We stayed for 7 days, and all in all, we are mildly content with the experience. Pros: - pleasant staff - nice beds - good breakfast with a lot of variety - clean - spacious rooms Cons: - walls were thin, we could hear the room next to us snore and other things... - pool not heated - many amenities were closed (dont know if this was because if season, or if it was permanent) - not much to do within walking distance of the hotel.

My daughter got married here a week ago . 80 guests came over from various places to celebrate We were there for 8 days - POSITIVES :- Staff from each department were fantastic from the time we arrived to the time we left ,everyday they all had a genuine smile on their faces & nothing was too much trouble -brilliant The wedding was exceptional and well organised from start to finish Bars always very friendly and well staffed Restaurants were good , especially as buffet and all inclusive The pools were spotless I would say the best all round AI I have been to NEGATIVES:- The pools did not open until 11 am, far too late for a big holiday hotel General food choice good , although not always as hot as it should be Reception staff although excellent I felt they were understaffed there which did result in waiting longer than you should All in all, for the size of the hotel the staff made us feel important and looked after us I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is thinking of getting married here and bringing a lot of guests with them WELL DONE SOL MELIA ESTEPONA AND TNX FOR A GREAT STAY!!!!!!!!!

The delightful Raquel on the front desk really made our trip very special, she alongside John were very helpful in suggesting places to visit, we’ve been to the area many times but they were able to suggest amazing places we hadn’t seen. The surprise of sparkling wine and chocolates was amazing, we just mentioned in passing to Raquel that we are celebrating 50 years of marriage and she very kindly arranged for this unexpected gift.

Very nice hotel , nice staff and ideal for families. Lots of good walks from there. The only thing which was pretty intolerable was the late night entertainment from the adjoining hotel which made it impossible to get to sleep before it ended after 11.00pm. For that reason alone I won’t stay there again

We are still at the hotel. There are so many positive things to say about this hotel so I’ll start with the positives. The free WiFi is excellent, our room is big, modern, well furnished, decent sized TV with lots of English channels, free safe and the bathroom is big & modern and our maid excellent. The food really is superb, such a lot of choice for every course & the fish and desserts are first class. We have nothing but praise for the restaurant staff, they are so efficient, clear away dirty dishes and reset tables for new guests so there’s never a queue even in the busiest periods. Food is replenished constantly, always enough plates, cups and cutlery. The chefs are pleasant, friendly and happy to discuss ingredients. The grounds are amazing, well kept, lots of areas in which to sit, plenty of parasols and sunbeds and a quiet pool with lifeguard away from the children’s pool. There are buses running regularly (at the end of the street about 15 mins walk from reception) into Marbella and Estepona fares are €1.40 each per journey so it’s easy & cheap to get around. Why only 3 stars? There is only one bar open and it caters for families with children. It is big and it feels like a canteen or a working man’s club. The activity staff whip the children up into a frenzy of excitement, the microphones are too loud and children are running and screaming everywhere. We have not seen a single night of entertainment because we simply cannot sit in the bar with the children running around. The hotel is not catering for couples and there are far more couples and adult groups than families. When we booked we saw 5 bars advertised. There are amazing well furnished areas in this hotel but they’re closed up. I know the hotel isn’t at full capacity but PLEASE cater for couples. We are chatting to others and we are all going to our rooms after the evening meal or walking 15 minutes to local bars. The hotel is missing an opportunity to sell drink and services to the majority of their guests. I trust this review is taken to be constructive rather than overly critical. The situation can easily be remedied. Management please take note.

Dear Janet, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Sol Marbella Estepona Atalaya Park with the TripAdvisor community, it helps us to grow and improve. First of all, we regret that during your stay only one of our bars was open. The opening hours and opening times vary depending on occupancy and seasonality, something that is indicated on our website. Our hotel is a family hotel with a very powerful animation that makes us a destination for many families, we are sorry if for this reason, your satisfaction was not complete. Of course, your criticism is constructive and we will work on it to continue growing and offering our guests our best service. We are really happy with the rest of the points mentioned in your comment. Meeting guest's expectations is a base on which we constantly work and seek to improve. We are glad it was possible thanks to our rooms, which seek the greatest comfort for our guests and their rest; our restaurant, which is not lacking in quantity, variety and of course, quality; and above all, thanks to our staff. Being united and focused on the guest is our maxim, and day by day we work to transmit it, with pleasure and dedication. If you decide to return to the Costa del Sol, we would be delighted to welcome you again, and do not hesitate to tell us personally those aspects in which we can improve, to solve them during your stay and to make it more pleasant. Yours sincerely, Aitana Aguilar Guest Experience Team

I had a truly enjoyable experience during my stay at this hotel. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the hotel and its staff. Staying at this hotel was a delightful experience, with clean and well-maintained rooms that provided a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The beach and pool areas were also quite enjoyable, offering a relaxing and refreshing escape. Furthermore, the lobby and restaurant exuded a sense of elegance and charm, making my time at the hotel even more enjoyable. The staff's attentiveness and friendliness added to the overall positive impression, making my stay a memorable one.

I was a bit nervous after reading mixed reviews, but hotel was nice.It is located 50 minutes drive from Malaga airport. We had all inclusive package.Food was ok,but nothing special and a bit cold.Prices are quit high in the hotel, ice lolly at 3 euros. If you are looking for a beach holiday it's not a good choice.Hotel is located 15 minutes by bus (L2)from Estapona town centre and about 20 minutes from Marbella (L79). Standard family room was spacious with big bathroom and cleaned daily.Realy nice ,modern hotel but a lot of walking involved.Evening entertainment more for adults than kids.Staff really nice and helpful.Overall nice hotel, but I would not book again due to its location, parking fees and lack of entertainment nearby.

Dear Anna, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Your feedback is very important to us and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry that our location is not exactly what you were looking for in terms of proximity to the city centre. Many guests love our seafront location because it is set away from the bustling city life, yet close enough that a short trip (10-15 minutes) takes them to many popular spots. On the other hand, We are very pleased to read that you found our staff to be helpful and genuinely friendly at all times. We look forward to seeing you again so we may regain your trust with a better experience. Kind regards Paula Casares Guest Experience Manager

This hotel is very large with a lot of walking between facilities. The rooms are good with large bathrooms and the cleanliness is excellent. We stayed on an all inclusive basis which was NOT all inclusive. Ice creams had to be paid for slices of cake at the coffee bar had to be paid for. There was only one restaurant open even though the hotel was heaving and it was so noisy as were the public areas as it was all open plan . For some quiet we had to sit in reception area. The food choice was good albeit a little cold. Pool towels when changed when they were wet were charged at 1 euro! The hotel is not located near any outside bars and the beach is stoney. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Dear Chrissy, The vision of our clients is the key to complete guest-satisfaction, therefore we are very grateful for the time you spent writing this review. We understand reading your review that apparently you were not properly informed about your All Inclusive type of meal plan upon reservation and would like to take the opportunity to point out that the All Inclusive is related to drinks, meals and snacks in our buffet restaurant. Other services and food or drinks are reported to be available with an extra charge. Thank you again for making us your choice hotel on this occasion, we look forward to serving you again in the near future. kind regards Paula Casares Guest Experience Manager

Currently at this hotel. Have to say the the buffet food has been very good BUT we paid for All Inclusive which is a complete waste of time! 3 of the restaurants are closed and if they were open at least 2 of them had a supplemental charge. There is a small and large pool but even with AI we can’t use the small one. The only place to eat apart from the buffet is a very tiny area near the swimming pool which at lunch time has the food removed, and then to eat in that area at lunchtime you have to pay. It’s a long walk from the rooms to the restaurant and bar.The one bar in operation is extremely loud and you can’t hear yourself talk. Up to now the entertainment has been poor at best. The beach is extremely rocky at the waters edge, definitely not ideal for kids. I have just changed my beach towel and had to pay 1 euro for that. The room/bathroom is nice, so ideally stay in your room, eat at the buffet and enjoy the various golf courses. Other than that don’t bother!
