Situated in a delightful area of Seville, in the picturesque and authentic Barrio de Santa Cruz, the hotel is an attractive, converted manor house dating back to the 16th century. The Barrio de Santa Cruz is a charming area of the city with narrow, cobbled streets dotted with orange tree-lines plazas and centrally located within walking distance of many of the major attractions, such as the cathedral and the Alcazar. The hotel has a pleasing traditional patio-courtyard, onto which many of the rooms look out and where you can sit out and enjoy the peaceful ambience. There is also a popular restaurant that serves traditional Andalusian and Mediterranean cuisine.

Located in winding pedestrianised streets in the old quarter this hotel is in the perfect location. It is very quiet while being only minutes away from the cathedral and is surrounded by an endless choice of restaurants. Our room (no 12) was spacious and beautifully decorated. The roof top terrace was lovely and very sunny. Breakfast buffet (9 euro) was nice although we only ate breakfast once at the hotel, preferring to breakfast in the morning sun at one of the many nearby restaurants/cafes. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. House keeping did a first class job every day. This hotel is excellent value for money.

Now this hotel had everything you would want and need. We were staying in Seville for three nights and after trawling TA came across this hotel and were not disappointed. Taxi drops you off just a few minutes walk from hotel which is no issue. It is off the roads so no traffic noise. Lovely welcome from the staff who got us checking in and then showed us to our room. Hotel has loads of social areas where you can sit and read. A lovely internal courtyard where when the weather is warmer would be a haven to sit in.
Our junior suite had everything you need from great bathroom products, to robes, heating and cooling and a kettle. Bottled water supplied along with a fridge. As I said could want for nothing.
Downstairs in morning great breakfast selection for 9€ and very helpful staff member who obviously takes great pride in presenting her food. Cereal, fruit, ham, cheese and pastries to name but a few of the selections. Afternoon from 5 coffee and cake on offer just to keep you going until diner.
Overall a gem of a hotel and well worth booking if in Seville.

Dear Alan, Thank you very much for your lovely comment and for share your experience with us in TripAdvisor. We are surrounded with those narrow cobblestone streets because our location is place in one of the most historical neighborhoods of the city, near of the main monuments and ideal to live the city from inside. We are in the neighborhood of Santa Cruz, a magical and charming place that was former Jewry of the city of Seville and it is a pleasure to stroll through its narrow streets. Our hotel is an old house from the XV century. Thank you for your lovely comments, and to make a summary very well some our facilities. I am very happy to hear that you have enjoyed your stay with us. I hope that your next stay is around the corner. We hope to see you soon. Best regards

We had a lovely three night stay at this hotel in Seville. On arrival we were made welcome and shown to our lovely room (Casa1), it’s definitely worth booking the junior suite for the extra space. The hotel is beautiful and sits right in the middle of the Santa Cruz area so you can walk everywhere for the sights and also easy for all the bars and restaurants in the evenings. We had the breakfast on two of the three mornings and it was superb - a bargain at €9 per person with Nesoresso machine, cold and hot buffet and even champagne if you so desired! All the staff were wonderful and helpful but unobtrusive. The roof terrace has some comfy seating and the patio areas inside the hotel would be welcome in the hotter weather. There are several bars within staggering distance for an early evening or late night drink and/or tapas. This hotel has a 3 star rating but we would give it 5!

We stayed at El Rey Moro for a week this past July and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The staff was very helpful when we arrived and took the time to show us where we could find everything in the hotel (hot tub, breakfast area, bikes, etc.)

The room was large, well organised, clean, and had literally the most comfortable mattress we’ve ever slept on, complete with memory foam pillows. Air conditioner kept everything comfortable so we slept incredibly well.

Breakfast in the courtyard was buffet style and offered a good selection as well as the possibility of having fresh cooked eggs and bacon however we preferred. It is also possible to have gluten free bread, but better to arrange the day before so it’s ready when you arrive for breakfast (takes a few minutes to cook as we all know). Listening to the birds and the fountain is a great way to start the day.

We only used it once, but on the roof is a hot tub with a view of the cathedral that I imagine would be great on a cooler evening. Also great was the free filtered water (you drink a lot when it’s 37).

To conclude, absolutely satisfied with our stay and will definitely recommend to friends visiting Seville.

We had booked this hotel months in advance for 180€/night based on the good reviews. When we arrived, we were so disappointed with the room, that we were going to check out immediately. The room was small and run down for a 4 star hotel at 180€/night. Not good value for money at all. Also we checked the current price rates of the moment for the hotel and at the time our standard room was going for 100€/night and the suite for 180€/night.
Luckily, the reception upgraded us to a suite with jacuzzi and breakfast, which we appreciate. Still this was only adequate, as it was the current going rate for the suite at the moment, and we wouldn't have stayed in that shabby standard room for the price of a suite for another day.

I feel this hotel has better and worse rooms, I have to say imo Casa number 2 is very beautiful (my husband refused to stay in it), unfortunately the rooms where we stayed in were not so charming.

The hotel has previously been only 3 stars (see pictures), and we wonder what exactly has allowed it to upgrade to 4 stars?

The jacuzzi use was only allowed for a maximum of half an hour per day. We have never heard of this kind of upsetting and unneccessary restrictions in any other hotel.

The inside garden is pretty, but to our surprise and disappointment, it isn't possible to have that beautiful view you see in pictures from your room. Your room will be located inside the beautiful structure and from your room you will be looking at a stone brick wall.

The breakfast lady was very kind and sweet, but unfortunately the male breakfast staff member was sour and grumpy and made us feel unwelcome. The breakfast was good. If this hotel still rated itself 3 stars like it used to, we would say the breakfast is great for a 3 star hotel! But now we have to compare it to the breakfast in other 4 star hotels around Europe and is it ok/good, not superb. Spaniards are not themselves usually big on breakfast so compared to other Spanish breakfasts, this was as good as it gets in this country.

The cleaning was not good; I specifically wrote a note one day to the cleaning lady asking for 2x shampoo & 1 x shower gel, but she didn't bother to bring any. Luckily, the nice receptionist man brought those things to me right away when we asked.
Also, every single day during a week's stay the cleaning lady took away our bathrobes and every single day we had to ask for them from the reception again. The receptionist also informed us that they fear that we will steel the robes (!) and that's why they fetch them away every day.

All the receptionists were very kind and we were very happy with the service, up until the last day, when everyone turned sour for some unknown reason? It made us sad. This could have been a 3-star review if they had kept smiling through the last day till the end.
This hotel probably would give a better experience than what we had, if you visit during spring/summer, because we were very unlucky since it was raining heavily all the week and thus having breakfast in the beautiful garden wasn't possible. I recommend booking a suite, and Casa number 2 if you want a good experience. The location is certainly unbeatable.

Stayed as two couples for weekend break. Our room was traditionally styled and overlooked the enchanting courtyard where a lovely breakfast with a wide range on offer, was served. All the staff in the hotel were friendly, welcoming and really helpful. The location is brilliant with a lovely square nearby with restaurants and easy access to all the main attractions and the beautiful narrow interesting cobbled streets of Seville. The hot tub on the roof terrace at the hotel was an additional delight at the end of a busy day as a tourist. Top marks to the team at this boutique hotel.

This is a boutique hotel in the old section of the city near the cathedral and alcazar. We picked it on the basis of location, and Rick Steves gives it a thumbs up in his book on Spain. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival, and they gave us a glass of wine to relax while we got the paperwork done. The lobby area also doubles as the breakfast area, and they have a bar. Nearby, they have an open courtyard that is a great place to unwind and relax. We were there when temps were near 100 F, and yet the courtyard felt comfortable. The rooms are unique, and it had a fair amount of space for a hotel in the old part of town. The bed was comfortable, and there were a couple of chairs. We really appreciated the water pitcher in a small refrigerator in the room, and we often filled our water bottles at the cooler in the hallway. The breakfast had several choices, and it was worth the money. The hotel is so convenient to the major sights, but leave some time to relax in the courtyard with a glass of cava.

This is a wonderful, affordable hotel in the heart of Seville. The hotel is in a great location, no more than five minutes from the cathedral and en route are a number of popular, affordable and tasty restaurants. The hotel itself is beautiful and the courtyard is a charming place to relax. The rooms are nice, and the bathrooms are a good size. There is a 24h bar that is well-priced and the breakfast is wide-ranging and delicious. My highest compliments must go to the staff, who bend over backwards to assist you and make sure that your stay is nothing short of exceptional.

You won’t be sorry you stayed here. The location is convenient to the Cathedral and Alcazar, breakfast is great, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the staff is super helpful, especially Asiz Saidi at the front desk who speaks multiple languages, can print tickets from emails, and make helpful suggestions. I would definitely stay here again if only to enjoy the late afternoon tea with other guests.

This is the best hotel in Spain! It is absolutely beautiful, close to the city center, with wonderful staff, and very comfortable rooms. The breakfast was also an excellent value, as we ate so much from the buffet that we often didn't eat again until the end of the day. We really appreciated how helpful the staff was as well, including making reservations for us for a flamenco show and giving us advice on the best places to see. The rooftop jacuzzi is not to be missed! We went after sundown and enjoyed incredible views of the Giralda lit up. We can't wait to come back to Sevilla, and to this amazing hotel!

Regarding the parking, we do have several private spaces in a public parking nearby, at a cost of 25€ per day. The location is called Parking Cano y Cueto, although you would need to come to the hotel first so that we can give you a card to access the parking. You would have to drive to Alfaro Square (best location to put into the GPS and leave the car there with parking lights on, bring your luggage to us (walking up Lope de Rueda, first left at Reinoso street; number 8). We will keep your luggage until check in time. Best regards
