We love this hotel

The building is several centuries old, and has been in the family for generations. They have converted this to a fabulous boutique hotel, full of character. The Staff is very attentive and lots to share about the house and antiques around the house including a letter from US President W Wilson! The rooms are comfortable and immaculate. There is a guest elevator and they have done a fantastic job with all the safety upgrades needed to convert this majestic home into a hotel!

We had a great breakfast each morning and loved walking around the impeccably maintained grounds.

There is easy access from the A-8 highway. And google got us straight to the gate. Easy access to Gijon.

I wish I lived closer so I could stay at this hotel more often!

Imagine a full day of walking on the Camino del Norte and arriving at the gates to this stunning hotel. It was perfect in every way.

Our host Jesus was extremely charming and very welcoming. This is a family owned and operated business situated on spacious, peaceful and meticulously maintained grounds.

Jesus was very attentive and answered all questions about the house and his family history. The house is beautifully decorated with family portraits, antique furniture and proudly displayed on the upstairs level is a letter written by his great grandfather to Woodrow Wilson.

Our room was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. The bar fridge was impressively stocked. My friends and I especially enjoyed the Codorniu Benjamin Cava which we shared in the comfortable main floor living room.

The breakfast was generous and nicely presented.

It was truthfully a most enjoyable and memorable stay.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent 5 night stay at the Hotel Quinta Duro. The hotel is located just outside the city center of Gijon on a country estate with a 300+ year old home. The home has been lovingly maintained with much of its original character and charm intact. Quinta Duro is a family owned and operated business and it shows in the attention to detail taken to provide a friendly welcome and a delicious breakfast. Each day, our host, Jesus, took the time to answer all of our questions and to provide a truly outstanding breakfast consisting of freshly baked breads, pastries, and orange juice in addition to a selection of fruit, cheese and ham. Our room was large, clean and comfortable and equipped with a modern en-suite bathroom. I highly recommend a stay at Hotel Quinta Duro. I am confident that most people will appreciate the uniqueness of the property and the value provided by the Duro family.

This lovely hotel is an old family home situated in spacious grounds. We were made to feel very welcome and given all the information we needed.
Rather than drive into Gijon which was very busy and tricky to park we walked to the bus about 15 minutes away. It was then an easy trip in and out of the town. There was a lovely restaurant just a few minutes walk away.
Breakfast at the hotel was very good.
All in all a lovely relaxing few days.

A bed&breakfast hotel with a lot of history. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The breakfast was prepared with love to details. The young man who attended us was professional and efficient. The garden is beautiful and the three Alpaca house pets very cute and relaxed. A very nice stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Jesús was a wonderful host, filling us in on his family history of this lovely property. The grounds are very peaceful, with many stately trees and a beautiful patio. We would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone that is looking for a quiet, quaint and comfortable stay in Gijón.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night after driving for more than nine hours from Southern Spain. As we had booked the room over the phone the night before were not able to print off directions and as a consequence found ourselves lost. The owner of the hotel came to meet us and guided us to what I can only describe as a most wonderful piece of 17th century history. The house stood amongst mature trees in a quite location. Entering the hotel there were two drawing rooms on either side of the reception area. Both rooms were furnished as I would imagine they had been 400 years ago. However, that is where old met new! Our room was large and looked like it had been refurbished. It was furnished with antique furniture which I adored. The bathroom was also large with all the facilities you would expect in a 4* business hotel. The beds were a little hard but never the less comfortable. Our breakfast was served at a time suitable to us. Fresh orange juice, pastries, bread, cheese, ham, jam and fresh fruit, all you would expect in a continental breakfast. We were attended by Jesus, who I could only describe as charming. He took the time to answer all my questions about the house and the portraits of his family members. The hospitality was excellent! The hotel doesn't serve dinner and as we arrived rather late Jesus offered to call a local pizza house. However, we chose to visit a restaurant close by. This too was wonderful, it reminded me of the old Spain as it was 40 years ago, the furnishings and smell of the wood burner and authentic Spanish food brought back memories of my first trip to Spain. When checking out the following morning, Jesus had taken the time to print off maps of the area and directions to the ferry port. I thought it was a very nice gesture on his part and because of his thoughtfulness we were able to have a look around the town and arrive at the port in plenty if time to catch our ferry. Thank you Jesus, for a delightful experience I just wish we could have stayed longer. Ann & Don from Cheshire UK.

We enjoyed two nights at this lovely small hotel, located just outside of Gijon. Both the grounds and the hotel are very peaceful and provides a great base to explore the area or just to relax.

The hotel is a turn of the century house. Our room had a great view out to the west and the coast. It was well appointed and had everything you could ask for. The owner is wecloming and very helpful. He and his staff provde an excellent level of service and are eager to answer any question you have.

Breakfast is served in a lovely common room and is a buffet of fresh fruit, yogurts, meats and freshly baked cakes and breads. While it is the only meal serves at the hotel there are two excellent places to eat very close by.

The hotel is very close to the university and botanical gardens. We will definately stay there on our next trip.

A very nicely restored country house on a five acre estate. The location is just outside the city centre, close to the Jardin Botanico (recommended). A very nice change from the small and often cramped city hotel rooms. Very comfortable and the host Carlos was very helpful.

Just down the road there's a sidreria / tavern with good local food and vino. Town is only a five or ten minute drive and the nearby jardin botanico is recommended
