The hotel is in the old city close to the Constitution square. Rooms are clean but basic. Breakfast (not included) was quite good. The thing I didn’t like is that the top of the bathroom wall is glass so when someone goes in and turns on the light the whole room lights up. Very weird and annoying. Also some rooms on the first floor face a stone wall so you have no view or light in the room.

Dear Orrdin, First of all we thank you for taking a few minutes to leave us your experience at the hotel. We value your opinion very much and we are sorry to hear that your stay was not completely satisfactory. On the other hand we are glad to know that you found the room clean and that the breakfast was to your liking, as our a la carte breakfast, all made on the spot, is one of our most powerful services. However, we regret any inconvenience caused by the bathroom design and lack of view in some rooms. We understand that these issues can affect comfort and the overall experience. Your feedback is valuable to us, as it helps us to improve in these areas. We appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow from your comments. We hope you will consider giving us another opportunity in the future to demonstrate that we can provide you with a more positive experience. Best regards, Sansebay team.

There is nothing bad to say about this hotel, and a lot of good! Location is stunning - definitely worth paying the extra for the deluxe sea view room. The whole hotel was immaculately clean and very well designed. The staff were delightful and so helpful. Would go back in a heartbeat.

First time in San Sebastián for a four day break and booked the Sansebay after reading the reviews.. Fabulous location in the middle of the old town with the sea directly in front and the vibrant pintxo bars just behind.. We received a warm welcome on arrival and Mia on reception took the time to sit down and talk us through the geography and the local attractions.. we also got upgraded to a great sea view room on the 4th floor.. this hotel just has a lovely vibe and breakfast was first class.. what else dya need? Would absolutely recommend..

Our 3 night stay at the Hotel Sansebay was one we will never forget. The rooms are spectacular - spotless, roomy and beautifully decorated with breath taking views of the bay. The location was perfect - just steps away from restaurants and shops and we could walk both the old town and the new town with ease. But the very best thing was the service that was extended to us. We had a family emergency that required a significant change in our plans and the front desk went above and beyond with their support - making recommendations, looking up different options, printing information and more - they took care of it all. They held our hands through the whole process and I can't say enough good things about them. We will definitely stay at Hotel Sansebay when we come back to San Sebastian to resume our trip.

This boutique hotel is in a very good location and we were lucky enough to have a room on the third floor overlooking the bay. It's a good 20 minute walk from the bus station if that's how you plan to arrive. An à la carte breakfast is available in the mornings. We recommend a walk up Mount Urgell, which starts next to the hotel.

Terrible - Booked into one of their 2 bedroom apartments. On the 3rd party platform the apartments looked spacious and offering sea views. In reality it was very small, cramped and had a view of a wall. The main issue however was the small aircon in the living space did not ventilate the bedrooms which were down the corridor. In 37 degree heat this was a serious problem. When I asked if anything could be done, I was rudely told I had got exactly what I had paid for. At $700 a night this was not acceptable. Finally found one staff member who arranged small fans to move air around the apartment. It helped a little but not much. I then wrote an email to complain about the rudeness of the staff member in reception and the response came from the same person who was rude to me. I then did a review on Google and the response was from the same staff member again. A hotel with no means of improving their performance. Not a good experience and seriously not to be recommended.

Dear 954jeremyj We are deeply sorry to hear that your stay at our establishment did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments and take your concerns seriously. Please allow us to address your concerns. It is disappointing to hear that the description on the third party platform did not match the reality of your experience. We understand the importance of providing an accurate representation of our properties and regret that this was not the case in your situation. The issue with the air conditioning and lack of ventilation in the bedrooms during extreme weather conditions is a valid concern, and we regret that you experienced discomfort. We apologize if you felt you were treated rudely in raising this issue. The attitude of our staff does not reflect our standards of service, and we will take steps to ensure that similar situations do not occur again. Regarding the response to your email and review on Google, we understand your frustration at receiving responses from the same person who you feel was rude in their treatment. Again, we regret this negative experience and will review internally how we handle complaints and responses to reviews to improve our customer service. We value your feedback as it helps us identify areas where we need to improve. We appreciate the opportunity to learn from your experience and hope you will give us another opportunity in the future to demonstrate our commitment to exceptional service. Yours sincerely, Sansebay hotel

Hotel was well located in the old town and my room faced the bay. As my room was on the lower floors, it got quite noisy one night when a group was happily chatting away right outside my windows which was the steps. However, room was not cleaned well. There was a sticky spot in the vanity counter in the bathroom and I found a strand of hair on my sheets. Can’t really say if staff were polite as they kind of ignored us after we checked in. It was a good base and thankful I had a room facing the sea.

The hotel is in a great location for the beach and pintxos bars. Our room not only had a great view of the marina, it also had a dressing area which made for a large space. The bathroom was also a good size too. Our only niggle. We enjoyed breakfast each morning at the hotel, however on of the days there was only one member of staff trying to look after breakfast guests and also work on reception which was far from ideal for everyone. Having said that we found the friendly staff helpful and the hotel extremely clean.

The Hotel Sansebay has a wonderful staff, great beach towels (just ask; available for guests at no charge after a deposit to ensure they are returned is refunded); 10 minute walk to the beautiful beach. The check in welcome drinks were a nice touch. We booked a deluxe double room promising a view of the sea. But you really couldn’t see the sea and beach except from a corner of the room next to the bed; otherwise, you would see a staircase and wall next to it. Also, on weekend nights there are a large number of teenagers and young adults that hang out on the steps next to the room (just a few feet/meters from the room’s window), so they can see everything in your room unless the curtains are drawn. And they are loud until at least midnight. We never felt unsafe, but the noise and lack of privacy when the curtains were open was distracting. School kids and their parents also walk up the stairs on the way to school each school day. The breakfast buffet was a bit overpriced especially if one only wanted fruit and yogurt. Still, it’s location and wonderful staff allows me to recommend it; just be forewarned if you book a 2nd floor deluxe room with a view if the sea for the reasons mentioned above.

Sansebay Hotel is extremely conveniently located in Donostia, close to the wonderful restaurants and bars in Donostia and the fashionable shops, with really great facilities, perfect for a relaxed time in San Sebastian. The staff at the hotel are really efficient and friendly and Requel at reception went out of her way to help, answer any questions and provide great tips on where to go and what to do.
