After booking the hotel sent a little video of how to find them and how to find the public parking they have agreements with. This was very useful. Check-in was quick and the reception staff were friendly and helpful and the twin room was fine .. if a bit small, but we have had smaller!
Breakfast was fantastic, with a terrific selection of cold meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit, breads and pastries as well as hot food.
The room walls were thin so we could hear everything from next door rooms, but despite being in the heart of the action the hotel was surprisingly quiet and no outside noise. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Very disappointed in the size of our double room… I nicknamed it The Cupboard… however I was informed that it was one of the biggest rooms!!! We were offered a triple room for one night only but would have to leave early the next morning as it was booked out… no point in taking it… however to our knowledge it was never used. Our outlook was a brick wall and as our room number 102 was on the ground floor we constantly had people walking past in the tiny alleyway between us and the building opposite… so we had to keep the curtains closed permanently for privacy.
I will say that the hotel was very clean…couldn’t fault that… and the breakfast room was spectacular to look at….. but at dead on 8.00pm it shook with the excavation site which was adjacent… the drilling was intense!! The food was perfectly fine except for the eggs and bacon… so disappointing as it looked like the bacon was uncooked but covered in grease and the fried eggs were way over cooked but swimming in oil. The hygiene was however superb as we were all issued with a set of tongs which HAD to be used.
Sadly the roof restaurant and bar were closed on our first night of arrival… the second night it closed at 9.00 pm and the third night it would have been lovely to dine there but it was all set for a wedding… we all ate out each evening… with a coach party of 50 people.. it was their loss as there were plenty of alternative venues close by.
This hotel was home for 3 nights… would I go back… sadly the answer would be …. No.

We stayed 2 nights and were very happy with the Carlos V. It is an interesting old hotel but has been kept up to date reasonably well.
From best to not so good -
The breakfast food selection and quality
Location, in the middle if town
Quiet, we could hear anything from the street or other rooms.
Bed was good
Room was too warm even with the thermostat all the way down
Pillows weren’t all that comfortable
Coffee at the breakfast buffet was out if a machine and not so good.

Great boutique hotel in an excellent location right in the heart of old Toledo. Very short walk to excellent restaurants, main shopping district, and all of the attractions. Historic on the outside but modern on the inside. Rooms were typical small Europe but very efficient with comfortable beds, lots of plugs, nice bathrooms and large floor to ceiling windows that open to a quiet alley. Very cool rooftop lounge with great sunset and evening views over the city and tasty craft cocktails. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Discounted parking at two lots just a short walk from the hotel.

The location of our hotel was absolutely fabulous, The hotel was centrally located and the room was gorgeous, our beds were comfortable and we had all the comforts we needed. Not only were we walking distance to the beautiful cathedral, but the view from the top of the Azotea Restaurant on the top floor of our hotel was out of this world. The food and drink were superb. The concierge was so cordial and helpful in giving us guidance with parking, sightseeing, etc. I would gladly stay at this hotel again.

The pay parking is a bit distant from the hotel so be wary of bringing too much luggage as Toledo is not flat and climbing with suitcases can be cumbersome. The hotel does

I would highly recommend this hotel for visiting Toledo. The location in the old city is excellent, the hotel is charming with very comfortable and clean rooms, elevator, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet is well worth the 12 euros, and is in a beautiful room. The rooftop bar has lovely views over the city. You can park in the fee lot in the lower city and get to the hotel easily from the escalator, or the hotel offers discounts if you park in the nearby parking garage.

Always a great stay here. The entire hotel is clean and well cared for. Each room is unique in its layout. Azotea, the rooftop bar/restaurant, is a great feature of this hotel. You have a beautiful view of Toledo that you won't get anywhere else. The drinks and food were good and reasonably priced.
My negatives are, the heat is difficult to control so the only way to keep our room from getting too hot was to have the window wide open. Also, although the breakfast food quality is very good, they were a little slow on replacing the scrambled eggs. Neither of these is a reason to not go back. This is our go to hotel in Toledo and we visit there yearly.

Situated close to the Alcazar and easily accessible from the station, this hotel is in handy walking distance to all the sites of Toledo. The room was a reasonable size, the bed a bit firm but sleep quality was good. The buffet style breakfast was very good. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful.

We spent 1 night in the Carlos Hotel as part of a tour group. It is a compact hotel located within the old city within easy walking distances to most have to sees. The room was very small, the bathroom was tiny, the wi-fi was good. Unfortunately we lost all power to our room. The was not able to be resolved so they upgraded us to a larger room which sorted out the space problem as well. . The breakfast was very good.

The parking garage is about 300 meters walking distance from the hotel. I believe you could drive the same route from the hotel to the garage.

The AC was not on in April when we stayed for 2 nights. We were a little too warm one night. There are thermostats in each room. Since we did not use the AC, I have no idea if they regulate it. I would assume that the AC would be on in August. They are really good about responding to emails.

Do you have car parking
Answer from clarebear05
pennsylvania374 contributions90 helpful votes
They do have a car park just around the corner from the hotel. Be warned, it's much easier if you have a small car because Toledo streets are extremely narrow. The Carlos V website has a handy video showing the easiest route to take to their hotel. It's pretty easy to find considering Toledo is a maze of streets.
