Just arrived back from Palma having stopped at the HM Balenguera, the only tiny issue we could have with the hotel was its location, it is approx. 20-minute walk to the front, though this is along one straight road all the way down, though this was part of why we chose it but it was perhaps slightly further than we had thought, though you can walk half down then take a left which will take you on to Jaime 111 avenue which takes you straight into the heart of the city. Other than that the hotel and its staff were fantastic, we couldn't fault anything, the breakfast was good and in a communal style, non-formal setting which was great, all the usual options, cereals, cold meats, cheese, bread, hot food, pastries, tea, coffee, etc. Other reviews complain about the rooms, we did find some of the issues that people mentioned, limited storage, etc. but this certainly didn't bother us nor ruin our holiday we just dealt with it. The hotel is a modern take on traditional Spanish cave houses, so all the lines are soft and round as though sculpted from stone, with solid white walls the pool is small, which we were informed of by reception at check-in, personally if you wanted a hotel with a proper pool, etc. you wouldn't be looking at this hotel in this location, maybe something more towards the harbor. When checking out we asked if reception could order us a taxi for 8.30 which they did without hesitation, the taxi was at the door at 8.35, which was perfect and not under the control of the hotel, all in all, I would highly recommend the HM Balenguera and would definitely stop there again if we were to return to Palma. Muchos gracias to all the staff for making our stay so wonderful.

A fabulous boutique hotel ideally located on the outskirts of the city. A gentle 15 minute walk from the tourist hotspots and the city centre. The hotel is modern, clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room we had - a junior suite- was very well designed and comfortable. Great bathroom arrangement, separate sitting area with facilities for making tea/coffee, a super terrace for relaxing outside and the most comfortable bed ever!

Room was very basic! Smallest shower room ever! No drawers! Tiny hanging space! Room smelled damp! Air con was ok but would reset itself to higher temp! Window doesn’t open! Very small pool! Check out 12 noon (night flight home & no facility for proper shower before leaving!). No comfy seating areas. Staff very friendly. Could order drinks & food which got delivered to pool area (where there aren’t enough beds but we were lucky in that respect) had to go down from pool to room to use toilet. Got pool towel from reception leaving deposit. Could’ve gone that with kettle too but didn’t bother. Good selection of complimentary drinks in room on arrival - had to pay to replenish stocks incl water! (didn’t bother as little shop next door sold water, drinks, ice creams). Great selection at breakfast…… but this is not a 4 star hotel!! & it’s about 20/25 min walk into central area - poss just a tad too far out for a city break. Not disability friendly.

This hotel has been marketed as a boutique hotel. I do not feel that this is an accurate description. It is more a hostel than a hotel. Basic rather than minimalistic. There were no draws for smaller clothes. I had to ask for a kettle in the room which is normally standard and the pool is really tiny! There were a handful of sunbeds on the small roof top and no room for any more. Totally insufficient for the number of potential guests. The towels were of an inferior quality and the rooms really noisy from the road. There was no bar area or cosy seating areas. Breakfast was served in the lobby area.

Spent 3 nights here & enjoyed our stay. Quirky hotel & we found all the staff friendly & helpful. Breakfast good & nice selection. Yes rooftop area is small but it is a hotel in a city so not surprising. Walk was about 15 / 20 minutes to the old town & about 10 minute walk to Santa Catalina area for great food & drinks.

Sister hotel much better. Just left a not great stay. The hotel is modern but needs some tlc. Pool is tiny and there is a lack of facilities. Our room wasn’t ready early and then when we got the keys stunk of bleach. Bed uncomfortable, furniture in room needs tlc.staff need more training to prevent errors.

Hotel was situated outside city centre. It has done well with the space. The rooms are clean and have all you need. Breakfast was quite basic but did the job. The pool area was very small but still a bonus for a city hotel. All in all, perfect for a city break.

Room Tip: Pool area is limited, so don’t count on spending a day there. If you get a bed, it is lovely.

Not good at all! Rooms tiny and bathroom non existent. Was a sing in room. There was a tiny space to hang a few items clothing but no draws at all! Room felt very claustrophobic. There was no bar round the bathtub they called a pool and only a couple of Sunbeds. Oh along with a vending machine that didn’t work. I go to Palma a lot and have never stayed in the area and never would again. For what we paid I expected much much more. I complained to receptionist but was told I needed to see the manager. I eventually spoke to her but she took the words from my mouth and said she knew of the issues as she had heard it all before and that the owner would take it in to account when it is refurbished. It totally spoilt my holiday to be fair.these are only two pics I have! Any way……to anyone thinking of going …..DONT!

A bit overpriced when it came to both the rooms, pool and the service. Definitely expected more. No bar/restaurant service by the pool (they had a vending machine lmao) and only 5 sunbeds. The staff were a bit hard to communicate with. Overall a very avarage experience for a not worth it price. A positive was the actual hotel though, it looked nice and the architecture was interesting!

Intimidating receptionist!!!! After arriving back to my hotel in the evening, we asked the receptionist if he could please order a taxi, to which be produced a typed piece of paper which stated THEY COULD order a taxi, but not responsible for the wait time. We said this was ok & asked him to please order one, to which he rudely responded that he wouldn't! We asked again & he just gave us the piece of paper, we pointed to the text that said WE CAN ORDER A TAXI, he still refused, barely looking at us & watching his mobile phone which seemed to have loud music on. I tried to get his attention but just kept saying it was impossible! This is now 1am & my mum is stranded trying to get back to her resort. My mum phoned her own taxi, they rang back 10 mins later & asked why she wasn't there, it seems they had gone to the wrong hotel. I then asked if the receptionist could speak in Spanish & explain the correct address, he took my phone & spoke for almost 5 mins, then passed the phone back, I asked if they were coming & he shook his head, I then asked what did they say & he said he wouldn't tell me!!! I asked him again if he could tell me what they said & he just shook his head, all the time being aggressive & not even looking away from his mobile phone & completely refusing to even acknowledge our presence, let alone our question. After I eventually sort my own transport out, which I may add, arrived in 5 mins! He then asked for my daughter's name & room number as she walked back in alone after seeing me into a taxi, to which she found threating & aggressive, she should of been meant to feel safe that there was a night porter on as she was staying at your hotel alone!! But she felt intimidated by this member of staff! We appreciate that is not your sole responsibility to order taxis & we appreciate that this was a busy time in the region of Palma, but to be treated in this manner by a rude, aggressive member of staff is not acceptable. You are an expensive 4* hotel, with a boutique style offering, this WAS NOT what you are portraying by this staff member. I have never been spoken too like it before, this made us both upset & very distressed. After yet another incident (pool night), it seems we were not the only guests he was rude too! It got to the point my daughter had to record the conversation with the staff member because she felt intimidated! On the other hand, when I raised this complaint, the staff were lovely and couldn’t apologise enough. They provided me with an email to send the details to but I haven’t heard back as of yet. Good location if you take away the rude staff member who enjoyed intimidating a young girl. His name was Miguelito. The rest of the staff could not help enough. Good room everything I needed and more.
