Overall it is a very nice hotel. There is a free public parking in front (if you manage to find a place). The rooms are quite modern, the reception is warm and welcoming. During my stay, I wanted to take the touristic bus tour to visit the city. The lady behind the counter handed me the brochure and a discount... More

I had never heard of the Asturias region of Spain so thought I would give it a whirl. So glad I did. We stayed in Gijon, literally 30 mins by coach from the airport. The hotel was 2 minutes walk from a fabulous beach and marina. The town itself is clean and full of bars, shops and restaurants. The old... More

We have nothing but rave reviews for Hotel La Polar. It is located close to the beach (not even two minutes away), the staff is wonderful and the price is tough to beat. An unexpected bonus was the terrace that came with our room that we used while our 18 month old son was falling asleep in the room. If... More

Very Good! Good location, friendly staff, and great clean room. Great wifi and slept really well. Also really liked the balcony (which could cause some noise in the summer). Right next to the beach and a 10-15 min walk from the center! Would highly recommend!

We needed a crash pad in Gijon as our ferry was due to dock at dusk and didn't relish the thought of mountains at night on a drive to Portugal. We didn't expect too much but were pleasantly surprised at La Polar. The staff were extremely welcoming and efficient with nothing seemingly too much trouble. The room was in great... More

Good location; a 10 minute walk from the bus station for the airport bus. The room was comfortable and very clean, although my view overlooked naval buildings, so not pretty! Free WiFi. Bar attached to hotel for breakfast and drinks. Nearby the Tierra Astur restaurant was good. A good value hotel that I would use again.

We spent 3 nights here it was an average small city hotel with underground parking excellent for a motorbike . Only a few minutes walk from the sea and city but right on the edge of a large industrial area . Plenty of places to eat and drink , lovely beach and old town and nice cliff walk with locals... Good location for Gijon city center at reasonable price. Only 15 minute walk. Secure underground parking available. Good size room with good size bath but earplugs needed due to closeness of road. Very friendly and helpful staff. Busy cafeteria on site for drinks, baguettes, some tapas etc. also frequented by locals. Very close to Ponientes beach and aquarium. Two minutes... More

Stayed 2 nights. Arrived by car and was able to park in their secure underground car park for E9 per night, which isn't bad compared to some other places. Receptionist really nice and friendly. Rooms modern, comfortable and clean. Located right next to cities second and smaller beach. The much nicer main beach and city centre isn't far away and... More

This was a nice hotel, located just steps from poniente beach. Receptionist was lovely, room was clean and a decent size. My only real gripe was distance from city centre, and that while the hotel is close to poniente beach, poniente doesn't compare to playa San Lorenzo, which is a solid walk away.
