We stayed one night at Artexte. The rooms are simple and very clean but little bit small. The staff is very friendly. The prices are reasonable. The views from the hotel were wonderful, good value if you want to stop over to visit Bilbao. Near to airport

Visited with my wife for 1 night before travelling on the ferry to Portsmouth the following morning. Friendly welcome on arrival but disappointed that the adjoining restaurant which is independent of the hotel is closed on Mondays. We were exhausted & hungry after our drive up from Madrid and were so looking forward to some food & vino. Decided to...

This hotel is outside Bilbao with great views of the city. The rooms are modern and clean although you can hear sounds from the corridor and other rooms. The staff were very good and there is a separate small restaurant on the premises which is a mix of three buildings. There is also an excellent local large restaurant right across...

Located well above the city with spectacular views, Hotel Artetxe is ideally located. Ample free parking on site and just a short drive to the Artxanda Funicular (also with ample free parking). The Funicular will take you to the heart of the city in just a few minutes for a mere 90 cents. We had a two bedroom apartment with...

This hotel is on a hill overlooking the city with fantastic views especially at night. The hotel staff were really helpful and the rooms were clean. We had our dog with us, they have 5 rooms which are dog-friendly. Instead of taking our car down to the city we drove to the funicular, parked free of charge and paid €1.50...

We were greeted in the reception area with a delicious white wine and snacks. The hotel reception man was delightfully chatty and helpful, speaking very good English. We had a great room with a very modern bathroom and excellent wifi reception . My only critique would be the hard pillows. Fabulous views and an extraordinary breakfast spread. Would definitely go...

Very peaceful location with nice grounds and stunning views of the city. Although not in the city easy to get there and back on public transport- bus and funicular there, bus back. Easy to find using Google maps - probably easier to find than battling to an hotel in the city. Good breakfast with a wide choice. Make sure you...

The hotel is a little difficult to find, but once on the top of the hills overlooking Bilbao it is well worth the effort. We were welcomed with wine and nibbles and a seat in the sun which made the trip worthwhile. We had an excellent room at the top of the hotel with views over the city. The room...

Although you will need a car, this is a great place to get down to Bilbao and the airport is only 12 minutes away. For the city, it is a three minute drive to the free funicular parking lot. For less than two euros return, you can go down into the city and walk to the old part of town...

We arrived in the city by bus from the airport, the journey took approx. 25 mins. We walked from the central bus station to the Plaza de Funicular, this again was about 20mins, we passed the Guggenheim and crossed the river via the footbridge, after the bridge we went to the left with the water behind us and then took...
