Great hotel oozing history and style
it feels more like a castle than a hotel. The entrance is a massive, thick wooden portal, just like a castle. It is super well kept, in a quiet yet pretty big square next to the port.

The interior is in stone, has high ceilings, stairs are made of stone.

The rooms are nice, normal size, beds are comfortable, bath and shower small but stylish; there are no blinds rather wooden m

There are four towers, a roof top terrace and in one if the tower you can go to the top and enjoy an amazing view of the town.

Staff is very nice and ready to satisfy any request.

Historic building with modern facilities and helpful staff
We stayed here for 2 days in January, during which it rained heavily and frequently (very out of character for Cadiz). The staff were wonderful, and gave us use of the tumble dryer to dry out our clothes.
The hotel was beautifully restored in 2016, and offers stylishly simple accommodation. The rooms feature original stonework, and where they have been plastered, it is left the original colour of the render. It creates a very peaceful and calm effect. The large windows feature heavy wooden shutters, which are brilliantly effective at shutting out any light at night.

Locationwise, it is just on the edge of the historic centre. Within 5 minutes walk are a myriad of bars and restaurants.

Lourdes, Lourdes and Anna were all really helpful, as well as being charming.

There are no restaurant facilities as such, but they do offer an extensive breakfast, mainly cold, which I would recommend.

The roof terrace offers great views over the city, although we didn't get to use it in the same way as other reviewers due to the constant rain. I'd recommend a trip to Cadiz, particularly from the historical aspect, and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Some rooms have internal windows only so perhaps ask for one with a view

A Unique Hotel in a Lovely XVIIIth Century Building
A stunning building which has been restored to a good level without losing it's charm. Our bedroom was lovely with some bare stone walls, and a spacious bathroom with a shower (apparently only the suites have baths). The breakfast room is lovely being decorated in period style. Breakfast choice was excellent and staff were willing to make other items available eg cappuccino or chocolate drink.
There is a lovely roof terrace which is an ideal spot to catch some rays but still getting a breeze, from there one of the 4 towers is accessible using your room key to get great views over Cadiz. I believe many of the rooms like our's only face in towards the centre atrium but the air conditioning is very efficient. If you have limited mobility this might not be the hotel for you as the entrance is up 3 or 4 awkward steps. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here although we were only staying for 2 nights. The location is very good being about 20 mins walk from the railway station & literally 50 metres from C. Honduras which is the start of a lovely walk along the northern coast edge of the city to parks, forts and a beach.

What a fabulous find!
We loved this hotel. We loved the location (in the old town but right near the water), we loved our room (stylish, big, supremely comfortable), we loved the bathroom (great shower), we loved the breakfast (everything you could want), we loved the service (the women who worked at the front desk were AMAZING and so kind and helpful). I would return to this hotel in a flash. We stayed there for four nights and enjoyed every minute of it.

Lovely building, lovely rooms, lovely linen, lovely location, lovely staff
Says it all really! We had a special offer, and loved our stay. Would happily return. Parking also easy on the secure outdoor parking lot by the harbour, but get permit from reception even if just dropping off/picking up luggage.

2 Nights in Cadiz
Very characterful hotel, with rooms around a central stairwell, forming part of an historic building. Views from the roof terrace and tower are stunning. Our room was characterful, with air conditioning (and, for once, a kettle plus a few supplies!) After our second night we had to leave very early, to catch a train back to Sevilla. Since Breakfast is only served from 08.30 onwards (till 11.00 AM), one of the Reception staff offered to make us a "picnic" for the following morning. This was left outside our room for collection. Not only had they made a lunch picnic, there was a covered plate with several slices of cake, plus tea sachets, in case we wanted to eat a light breakfast before leaving. They also kindly booked a taxi for us, as the Hotel staff come on ready for the breakfast shift - they do leave a number for emergencies overnight though.

Our travel company made the booking for us originally, with a request for an external room. This could mean that some rooms do not have an external window. It could be wise to check when you book to avoid disappointment.

Just one more thing - Breakfast is taken in a very traditional, beautifully furnished "dining room" on the ground floor, just off Reception. Continental style breakfast, plentiful and beautifully presented. All in all a great stay!

Beautifully restored and great location
Beautifully restored and great location to explore the old city through the narrow and mainly car-free streets. A short walk from the, sea front and 10 mins from the main square. We stayed for four nights in one of the rooms without an external window which had the advantage of being extremely quiet. Room was well equipped with smallish but adequate en suite. Very clean and serviced every day.
We were made very welcome by the staff who could not have been more helpful (and spoke very good English). Although there is no car park, this was not a problem as they have spaces to drop off luggage and a parking space 30m away. The main car park is a 5 minute walk away. Would definitely recommend.

Friendly, helpful staff, great location
I was here for three nights in a single room , with breakfast. The room are not elegant, but very comfortable, very clean, and have lots of charm. I had a balcony looking out unto a small plaza with trees. There was no noise at night. There is a shower, no tub. The bed was made with lovely linens. The breakfast buffet was not huge, but everything homemade and, I think, anything you might want: fruits, wonderful breads, jams , savory , sweet pastries, american or espresso coffee. I certainly will stay here again if I return to Cadiz

Not worth it
This place seems really cool in the photos but in reality it is very tired. We stayed in the family suite which was a good size for us and our two kids, it is centrally located and the front desk staff is nice. But the furniture is very old, things are a bit damp/ musty and in the main bedroom bedroom in the suite there is a door which seems to be a service entrance that leads to a balcony. While we were just out of the shower and not yet dressed, the housekeeping woman walked straight in without even knocking. While she apologised profusely it wasn’t acceptable and didn’t provide any comfort surrounding both security and privacy. For the cost, I would not recommend.

Good value for money
We stayed here for 2 nights and we loved it. Our room had all the amenities cooker, fridge etc. and a separate bedroom. Everything was in good order and attended to every day. The optional breakfast, served in a small dining room, had lots of choice all very fresh. The highlight of the hotel is the tower that you can visit and enjoy spectacular views over Cádiz, wonderful. Cádiz is quite small so it’s not far from the main places of interest but far enough to be very peaceful.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
We’re looking forward to our next visit.
