Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay here in March 2024. Very easy to reach via a taxi from the airport. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our visit, including storing our bags on the last day. The hotel itself was spotless and our room was cleaned every day no matter what time we left the room in the morning. Cannot comment on the food as we always ate out (cafes and restaurants within a minutes walk and about a 15-20 minute walk to the harbour), but there was a different buffet menu offered each day which you could view the menu in the lifts each morning. You cannot stay any closer to the beach, just over the road. Rooms with balconies overlook the sea and the rooms at the back (where we stayed) overlook a school but have incredible views of the hills and patio doors that open with a balcony rail. Very quiet at this time of year and no noise disturbance in the night, I had some of the best sleep in years! Great coffee machine in the reception area for less than a Euro and the bar/café area was great with some outdoor seating. Definitely looking forward to going back soon.

The location on the seafront is amazing right next to the beach. It is a functional hotel - expensive for what you get. Clean pleasant, the back rooms in the fourth floor are quiet. It is a bit tired and needs a facelift but as explained functional for a night stay. Had to book two rooms as didn’t have availability for four persons in a family with children over 12 YO. Did not take breakfast as so many nearby cafes.

Had to stay here due to emergency admission to hospital. The room small and dated it suited our needs, staff very helpful to my husband as he had to extend our stay and used this hotel. Breakfast was very good and the location was good

The rooms to the front do have a balcony overlooking the sea, the rooms to the other side of the building have a Juliet balcony overlooking the mountains and the city, which personally, I felt was the poorest capital city I have visited in Spain. The rooms in the middle don't even have a Juliet balcony! I wasn't in them but they surely get all the noise carried out through the inner courtyard, the people on the corridors, talking guests, suitcases carried... The rooms per se are fine, spacious and clean. If you are having to find a hotel in the capital, then this is perfect, otherwise, look a better accommodation place. The breakfast is alright... the coffee is poor quality. There is no pool, but the beach right opposite is great. the wifi is fine to be fair, maybe a bit shaky in the evening when all guests are using it. Out of the staff members, Alex (reception) is the best and the guys at the breakfast bar; but others are not committed to provide a good service to the guests (avoid the reception manager at all costs, she has some attitude issues, especially for this type of business). The worst part of being a city hotel is the location of the garage, which is nearby... but logistically, it's a nightmare.

Response from Diamar Lanzarote, Dueño at Hotel Diamar
Responded 14 Dec 2023
Thank you for sharing your experience at the Hotel Diamar Lanzarote. I’m glad to hear that you found the rooms to be fine, spacious and clean. It’s great to know that the hotel is located near the beach and the wifi is fine. However, I’m sorry to hear that the coffee quality was poor and the garage location was inconvenient. We take your feedback seriously and work to improve service to staff members. Thank you for being our guest!

Had an internal room which was well equipped with a fan, fridge, hair dryer and toiletries. Maid service every day. The extremely large flat screen television only had Spanish channels! We were in for just bed and breakfast for seven days, but the breakfasts were very good - the orange juice is highly recommended. Plenty of choice for a cooked or cold breakfast. Beach is just over the road and the swimming is good. All staff were professional and very obliging. We are planning to stay there again when it is a bit cooler!

Although hotel was advertised as by the beach it was in fact on a busy main road. We requested a sea view so had loud traffic to put up with day and night. The other view round the back was also a busy road. The room although clean needed maintenance and was very dated. Shower screen cracked, shower hose broken so water leaked, toilet flush broken. No hot water for longer than a minute then it would go cold and then just dribble out. Breakfast was €9 we tried it once it was awful stone cold food, dismal room to eat in. Staff were friendly and would help wherever possible. There were cafe’s and cocktail bars up the road. No sun beds now on the beach since Covid, beach was very clean but very rocky. We loved Arrecife but would not return to Diamar for a relaxing holiday.

The reception staff were welcoming and always helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and our balcony overlooked the beach. We sometimes ate there and always got coffee in the morning and the staff were always friendly and accommodating. The lovely room cleaners came every day if you wanted although we didn't have them that often. The lift was clean, efficient and always worked.

My parents are on holiday at the moment at this hotel my sister as been dealing with on the beach holiday company who they booked it with. They have paid for half board the food is not edible this hotel is definitely not for pensioners its more like a weekend break like a travel lodge the management can't even speak English they are banging there heads against the wall On The Beach are just saying speak to the hotel management just brushing everything under the carpet. You can't use the beach no sunbeds no pool at the hotel they have a sister hotel Lancelot but will not let them go for food at there hotel. If anyone wants a holiday at this hotel there's nothing there and definitely not for pensioners and and families unless you speak Spanish thats the real pictures of the hotel not whats on the website showing all this lovely food and pool which is at the sister hotel it only fits around 10 people.
