It is rated as 5 stars - but do not expect it is like those 5 stars hotels in Barcelona.
Staff were nice! Bed was very comfy! Room was spacious!
Not near the tourist attractions. Will take ard 35mins walk to the Old town. However, the hotel is well located next to a shopping mall. I personally like the quietness of the hotel and the nearby environment.
The hotel was full of 60's / 70's vibes ~ the only one that we do not quite like is - too many mirrors in the room... Would be better if tea / coffee also available in the room.

This recently built 5 star hotel, conveniently located side by side with a large shopping center, is a great choice in Zaragoza.

Its large and confortable bedrooms are beautifully decorated, has a large LCD TV and a beautiful open space like luxury bathroom.

Social areas  are also very good and the SPA, open from 9 AM to 9 PM, located on top of the building, at the 11th floor, with an indoor heated pool, a jacuzzi, vichy showers, sauna and turkish bath, has a beautiful sight over the city.

Breakfast, served on the first floor, is also very good.

Indoor car parking is free but the fast WI-FI internet access, all over the hotel, is available at an extra charge (I paid 7 euros for a 24 hours acess)

It takes about ten minutes to go to the old town city center by taxi.

If returning to Zaragoza I will certainly be back to Hotel Reina Petronila.

We had room 802. It was super comfortable and well we couldn't have asked for in a room . The girl who checked us in was great, her supervisor quite gruff and not really helpful to her After settling my kids in the room , we all went down to the cafe for a late lunch. It appears we were too late. We could order snacks which got us through to dinner time. Great pool upstairs, and very good gym. We really did not want to leave here as we had such a great time, and we were very comfortable.

Bad points..... we tried to charge the food from the Reina Cafe to our room, embarrassingly the staff said they couldn't that my room was blocked! i went to the front desk, and the same gruff manager yelled at me that I had been booked n properly and that there was no problems, I went back to the cafe, they said I was blocked... rather than get yelled at I just paid cash and walked away pissed off.

The room service food is ok, but.... when we tried to order from the phone we had to use the phone in the toilet as the bedroom phone wasn't working...first world problem, but I didn't want another confrontation with the desk manager.
We tried to order the "fresh Pasta" with out mushrooms, but we were told that the mushrooms came already in the sauce..I asked then is the pasta really fresh ... and was told yes but not the sauce.

Im not trying to nit pick here but where I travel, a 5 star hotel normally has a restaurant and proper chefs.... that cook food as described on a menu.
If you eat out then you will have no problems at all.

I would go back again... we just wouldn't order food there

This was a very weird experience. Coming from superb treatment in Madrid i couldn't help but compare. I arrive and nobody helped or greeted us with all our luggage even after I asked for help. The hotel is like a ghost hotel. Ac is not cold. But now I hear its a government regulation and no hotel is allowed to bring down temp too cold so basically I was dying. Bed was clean and comfortable but that's about it. Desk lady needs to be trained to greet guests although now I think its like this in all the north of Spain. I have been to many places in the south of Spain and always had a very good experience so I think its a region thing:((

Not 5 stars. Who in the name of the Father gives these Stars rating? It’s more a business/convention center hotel next to a
Shopping mall with cinema.
Poor menu in the Cafe
Hotel looks rundown. It may used to be 5 stars but not any more. Wouldn’t dare to use a spa here.
Check in - fair though not many information about Zaragoza as in other hotels in Rioja.
The city is big and busy. So, some pointers about moving in the city and where /when to eat may be helpful. You don’t get that from the front desk at check in.
I would rate it only 3 stars top.

Stayed here for just the one night. Lots of parking spaces, very comfortable for the car. The room was great and the shower was to die for. This hotel is of a good standard within the 5 star range. Very comfortable and calm stay. Recommended.

I stayed three nights at this hotel. Great located next to a Mall with good restaurants. Rooms are well equipped and good size. Breakfast is really good, with everything you could desire. Parking though is a little hard to find. I would recommend this to everyone, both business or leisure.

This hotel is very easily accessed from the train station, and also near the tram which takes you into the centre. There is a shopping centre next door and plenty of choices of nearby restaurants. The rooms are beautiful, very spacious with a double sink, huge bath and walk in shower, the beds have excellent linen and are very comfortable. It is very quite and you get a great night´s sleep!

Uugh where do I begin! First of all it is not in a good neighborhood. I felt safe walking around at night everywhere I went in Spain EXCEPT for here. In addition to that, it is pretty far from the few attractions in Zaragoza.

The room and hotel were no where near 5 stars. 3 stars would be extremely generous. Anyone who gives this a 5 star has never been to a 5 star hotel. The rest of the hotels I stayed in Spain were 4 stars and they were WAY better.

The whole building needs renovation. When we arrived we immediately noticed it smelled weird. Like burnt coffee and sewage. Then upon entering our room we noticed that the old wood floors seemed dirty, like they hadn't been vacuumed. Then the shower (that was just so awkward and the dumbest design ever) had hair in it (shower and toilet area). We told the staff and they said they would take care of it and they did and when we came back they had left us some chocolates. So we like "hmm ok, they tried.." But within 20min of being back in our room the water in the shower just randomly turned on for like a good 30sec. This happened 5 times and pretty late at night. We got up early the next morning only to find there was no running water!!! We complained and their response was that there was a problem and that they were hoping to get it fixed before 7am. No apology or anything. I guess this explained the smell, yuck!!!! I honestly couldn't wait to get out of there. When we checked out we told them not to charge us the water from the mini bar we had to use to brush our teeth and wash our face, when there was no running water. "Oh sure." That's it. No apology, no discount, nothing. I was just so glad I was leaving.

I was there with my younger sister who is in Spain studying abroad. She has been traveling through Europe and staying in Hostels. Even she was shocked at how bad this hotel was! She said even the hostels were way better! That should sum it up! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Dear guest, First at all, thank you for giving us your objections about our hotel, all the suggestions of our guests give us the opportunity to improve. The Hotel Reina Petronila was built in 2010 and designed by Rafael Moneo who was “Premio Principe de Asturias” in 2012; the area around the hotel is one of the best residential neighborhoods, for that reason we are really surprised with your experience and perception. In regard to the incident with the water, we apologize for the inconvenience this may caused to you; we know those kind of technical situations are so disgusting for our guests and unfortunately it took place during your stay. That punctual situation could not be controlled by our maintenance department because that break down was caused by an external factor. All our human team want to transmit you their apologies and we hope to welcome you in a next visit to our city. We remain at your disposal to assist you with any further information. Once again, thank you very much. Elena Auría Dpto. Operaciones Palafox Hoteles

Such an amazing hotel.

The room has an open bathroom like so many hotels, but unlike so many others has subtle doors to give the bathroom user the option of privacy. In room facilities were great.

It was so wonderful to come back to the pool at the end of very hot days.

The best factor has to be the breakfast: a whole gluten free section - how wonderful! Along with gluten free bread available on room service menu (as well as gf beer) and in the hotel cafe!

It is well connected to the center by bus or tram. It is, without a doubt, the best hotel in Zaragoza at present.

The hotel has its own underground car park which is huge and when we stayed was virtually empty. Be aware it was the weekend every time we've stayed.
