We stayed here for a weekend break in January.

The hotel is extremely well located and despite our room facing the pedestrianised street we were not disturbed by noise. The finish of everything in the hotel is of a very high standard- they didn't take any short cuts when they were building it. The room was small but perfectly acceptable, and the bathroom was great.

Staff were friendly and helpful throughout without being in your face at any point.

Breakfast in the covered courtyard is a very calm way to start your day with everything you need available.

All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We usually visit Malaga several times a year, and we stay in the other luxury hotel of the city.
This last time we wanted to try the new Palacio Solecio, from Small Luxury Hotels, as we read great reviews in the press.
The hotel location couldn’t be more central, so it was great for us to walk everywhere both for shopping and to the restaurants.
The building is beautiful and the interior decor is very classy. We booked a Double Superior room and it was just perfect.
The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom very modern with a big walk-in shower, and their shower gel is simply... wow!
Breakfast was nice and was served in the patio. We didn’t have lunch nor dinner in the restaurant, but it seemed really popular among locals as it looked always full.
The staff was friendly and smiley, and they really looked after us.
We will be back for sure!

Just returned from a three night stay with my good wife .
well what can I say in short ? stayed 4th to the 7th Jan 2020
Amazing !
First of all the staff , so friendly welcoming and helpful, they will go out of there way for you and the extra mile . Our cases were taken to our room where we was shown around and even on our departure insisted on taking our cases up to the taxi rank even after we said it was ok . a big thanks to them from us.(Mr and Mrs Taylor) they are a credit to the hotel.
Secondly the hotel Absolutely Beautiful , Fantastic location and all furnished to a very high standard . mini bar well stocked, beds nice and big firm but soft , maid came in every day and even turned your bedding back in the evening while you're out enjoying Malaga.
we have been to Malaga a few times for winter breaks and will return again but the one problem we will not have next time is where to stay as it will be the Palacio Solecio.
if you book here you will not be disappointed !!!!

Great hotel. Recently renovated and opened and according to a lot of reviews a welcome addition to Malaga's hotel scene; I'd agree.

The history and professional reviews form journalists and travel bloggers are easy to find so no point repeating any of their commentary, I'm just a humble holiday maker.

Pros:
Hotel is right in the middle of the old town and is a stones throw from the major sites, main shopping street, Alcazaba, Teatro Romano, etc.
Lots of eating options nearby covering all meals of the day
Really close to the new modernised port where the Pompidou Centre is located
Excellent staff
Grand setting
Traditional Moorish renovation

Cons
Not many, some rooms are on to the Calle Grenada which can get quite busy but the windows are well soundproofed. Our room had a balcony looking down on to the street and it was actually quite good fun to watch the street activity with my morning coffee
Probably a bit pricier than other options in the City

Summary
If you're in Malaga for the culture and a nice stay this is a perfect location and option

Stayed for one night only enroute to Cordoba. Have to say will definitely visit Malaga on an extended visit and will stay here.
Beautiful building, architects and designers have done a fantastic job. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and very helpful. We had breakfast and it was very good.
The location is perfect, in a pedestrian area of the old town, a taxi rank is 2 minutes walk up the street. The castle and cathedral are also minutes away. For me the best bit, there are nice bars, tapas bars, bodegas and restaurants all around the hotel. All good quality and all with a relaxed nice vibe. If you going to spend a few nights in Malaga, stay here!

The hotel is superb! Walk out of the front entrance and you are within minutes of a number of places of interest but inside areas are peaceful and quiet.

The standards of cleanliness in all areas are high. All the staff we encountered were friendly, efficient, well trained and customer focussed.

Staying on a Bed & Breakfast basis is ideal as there are so many eateries within a 15 minute walk.

Breakfast included a buffet selection of fruits, bread, cheese, meats, smoked salmon, yoguts, cereals etc.plus a generous menu of cooked options made to order which arrived piping hot and freshly cooked. The restaurant is an oasis of calm and, as everywhere in the hotel, clean and well appointed.with attentive staff on hand to assist and ensure you have a great experience.

The room was well appointed, the bed was comfortable, aircon efficent and the bathroom supplied with high quality toiletries. Rainfall shower with a hand held option and good water pressure. Choice of multiple TV channels and good WiFi. Turn down service each evening included 2 bottles of water. No Tea/Coffee making facilites in the room so take a kettle if you like a late night/early morning beverage - there is a minbar charged extra.

Would definitely recommend and should we visit Malaga again in the future would find Palacio Solecio hard to beat.

Thanks to all for a wonderful short break!

Stayed here for a couple of nights over Christmas break. According to the staff the hotel had just opened two weeks ago but they were so professional you could hardly tell!
Fantastic location smack in the middle of the old town. The building is incredible with beautiful patios and amazing high ceilings (our room was on the 2nd floor).
The street was a little overcrowded but we were told that it was because of the holidays since the locals are very festive and are always out strolling. But I guess that adds to the local charm.
Arrived quite tired on the first night so we decided to have dinner at the hotel. Beautiful restaurant in an old patio with excellent food and friendly waiters who really gave the impression that they loved their job and were proud to be working here.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in Andalucia.

Moorish interior with really elegant public spaces stylishly lit to give a cool atmosphere. Our room was cleverly lit to change the atmosphere for dressing or just chilling out. Ate at the hotel one night which was really good. No water in the room so grabbed some from the shop next door no great problem. Great location for re-exploring the old quarter of Malaga and near to the Alcazaba, Gilbrafaro, Cathedral No external space but there is the Marina and the Malagueta beach with their Bars and Chiringuitos just a few minutes away. The team managing the Hotel are behind some others we know, so they have very high standards and know the boutique market It's great see a new, really elegant and well designed venue appear in Malaga.

Before I start, I rarely post negatively. However, on arrival placed In a deluxe double twin room, which was beautiful but no window or view. On going to reception was then shown a double room which was beautiful and I have to say that the reception staff dealt with it very quickly and professionally.
The hotel is stunning, excellent location and exceptional clean.
However we were celebrating a special birthday, prior to arrival, I phoned and emailed asking for perhaps cake and chocolates to be placed in the room, even offering to pay. No reply from email, nothing in the room. This is a 4th star boutique hotel, which is not cheap, so a special extra touch would definitely have ensure a higher rating.
Breakfast, had to wait 15 minutes to be seated in a beautiful area, where there were only 2 couples dining. Majority of the tables not ready, felt disappointed as at 22 € for breakfast was not expecting the area to be Under staffed or be served by staff that were rude.
Elements of the hotel have the wow factor, concierge were amazing, bathroom had fabulous shower and biggest towels I've seen in a hotel, shame the details let it down.

We stayed in the Tower suite which was a quirky and fabulous feature of this lovely hotel. The room design is very stylish with great lighting, the beds are so comfortable with high quality linen. Breakfast is delicious, I did notice some staff are still learning on the job, although can’t speak highly enough about Ivan in the bar and the male head reception manager. I highly recommend a stay here right in the hustle and bustle of the old city.
