Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Melia Sevilla captivates many with its modern elegance and warm atmosphere, while the hotel's strategic location earns kudos for its accessibility to public transport and attractions, despite occasionally being a stretch on foot. Guests celebrate the cleanliness of the spotless rooms, although some suggest there's room for improvement. The Level lounge and pool are highlights, though the latter can get crowded.
While the service receives mixed reviews, ranging from commendable professionalism to moments of unresponsiveness, the value for money debate continues, with some guests praising the reasonable rates, especially for Level guests, yet others grapple with costly add-ons and loyalty discount concerns. Room experiences vary, with the size and design often appreciated but marred by issues like noise and maintenance.

Detailed Reviews
My husband & I stayed at the Meliá Sevilla and were initially allocated room 634, but the bathroom had a horrendous musky smell from the drainage. After raising the issue, the staff quickly moved us to room 638 the following day, which was a big relief. The tiled floors in the rooms pick up a lot of dirt, so I highly recommend bringing slippers, as they aren’t as clean as they appear. The hotel could improve by using proper floor cleaner, rather than just a quick sweep.
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, but found it very basic and were concerned about the hygiene; I was worried I might have caught a bug from it. The swimming pool was always too busy, and the spa was closed during our stay. The Meliá app is handy for requesting amenities, like a kettle. The location is great, about a 15-20 minute walk to the city centre, and very close to the Plaza. We tried room service once—it was decent, served in a bento box with cutlery. Staff were friendly, and the concierge was very helpful before our arrival via email. If I were to return to Sevilla, I’d probably consider other hotel options due to the hygiene issues.
Overall, the hotel is average and the layout of the bathroom was very odd. We have stayed at many Meliá hotels around the world, and this seemed like a let down.

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We're pleased to hear you appreciated our hotel's prime location, close to the heartbeat of Seville's cultural landmarks, and found our staff friendly and the concierge services helpful even before your arrival. Our gastronomic experiences at the Mosaico and Quimera restaurants aim to delight, so we're glad you enjoyed the breakfast buffet. We regret to hear about your initial room experience and appreciate your recognition of our team's prompt response in relocating you to ensure your comfort. Cleanliness and guest satisfaction are paramount in our service culture, and your comments will inspire us to enhance our attention to detail in every aspect. While our YHI SPA is a sanctuary for relaxation, we apologize for any inconvenience caused by its unavailability during your stay. It's wonderful to note that the Meliá app enhanced your stay by conveniently meeting your amenity requests, and we're glad the room service provided you with a satisfactory dining experience. We hope to have the occasion to welcome you again. Kindest regards, Belén Rodríguez, Voice of Customer Coordinator

Hotel's Favourite
Highly recommend this hotel. We really enjoyed the stay. The room was great, spacious for a family of 4. Staff all around were fantastic. The checkin and check out process was seamless. Special Thanks to Estrella, Carmen, and Isabel at the Melia Level Desk. Made us feel welcome, answered all our questions, patiently helped us book tours, provided restaurant recommendations. The lounge was fantastic. Overall highly recommend this hotel. Thank you everyone.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I recently stayed here during my one-night stay in Seville to visit the Plaza de Espana as part of my weeklong visit to Spain.
The Melia Sevilla is an older building that has been carefully renovated to modern standards.
There were, however, two big giveaways that this is an older building: the elevators are super-slow elevators from hell, and one ceiling ventilation panel in my room was clearly an old panel.
The next morning, I was so frustrated with the endless wait for an elevator that I carried my own baggage down five flights of stairs. And there were a lot of other fed-up guests going up and down in the stairwell!
The room itself was large, pleasant, thoughtfully and tastefully designed, quiet, modern, and very comfortable. No unusual sounds or smells noted. HVAC was quiet and temperature control was excellent.
There was one major design flaw in the bathroom: the lack of a proper gasket on the shower door, resulting in leakage of a little bit of water onto the bathroom floor. Other hotels I stayed in during my Spain visit either had a gasket on the door or proper sloping (so that any leakage past the door would drain back into the shower) to avoid that issue.
Unfortunately, it's because of the slow elevators and the leaky shower that I cannot rank this hotel as a five. I have stayed in enough hotels to know that with sufficient time, money, and effort, both of those issues can be fixed.

This hotel is ideally situated in a quieter area with some fine buildings nearby. The hop on/hop off bus stop is less than 5 minutes away and there are bus and tram stops within 10 minutes. Taxis are available and it only costs about 5 - 6 Euros to get to the centre and its attractions.
We had a Melia Level room with Terrace - the room was a decent size but drawer space was limited as was the wardrobe hanging space for long clothes. One disadvantage was that furniture prevented the door to the terrace opening more than half-way which meant it was an awkward high step to the terrace. The terrace was well worth it - it was huge (at least as big as the room) with two chairs, a table, large parasol and two sunloungers. it had a view over the pool area and got the sun from early afternoon until sunset making it an ideal spot when the pool area got too busy.
Booking a Level room meant access to the lounge which was large, bright, and airy. It had sandwiches, snacks, beer, wine and drinks available from 11.00 a.m. until 10.00 p.m. with tapas and alcohol spirits from 6.00 p.m. till 8.00 p.m. making it an ideal place after a trip into town, a tour, or even after being at the pool.
The pool and area around it could get quite busy and it is advisable to get there just before the opening time of 11.00 a.m.

Dear guest, Thank you very much for this positive review. We are delighted to hear that our prime location provided a convenient base for your explorations and that our The Level lounge added a touch of comfort to your stay with its array of gastronomic experiences. It's wonderful to know that the terrace of your room offered a spacious retreat with beautiful views to enjoy the Sevillian sunsets. Your appreciation for the pool area is much valued, and we're glad you found it a great place to relax, although we note your advice on its popularity during peak times. We look forward to welcoming you back on future occasions. Best wishes, Martina Piovesan, Voice of Customer Coordinator

The hotel has a very good location on Plaza Espania, within walking distance of the old town. The parking garage with direct access to the hotel is spacious. The friendly reception as level guests was outstanding. Estrella welcomed us very warmly, with great class, at a really high level - second to none. Estrella also helped us with breakfast so that the somewhat overwhelmed service served us as we soon had to go to the airport. The stay itself we liked very much, the rooms are very nice, designed in good design. It is worth booking a larger room over 30 sqm if you want a little more space. If there are any problems, they are very hard to solve. That's exemplary! At night, there was persistent noise from a loud TV in the neighboring room, as the hotel is quite noisy. When I went to reception, I was immediately helped, there were two technicians there who tried to get the guest to turn off the threateningly loud TV. The reception was able to reach the guest by phone at the same time. That's what I call perfect service. We were very pleased and will come back. The very nice lobby area with a modern design should be mentioned. Opposite is a taxi station. Everything perfect!

Please do people a favour who pay a lot of money for this hotel and change everything in those awful bathrooms. We haven’t seen such nightmarish sinks ever when every time we used them, water was splashed literally everywhere! Also change those dim lights, so that people can really see well in there instead of playing with shadows. And bring those mirrors a bit lower so that even people of medium height won’t struggle looking at the mirror. Also make sure there is enough pressure at the shower so that people can wash their hair without spending an enormous amount of time. Make an effort also to always keep those drains clean so that water doesn’t get trapped in the shower. Take also that interior glass door away since it serves absolutely nothing other than being always in the way. Moving the light switches also on the other side of the door would help a lot especially during the night to avoid looking for them behind the door in the dark. Other than that, the hotel is nice and well located.

Factory hotel not suitable for a romantic stay
The location is quite far from the notable sites of Seville and at this time of year the swimming pool is not of interest.
OK room (we had 820) but fairly poorly soundproofed (neighbor's snoring, slamming doors, street cars and sirens, etc.).
Not all elevators work so you have to wait for long minutes to move around the hotel, which is painful when your access card becomes demagnetized, which happened to us three times...
Finally the hotel mentions that it has a car park which is not entirely true because in reality the hotel is adjacent to a car park and has direct access to it but the price (25 euros per day) is prohibitive for a parking lot under construction (the car was covered in plaster) very difficult to access and very low (1.65m max).
In short, good hotel for a business seminar but not at all for a vacation stay

Very beautiful and elegant hotel. The rooms, well soundproofed, are very spacious and comfortable, with bathrooms equipped with both a shower and a bathtub, and with a double sink.
Buffet breakfast with a wide choice of both sweet and savory options.
The Level restaurant, very elegant, offers good options for lunch and dinner.
The strong point of this hotel is its proximity to the main attractions. In particular, it is very close to Plaza de España, a 10-minute walk from it.
Taxi service just outside the hotel.
We had a great time here and recommend it!

Upon entering the hotel there is a very pleasant atmosphere.
The receptionists are very professional and attentive.
The rooms have a very unique and functional design, apart from the fact that everything was super clean and in very good condition.
The location is unbeatable.
It is evident that they take care of even the smallest detail to ensure that guests have a good stay.
Without a doubt it has been an experience of 10 and we would love to repeat it!
