the fantastic town of Trier, and it is in every way a nice place to stay. It is modern and very clean. There is a nearby underground carpark which is connected to the hotel. The rooms are comfortable, and the sleep quality is 100% perfect with no noise at all. The only thing that cost this rating a star is the service.

When I visited it took ages to get serviced by a clearly overloaded waiter and the restaurant was full which is rather idiotic when they have not considered the number of guests they accommodate.

Will I stay again? No, here are better and more convenient hotels in Trier.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and had a carpark next door. It had a nice look and feel to the place. My only complaint is the mattress and pillows. The mattress in our room was like lying on concrete and the pillows are ridiculous. One oversized square pillow and one tiny square pillow no bigger than a chair cushion which was useless. Such a shame hotels don't take more pride in their mattress quality and comfort (as its kind of the main thing!). But other than that its a nice hotel and if you don't mind hard mattresses than its perfectly located and has lots to offer.

This hotel is not only very well located, it also has a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Rooms have very comfy beds and pillows so you'll get a great quality of sleep here. The service is excellent, in both the bar and the restaurant. We enjoyed the Christmas decorations and the common areas, this is a hotel with soul and personalit. We walked from here to the Christmas market and multiple museums. The only point that needs improvement is the breakfast, the coffee was average, limited bread selection and no pancakes or waffles, I have been to cheaper hotels with better breakfast. Parking is conveniently located and decently priced. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and the overall experience was great so we definitely will back to this hotel as we want to use the spa next time.

Stayed at the hotel for one night with my mom. Location is very central and walking distance to the train station. Rooms were good, no problems at all except the AC was difficult to figure how to to work. Breakfast was good, except the choices of bread and fruit could have been better, and they did not have pancakes (!!!). Staff is friendly, but somewhat confused. If you are visiting the wellness area, expect naked people. The wellness manager is super friendly, and massage was good. Make sure to book the massage through the hotel, otherwise the hotel will try to charge you extra for entrance to the wellness area. In summary - we had a good stay here!

Excellent hotel to discover Trier.
We had a superior room with enough space.
The breakfast is excellent and is open till 10.30.
The hotel is situated in the inner city so you can walk everywhere in most pedestrian streets.
Roman remains can be visited om foot.
You can eat at the hotel but there are many restaurants in the neighbourhood.
We had a pleasant stay here.

This was my second visit. It’s a great hotel. Staff is very friendly and highly professional. Super rooms. Had a good night sleep. Beds are very comfortable. The breakfast buffet in the morning gives you a perfect start into the day. Many choices. Also very helpful staff available. I highly recommend this hotel!!

I believe the breakfast starts at a later time on the weekends and holidays. Please check. If you are going from the main train station, then you can get a bus from outside the hotel which will take you there in less than 5 minutes. Taxis took longer to turn up !

Tamer K asked a question Dec 2019

Is the car parking free or not
Answer from ParkPlaza_Trier
Trier, Germany
There is a parking garage located underneath the hotel, which is connected to the lobby by stairs and an elevator. However, since it is a public parking garage that does not belong to the hotel, the Park Plaza Trier has no influence on the pricing and cannot offer its guests a discount for the use of the parking garage.
