Hotel category 3 stars, located just 300 meters from the beach of La Carihuela and the center of the fishermen's district, now an international tourist destination, where we will find a wide variety of shops, restaurants and cafés. The hotel has a large and well-kept garden that has a small pool as well as a cafeteria that offers a wide range of drinks and a small snack offer. Just 10 meters from the hotel there is a bus stop to quickly connect to the urban center of Torremolinos and the city of Malaga (in addition to the airport and High Speed train station, also accessible by train at Montemar station just 500 meters from the hotel). Close and familiar treatment, good atmosphere, cordiality and excellent quality / price ratio are the main values offered by the hotel staff formed by professionals in the sector.

We booked this hotel based on price and location it was good value very clean with a large bedroom which looked towards Benalmadina so got sun in afternoon and evening. All staff were very pleasant and helpful and we enjoyed our stay. Im sure other people have mentioned it is a five minute walk to the beach and bus stops right outside.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this lovely hotel. We spotted this hotel during a previous trip and liked its location and having read the reviews we booked. We weren’t disappointed. The staff go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable stay, nothing is too much trouble. We had a lovely 3rd floor room overlooking the pool area and the hotel gardens which were both clean and well maintained. It was lovely to either sit by the pool or enjoy a beer from the bar in the garden. Our room was cleaned, beds made and towels changed each day. The hotel itself is absolutely spotless. It’s only a short walk to the promenade of La Carihuela where you can chose to walk to either Benalmadena Marina or to Torremolinos. There’s a bus stop outside the hotel, with frequent services to Fuengirola and Mijas which are well worth a visit. The local train service is great and the Montimar stop, walking downhill, is the closest to the Carmen Teresa. This year we took the ferry from Fuengirola port to Benalmadena Marina €10 one way for a 55 minute trip. It was lovely to take in all the coastline. So as well as this being a great hotel it is in a fabulous location if you are wanting to explore this area. Plenty to do, whatever time of year you visit. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return. Thank you to all staff for a lovely week. Fiona and Eamonn

It was 4 or 5 years ago we visited the Carmen Teresa and again we were happy with our stay. The location is excellent 2/3 minutes to the promenade were you can walk to the end of Torremolinos to the end of Benalmadena which must be about 12 miles if you are so inclined. The bus stop is right outside to go to Malaga, Mijas or Fuengirola also the train station at Montemar Alto is close by.
A well priced hotel if you like to be out and about. The rooms are basic but have everything you require, decent size room with a modern bathroom had a new air conditioning unit, fridge (a bit noisey) television and kettle. It perhaps could have done with a picture or 2 to break up the rather basic feel to the room.
They did offer a very basic breakfast but after the first try did not bother again.
The garden area which was just coming into flower is a lovley space, however the pool had not been filled so this did give an air of desalation ( not sure if this was covid related or the drought they had been exeirencing).

A little gem of a hotel. This family run hotel really is home from home. We arrived late in the evening and were warmly greeted at reception. Check-in was quick and we were allocated our room immediately. The bed was so comfy with clean fresh bedding, a double wardrobe with plenty of hangers and shelves to one side which was ample storage for both of us. The bathroom was very modern a great shower with constant hot water, the room also has a kettle which we were glad to have. The Aircon is excellent and a God send on those warmer nights. The balcony has a table with 2 chairs, we were to the back of the hotel therefore we had a mountain view. Free WiFi throughout the hotel. There are rooms to the front which overlooked the main road. The pool, garden and sunbathing areas are immaculately kept and lovely to relax around. Our room was cleaned daily, fresh towels, loo roll provided and a lovely housekeeper who takes great pride in her work and seemed to love her job, always greeted the guests on the corridors. The bus stop is right outside the hotel, €1.70 per journey no matter how long or short a journey. We travelled to Málaga City, Mijas, Torremolinos centre. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the beach, where you'll find all the restaurants, bars etc. An Aldi and Lidl a short walk away.

The staff... What can we say, absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they definitely go over and beyond to help their guests. One lady in particular at reception is a wealth of information of places to visit providing us with bus routes, bus numbers, bus stops to get to different towns and villages, she really knows her stuff. Not once did we ever pass reception that we were not acknowledged or greeted by the staff.

This was our 1st time staying at a family run hotel, the personal service provided here could never be met in any of the large corporate hotels anywhere.

This hotel is a hidden gem. I would highly recommend Hotel Carmen Teresa... Thank you all for looking after us so well. We have fallen in love with Hotel Carmen Teresa and we will definitely return in the future...

We stayed here as a result of booking a super last minute week long holiday.

There is nothing overly fancy here but that's what is so great about it. It has the basic amenities you want on a holiday but because its hidden away and not one of the gigantic hotels you will find dotted along the beach/marina it also gives you plenty of peace.

As of result of it being a smaller hotel, when you went into the garden pool area, there were seldom ever more than another 4 people around so you could relax by the pool or have a swim to cool off in total tranquility. The pool is great because while only being a relatively small pool - only going as deep as 160cm - it's located in a lovely green garden with various shaded and unshaded areas to bathe in, surrounded with a nice array of plant life.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with everyone offering a passing 'Ola' as you met them.

The location is great as the hotel is a 5 minute straight walk from the beach and the boardwalk of restaurants and small shops, with the Marina only being a 20 minute or so walk along the beach front.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would gladly come back again. It's a small but sweet hotel and definitely played a part in us enjoying our holiday.

Also, absolutely amazing hotel WiFi.

The Carmen Teresa is a lovely family owned hotel with approximately 40 bedrooms and is quite possibly the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. It won't suit everybody because it is situated on a rather busy road but it doesn't bother me one bit and when the balcony doors are closed you hear no road noise whatsoever inside and the attractive garden and pool area to the rear is incredibly tranquil too. The beautiful beach of La Carihuela is only a 5 or 6 minute stroll away down a slight hill, where you will also find a huge selection of shops, bars and restaurants. There's a bus stop just seconds away from the hotel, so exploring the area is made simple and incredibly cheap. There's even a new Aldi store just a short walk from the hotel too.
To keep this review real I have mentioned the road, the bedroom walls too would probably be a bit thin for some and the water system can be noisy at times but overall I love this hotel. The staff can't do enough for you, the location is terrific, the price is so competitive and it's only a 20 minute transfer from the airport .
I've stayed at the Carmen Teresa three times now and will definitely be staying there again

This is such a lovely hotel, we have just spent 8 nights in room 306, lovely garden and swimming pool view, really peaceful hotel, rooms serviced every day including towel changes, staff are just amazing, so genuinely nice, they can’t do enough for you.
The breakfast was great and well worth the 3.50 euros
Hotel is convenient for train station going into fuengirola or Malaga central.
We will definitely return one day,

My husband and I have had a lovely 5 night break at this charming traditional Spanish Hotel.

The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help. Our room 306 was cleaned daily to a high standard and overlooked the pool and garden areas. The beds were comfy and room quiet.

The pool and gardens are beautiful with pretty flowers/well kept. There are adequate sun loungers and chairs we never struggled to get one at any point over our stay no having to leave towel down which I hate. Drinks were reasonable and breakfast 3.50 euros for toast with jams and coffee plus orange juice if you wanted it.

The hotel has great proximity to both Torremolinos and Benalmadena on foot so a great location. 5 min walk to beach bars, restaurants and shops - you’re spoilt for choice.

We will be back 100% hopefully in 2022 and for many years to come as we always try to have a second holiday each year in this fab resort. There is so much on the doorstep to do with great train links.

We have stayed in many dearer hotels in both Benalmadena and Torremolinos and found this hotel charming and extremely good value for money with EasyJet.

Thanks to the hotel for a wonderful break x

From the first moment you enter this family run hotel you feel at ease, almost like part of the family. The rooms are spotless, and have everything you need , the location couldn’t be better, 2 mins walk to the beach , bus stop outside the door. The garden and pool area is just beautiful with established plants , totally tranquil.

I'm not sure where to start, after reading the reviews we thought we'd found a gem, we had not. Yes the hotel is clean and Nicola the receptionist/bar person/server/everything person was helpful, kind, funny and the only staff member with any knowledge of anything. They ran out of bread and drinks constantly, do not be fooled the bar snacks consist of cheese & ham toasties or greasy bacon and egg oh and toast the prices were inconsistent, one day 4 euros for 2 teas the next 6 euros, they offer cocktails but no one knows how to make them, the garden and hotel was full of ants, everyone had been bitten, the pool a constant milky colour and full of chemicals. The beds are like bricks, with only one pillow so hard, rooms small and dated, shower leaked and flooded the floor, husband couldn't fit in the toilet space, oh the balcony was big with sunloungers on, this isn't the case with all the rooms, I could go on, I felt like we were staying a Fawlty Towers and Basil would walk in at any time, in hind sight we should've left. Oh the main road it's on is loud and very busy constantly and the hill is very steep to go up and down to beach area. On the last day we were offered a cold shower room to get changed, most hotels at the very least have hot water for guests checking out eatly when no late checkout is available, I've tried to be honest and we were just very disappointed with the service. 5 stars to the cleaners and Nicola for giving it there all. I wouldn't go back if it was free.
