The last original villa on La Concha On one side of the window, one of the world’s most beautiful seaside promenades: La Concha Beach in San Sebastian. On the other, the intimacy and charm of an original 19th century villa: a luxury boutique hotel. On the one side, life, light, the sea and the salty breeze. On the other, a Michelin star, a pleasant stay and a welcoming corner in which to enjoy the passing of time. We were waiting for you.

We loved this small hotel from the moment we arrived. The hotel is beautifully decorated and is in a perfect location right onto the beach. Our room had fantastic views of the whole bay and beach and was very comfortable with a large comfortable bed and a pillow menu ! The breakfast was lovely with views out to the beach and had everything we needed. The bet thing about this hotel though are the staff . They were friendly , professional and always went the extra yard . Special thanks to Naiara and Alba . We will return

This is how a hotel stay should be. From the minute you arrive, you know the place is special. Genuinely warm, friendly and hospitable staff who are totally dedicated to your experience. The welcome cocktail on the terrace was an especially nice touch. Rooms are beautifully furnished with quality fittings, sumptuous bedlinen and unimpeded views over Bahía de La Concha. The housekeeping staff are like ninjas- we enjoyed immaculately clean rooms but hardly ever saw them! But when we did, they were super friendly as were all the staff. The bar is chic, and on fine days you can enjoy your drinks on the terrace overlooking the bay. The location of the hotel is ideal. Directly in front of the beach, and a short walk to the old town to enjoy the superb local pintxos and wine. (Ask the staff for the excellent pintxos recommendations.) Breakfast is leisurely with a nice selection of options. We didn't dine in-house, but if you choose to, it is a Michelin starred restaurant. Small, chic and effortlessly professional. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Hotel Villa Favorita was definitely a favorite of ours in Spain. Right on La Concha Bay with beautiful views of the water. We visited with our son & his girlfriend in November. The service was exemplary. Communicating with the Concierge before our visit made check-in easy. They assisted with making dinner reservations, asked what time we would be arriving so our room would be ready & even parked our car for us. I would describe the decor as elegant & sophisticated. The location was perfect….right on the promenade & close to Old Town. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Tucked into the heart of San Sebastián with boardwalk access to La Concha lies Villa Favorite which is aptly named given the gorgeous views, intricate hand painted walls, and beautiful touches making this place truly a favorite of mine. Arrival at this hotel was simple with clear instructions on where to pull up to the hotel. After bringing our bags inside, we were greeted by friendly staff who whisked our car away to a garage and then we were brought on a tour of the hotel. We received a welcome drink of our choice at the bar which was delightful and were able to walk to old town for dinner which was only a 15 minute walk. The hotel is truly stunning, and every single detail has been thought of. The rooms are beautiful with unique details, and the hotel has a wonderful mix of technology to combine the old and new. The service at this hotel is impeccable, and probably the best service we have ever had at a hotel. The best example I can provide is that there was a power outage the day we checked in, and when we were shown to our room, it was a bit warm. Our hotel staff immediately recognized this without us mentioning it and called the electrician to fix it, and our room quickly cooled down. When we mentioned it later to the staff, it was only then that they shared the details. They truly anticipate the needs of their guests, and when staying here, it is a complete joy. Breakfast was also lovely and we sat outside and watched the world go by after a morning stroll along the beach. We were here during off season and it was still warm, but the beaches were empty. When it was time to check out, the process was simple and we were shocked to find that the hotel staff had already pulled our car up which was waiting for us directly outside. Our entire stay was perfection, and we hope to be back one day!

1969 de Villa Favorita The view from our 5th floor room was fantastic. And San Sabastian is an amazing and beautiful destination. But don’t stay here. Unfortunately, but for the view, the hotel does not have the depth of staff required to make this hotel excellent or even good. I will provide a few examples below. The rooms are typical for Europe and very small. They tried to upgrade the tech and add auto blinds next to the bed, but one of our room controls did not work so you had to get up to adjust the shades by the window anyway. So at that point, a typical curtain would be better. The faucets in the shower were an attempt at modern but were challenging and complicated to work. The toilet is Japanese tech and nice. It had a bidet. A couple of examples of the staffing issue. First, we had an early morning flight and went to the lobby at 6:45 am. We had made arrangements for an early driver and for the hotel to package us a breakfast and coffee. The breakfast idea was the hotels when I had them make arrangements for the driver. When we came down to the lobby exactly at 6:45 am, no one was there. The car came and I went out to get our luggage in and the Electonic door closed behind me. The problem is that the door locked behind me and I could not get back in. Terrible. My wife came and moved in front of the motion detector to get the door to open. I made sure she did not get locket out too, or she would have. (Double doors) The lobby person came with coffee and apologized for not being there and said she was making the coffee. She also said that the breakfast was not ready yet. She left. We waited ten minutes. We rang the bell. She never came back so we left for the airport. It was supposed to be a croissant and yogurt. It was not a cooked order or anything complicated. So that sucks. They should not have offered breakfast. Once they did, it should have been ready. They knew we had a flight and had booked the car for us. The second item has to do with integrity of the hotel. We had our laundry done by the hotel. We expected it to be expensive. We had them wash a handful of underwear and socks, a few workout clothes but no nice clothes. The room did not have a price list by the laundry. We told the person at the desk that there was no pricing list when my wife dropped off the laundry. You can and should expect it to be expensive in a hotel for laundry but this was outrageous. They must have charged for each sock. The bill was 132 euro (about 150 dollars) for one load. I could have bought new what we washed for less than that amount. I complained and the first person did nothing but say the price list is there and I carefully explained that it was not there. Later, the hotel adjusted the bill to $114 dollars when I complained to a different person, who was very nice but said she couldn’t adjust it more. I don’t usually write negative reviews, but feel we were cheated. I don’t like that feeling!!!! And it’s bad business. It was the hotel’s error, and I thought it would be 50 or 60 bucks, the cost is not a thing to me - and I feel blessed about that- but the cheating is a thing. It first it seemed by design, but I think it’s in line with the other service and staffing issues. Another example of a system and staffing failure: We used the hotel robes on the first day. They took those to wash and did but put them back. So we had to ask for them again. Overall, I cannot recommend the hotel. But it does have an amazing view if you can get the Electonic blinds to raise. So this Favorite hotel is not my favorite.

Celebrating our 20 year anniversary in San Sebastian. This is a Wonderful hotel. Great location. Beautiful room with ocean/town view. Super comfortable bed and pillows. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast which is included was delicious. If you have it in your budget to eat at Amelia (Michelin star restaurant in hotel), it's a MUST. Best meal we had in San Sebastian and we did a few Michelin star places.

Commanding view of sea from second floor room. Modern. Outstanding breakfast. Hipe vibe but not over the top. Best part: the front desk guy who explained every device and outlet in the room, and provided great dining recommendations, and showed extraordinary patience with us. He made the three night stay especially memorable.

My family and I stayed here for four nights. It was probably my best hotel experience to date - little beats boutique hotels, and Villa Favorita in particular. Considerate and caring staff, attentive to details. The rooms were spacious, modern, and clean. We had rooms with balcony in the top floor, and enjoyed a nice view of the bay in San Sebastian. The breakfast was 10/10 with a spread of croissants, toast, eggs to order, fruit, yoghurt and granola, coffee of your choice ++. A big plus that the hotel has a bar with seating out towards the beach, which also serves snacks/lunch - lovely both for the morning and afternoons. Location wise, it’s perfectly situated along the beach, also closely to the old town.

Villa Favorita in San Sebastián was without question the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The decor, cleanliness, was exemplary. The position close to the city and old town, right on La Concha beach, was perfect. But the staff made it the most perfect experience of our lives. We will never forget you, we feel totally in awe of our experience.

We visited the Hotel Villa Favorita in San Sebastian for five nights at the end of April. San Sebastian is a lovely city and one of the food capitals of the world. There are eight Michelin starred restaurants - three 3*, two 2* and three 1* and a huge number of other restaurants and Pintxo bars. The Villa Favorita has a 2* restaurant - Amelia - on the lower ground floor, covered in a separate review. The hotel is beautifully situated in the middle of the promenade on La Concha Bay, so has wonderful views over the bay. The owners, who also own the Hotel Londres, a much larger hotel only 200m away, bought the last remaining privately owned villa on the promenade just before Covid and have converted and expanded it into a beautiful boutique hotel. There are 23 rooms, mainly sea facing, and a striking bar area where breakfast and light lunches are also served. Our room on the top floor had a terrace and was very comfortable and modern with a very well equipped bathroom and a raft of high tech features for controlling lighting, blinds etc. Wi Fi was blisteringly fast at over 200 Mbps download and upload, the fastest I have ever seen in a hotel. A great hotel is only a building, however beautiful, without wonderful staff and the team at Villa Favorita were simply exceptional. From the front desk/concierge team of David, Olatz, Alba, Alazne, Naiara and Ale, nothing was too much trouble and everything was a pleasure. The bar/restaurant team were excellent too. We are fortunate to have stayed in some lovely hotels, but this was exceptional. We will return!
