I returned to the hotel 12 months later and the stay was just as memorable as my previous stay.

The hotel is a short 20 minutes bus ride from Zaragoza delicias station and there is a bus stop which drops you off within less than 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel.

I specifically chose this hotel (again) because of its award winning Spanish omelette (which did not disappoint) and also due to the cakes it has on offer. I think that Hotel Sauce will continue to be my first choice of hotels to stay whenever I visit Zaragoza.

Location is great for the historic quarter and the tapas bars. Less convenient for the airport bus which stops some distance away. A taxi is needed from the airport at about 25 euros.
The hotel is modernised, clean and tidy with very effective double glazing to eliminate all road noise. Sadly, as always there can be guests who simply like making a noise.
The service was exceptional, from the pre-arrival information to flagging a taxi for our departure. Staff are polite, well organised and seem motivated to give good service. .Breakfast is simple- in the Spanish style and available more or less any time as the coffee shop remains open all the time. A car park is available nearby at extra charge ( annoying but this is a city centre). A free safe was provided in the room and the free wifi worked well. All staff spoke reasonable English; something I had not expected in this region. The package offers very good value and we would have no hesitation in going back: they just get it right!.. .

Be sure to pack your ear plugs because you are likely to need them. As other reviewers have mentioned the sound proofing isn’t great and during our stay we were awoken by our neighbour’s newborn, heard them cough continuously, felt uncomfortable when they had a massive barney, were awoken by their alarm, heard them snoring, heard their other child screaming. Maybe we were unlucky with our room location and maybe they heard us too?

Our son had a room further down the corridor and although he heard a little noise from his neighbours it wasn’t to the extent that we did.

However the positives far outweigh the negatives. Our room was excellent with a really comfortable bed and a very nice spacious bathroom.

We ate breakfast here and had a few cakes/hot drinks in the evening, all excellent.

All the staff were welcoming and helpful, especially the night manager when the noise simply got too much one evening.

I would definitely return to this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it. As other’s have said the location is simply fantastic. But I would be cautious regarding which room I stayed in.

What a great little hotel that punches above its weight. I booked a single room but they gave me a double. Bed was very comfortable, AC worked and was quiet. Room was clean. Location is perfect right at the historic center of Zaragoza with pretty much all sights within a 5 mins walk other than the Aljafería which is about a 20 min walk away. It is about 40-45 mins walk from train station. If you travel light the walk is no problem and I did it but buses and taxis are available too. Internet speed was solid and better than some more expensive hotels I stayed in Spain. For the price this hotel is a true bargain. Breakfast at the restaurant on the ground level was great and reasonably priced with some very healthy options. No kettle or coffee maker in room.

I will also say that Zaragoza was a truly neat little city. It has lots of sights that are interesting and like Hotel Sauce punched above its weight. Get to Zaragoza before the hordes of tourists find it.

This is a great hotel, with a very kind staff. It’s location is ideal in the middle of the old center. With the hotel’s advice we parked in a nearby parking. They offer excellent breakfast made to order, varying from € 3 to € 15. They also run a popular cake shop next to the hotel.

Excellent in every respect with one small caveat. Travelling solo I had a single room. The bed was comfortable, it was absolutely spotlessly clean but VERY small and the shower/tub arrangement would present a problem for any one with the slightest mobility issue as you have to climb over the half size tub to have a shower. My tip is to check the room facilities in advance. They are not all identical.
Otherwise, everything is positive - well priced, helpful reception staff, tip top cleanliness and housekeeping, the little cake shop serves a perfectly acceptable breakfast.

The location here is great. Just a couple blocks from the main plaza with the Basilica. 6-7 minute walk to buses that go to Renfe/bus station. Many restaurants around and a major shopping street is just a few blocks away.

I had a single room that may not be representative of what all their rooms are like. But just right, super clean, room made good use of an odd shape and bathroom, flooring, lighting all seemed to be recently updated.

It’s an older building that doesn’t seem old until..,you get in the elevator. Very tiny for 5 floors so you may have to wait occasionally. The only other downside was scarcity of electrical plugs. If you want a quiet room, ask for an interior room where you won’t hear people talking at the street tables in front.

Also special thanks for letting me reschedule my non refundable 2020 visit into 2021!

Hotel Sauce is very well situated in the old town and has good-sized, modern rooms. It represents good value for money.

Our room was uncomfortably warm and there didn’t seem to be an effective way of reducing the temperature.

What's not to like about a hotel with it's own cake shop! This is a great hotel in the old town, really well located for the cathedral and the Goya museum and close to a little warren of pinto bars. Breakfast is served in the cafe, there are lots of choices and it arrives fast. there was a heatwave while we were there and it was so convenient to be able to pop back to our air conditioned room to cool down. The staff are lovely and so helpful. It has that buzz of a happy place where people enjoy working. We would definitely stay here again.

A gem in the city centre of Zaragoza. It has a cake shop and you get freshly baked cakes each day and fresh lemonade. It’s clean and rooms were comfortable. The staff at the hotel are very efficient friendly and helpful, especially those at reception who also undertook other tasks as and when necessary. The staff were an assist in this hotel which added to the pleasure of staying there. In fact we returned for a night before catching our flight. Why not 5 stars? Some days at breakfast time there weren’t enough staff or tables but you could go downstairs and sit but no one came to serve and so we waited until we got a table upstairs. There is a vast space downstairs and it could be turned into a lounge with some comfortable seating and an extended breakfast. There is only 1 lift and sometimes there is a queue on the top floors. Fortunately the lift worked while we were there but it could be a problem if it broke down. Despite this I would definitely go back.
