The staff at the hotel was very friendly and the location of the hotel is very good in order to explore the city center of Trier. Also there is quite a lot parking spaces available.

The hotel is quite old-style. The bad part was that we could hear everything that was going on outside the hotel and even outside our room. So if you have noisy room neighbors it might be hard to find some rest

We found this small hotel just a block away from the Porta Nigra. The owner was awesome and we had a great room that was clean and well decorated. The hotel has a very good breakfast and the owner was very helpful.

I stayed at this hotel for one night as a stop over. The hotel is lovely and clean, the staff are very helpful and all speak English. The room was in the annexe which is at the back of the hotel was nice and peaceful, clean and comfortable. There was even a complimentary bottle of mineral water in the room, which I thought was a blessing after travelling all day. Breakfast was great and offered plenty of choice. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the Porta Nigra and the town centre and has it's own secure car park which is great as parking could be a problem in Trier. Overall I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the room, the quality of the breakfast, its location but most of all, the helpful and efficient staff. I'll be very happy to stay there again for longer.

First, I enthusiastically recommend the HOTEL PAULIN (on Paulinstrasse on block away) over Casa Chiara. Why? We arrived in Trier after a train journey, printed "reservation" in hand, and were told that there was no room reserved for us. The proprietor looked up my email thread and blamed me for not, apparently, specifically requesting a confirmation number even though I had accepted their offer and asked for details on how to pay. I was told we could pay upon arrival. This was upsetting, obviously, but the grim proprietor offered NO help such as giving another hotel a call for us. We went to the Porta Nigra tourist info and were kindly assisted in finding a beautiful room with gracious, good-humored proprietors. Saved! I can't recommend the Paulin enough! Avoid the Chiara and its grim lobby and proprietor! See my review for the Paulin.

I have stayed in this hotel many times on my walks along the Mosel.

It is well located for the Centre and has very comfortable rooms and the hospitality is good. There is English spoken

They do not have an evening meal but the breakfast is excellent. There is car parking and cycle storage. It is 15 minutes walk from the railwayand bus stations

I would not stay anywhere else

This hotel is in a good location being very near the centre, but consequently it can be noisy with road traffic, even though it is on a side road. The price for what you get is fine I suppose, and the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. But the hotel is built in such a way that you can hear noise from the people in the rooms adjacent to you and above easily. There is poor sound insulation. The room was small, adequate I guess for our two night stay. Bathroom adequate but basic with shower over bath. But it was clean. Breakfast was usual continental affair, but the dining area is a little " canteen like" and quite small. All in all okay for a Quick stop over but would maybe try somewhere else next time.

This small and very friendly Hotel is very well located for the historic sites and pedestrian areas of beautiful Trier, and only a short walk from the main station.
The rooms are not large but very good for a few nights stay.

I first found this hotel through the Trier tourism website and checked reviews on TripAdvisor before making my booking. I wanted to stay overnight at a moderately-priced hotel in a good location, and this was what Casa Chiara was.

The hotel is about 10 minutes away on foot from the train station, although the receptionist I spoke to advised that I should take a taxi since I was arriving late in the evening. Porta Nigra and the city center are around the corner from hotel.

I'd describe the hotel as typical of the 70s but probably newly repainted. The room was clean and spacious, with a large bed a flat screen television and a small table for two near the window. There is no free WiFi in the hotel. The rooms are not soundproof, as I learned since my next door neighbor seemed to have insomnia and was watching television at full volume. Be careful with the bathroom door and make sure that the door knob works properly before you decide to lock the bathroom door!

The breakfast area is charming and breakfast itself was adequate. Both persons at reception that I met were gracious and extremely helpful.

Perfect location a stone's throw from the Porta Nigra. Walked to every cultural site in Trier except the amphitheater from here in no time at all. Parking was in a very tight parking garage under the hotel but quite reasonable at 6 EUR per night. Rooms were very clean with a great shower. Room size, breakfast, and general amenities were adequate and completely consistent with a typical tourist hotel in this part of Europe. Design of the hotel is sort of amusingly weird mix of 70's northern European and Spanish.

This was a very good and reasonable priced hotel.

The man (I think the owner) did practically everything himself and I think that's why he could offer the quality he does at a competitive price.

The hotel is very well located on not even 5 minutes on foot from the city centre and it's Porta Nigra.

The rooms are spacious and clean.
It's also very quiet.

Breakfast was good and there was a parking at only 6 euro for a day.

I would definetely come here again if going to Trier again.

Wir Haben Trier eher als "homebase" benutzt und waren unter Tags und abends meist irgendwo an der Mosel. In Trier ist die "Kartoffelkiste" zu empfehlen.
