Went to Trier for the Christmas market. Room was clean and large enough for 3 people. Breakfast was good (7.50 euros a person) and worth it. Staff was friendly. Wi-Fi signal needs boosted and barely worked in the rooms. Parking (3 Euros) is about 2 blocks away in a garage.

if you are a great winetasting fan looking for a perfect place to stay right in the city centre (and for a reasonable price) this hotel is for you. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is quite substantial and the distance to the most interesting places in Trier is minimal. Enjoy your stay at the hotel and discover the perfect taste of German wines.

Stayed one night in June 2012 - small basic room with a shower-only bathroom. The decor is generally somewhat outdated, and the carpet was at best 'tired.' Location was convenient for the centre of Trier. In summary: adequate.

This hotel is a 20 minute or so walk from the train station, but what a walk!, past the stunning sights of Trier. It is just a few minutes or so from the old town sights, with a grocery store a couple minutes away.

The hotel itself is clean and quite comfortable with a great bed and shower and free WiFi. Breakfast was extra so we didn't buy it. We paid 75 euro a night for a double which is more than I usually want to pay, but since this hotel is so fine, I think it is a good value.

Top notch hospitality. Private garage for my car a BIG plus. Good breakfast. Great location. Only complaint was beds were a little stiff for my taste and I would have liked more blankets/larger comforter on the bed...but that's a European thing so I don't hold that against the hotel. They even let me keep my car in the garage for the day while I traveled. Internet connection is via LAN cable but worked really well. I was able to use skype with no problems. I will recommend this hotel to my friends when they visit Trier. There is a restaurant around the corner that says Pizza, Antipasta, etc....I forget the name now but it's a couple blocks after you turn left out of the hotel. Don't let the sign and the outside of the restaurant fool you. That is some of the best Italian food I have had. I had a lamb shank with cherry and thyme sauce...delicious!! I highly recommend it!

I have been to Trier before but this time I wanted to stay in the center, so I chose Hotel Deutschherrenhof and was not disappointed.

This hotel is a small, probably family run hotel. When we arrived we were greeting quite nicely by the staff. They were quite friendly and even helped bring the bags to the room.

The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a little small but we didn't have any problem with it.

The hotel parking is one block away in an underground garage. We have quite a large car and managed without problems getting it in. I wouldn't want to go in and out very often (it is a little tight), but this was not necessary since we were there to see Trier. Sometimes in Trier it is very difficult to find a parking spot so I was grateful that the hotel had this.

About two blocks away (less than a 5 minute walk) is the Kaufhof and the historic center of Trier.

Breakfast the next day was quite nice. We were greeted by the same man (I think he is the owner). We was cheerful and helped us with our seats and getting us coffee. It was a cold breakfast but there was a decent selection of things to eat.

One bit of warning, there is no elevator. We don't have problems with stairs but if you do, you should be aware of this.

Overall it was a very nice stay in Trier. This small, family run hotel gave us a very warm feeling and we will probably stay here again.

We had a triple room, three separate box springs, bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin. Everything looked new or newly renovated. We knew there was no elevator so we were relieved that our room was on the first floor up from the base floor. Room was at the back of the hotel and quiet at night. Breakfast was rich and very good. All staff members were very kind and helpful in answering questions about the city.

Tourist attractions and a wide variety of restaurants were in a range of 500 meters to 2-3 km max. from the hotel. City is remarkably clean due to a large project where birdwire and anti-pigeon-pins were installed on all window sills and eaves. So all facades - that were beautifully painted and finished - still stay clean after years. All together both hotel and city were just great.

In fact, there was nothing that we didn't like. All was exactly as we expected and even better.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the backside of the hotel, these are real quiet.

We stayed in this hotel with friends on our way back to Calais having been on the Romantic Road coming from Austria where we had been for Christmas. Having read the previous reports I was more than a little doubtful. However, we found this hotel to be a real surprise. The room was modern, clean with two large beds. There is no lift and the stairs are a little steep but we did not find them unmanageable. The breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. The hotel is situated close to the main town. We had pre-booked our parking which was in a garage and only a short walk from the hotel. You can stop outside the hotel to unload, but if you have not pre-booked the parking you might have to park on roads not close to the hotel. We would certainly not hesitate to book this hotel again.
