This charming place is run by an old, nice couple. They don't speak a word english, but we managed to understand each other with sign language :) I had a small, quiet room with a small balcony, facing the back yard. It is VERY old fashioned, except for the WIFI. The cleanness of the room, and dislocated bathrooms is exceptionally...

I recently stayed at Pension Mendez in Bilbao for 3 nights. The pension is in the old town of Bilbao, easy to find. The room was charming, clean and the staff is very kind and helpful. I personally very confidently recommend it to anyone because you get a good value and reliable accommodation for your money.

Great location in the middle of the old town. Very friendly staff with English. Left our bags there early at 10.00am which was not a problem. Clean room with nice bathroom. Obviuosly a bit noicy at night but we did'nt care. Only €55 for the night.

Large room with everything needed. Bars and restaurants outside the door. We arrived late and left the next day so weren't there for long. Reasonable place for Bilbao but for a bit more money lots more options that are more plush if preferred

I liked the people, they are really nice. Our room was simple, but clean. Unfortunately there was no sunlight, it was really dark. I think in summer it would be a cool room, at this days we had a heating. The location is great, you are in the middle of the centre, near Metro and the river. You have to...

The location of the hostal is excellent, in the heart of old town. We spent 2 nights here. The rooms were clean, but a bit small. The only problem was that the owner made us pay on cash, although we wanted to pay with a credit card, pretending he didn't know how to use the credit card machine.

The location of the Hostal Mendez is excellent just between of the old and new town. Some stylish details make the house special - old stairs and 2 figures of dogs. Rooms are rather small and not well equipped. Wi-fi works slow. Owners seem to be afraid with later payment and expect you pay before get your keys.

Friendly owner with very little english ability. Set in an old building in the heart of old town. Beautiful, somewhat unrestored staircase to the first floor setting. Simple, clean rooms with balconies on the street side and yet quiet when the doors were closed. We looked at one room in the back but it smelled a little musty. No frills...
