Booked online for a great price. Stayed in a six person room, small, but I was only there to sleep. Very clean. I liked that the shared bathrooms were private, not like most hostels with mutliple showers and toilets. The sisters who own it are great and so are the staff that work there. Perfect if your from the US...

I had little troubles this time in Barcelona, because I only had booked in advanced hotel for half time of my stay. I had no idea that in that time (10-17.02) in Barcelona was some big conference and literally all hotels were fully booked! from my search in www.booking.com I had 2 options: president suite for 1500euros or 1 bed...

I had a great experience at Somnio. The staff were incredibly friendly and really made me feel at home. The hostel is modern and clean with spacious dorms. There isn't much of a communal area for meeting people though I would really recommend it if you are travelling with friends or just want a good night sleep right in the...

Breakfast should be given an attention. Try to improve your menu even to pay more on your breakfast rate.

This was perfect for two couples with private bathrooms. Located in the heart of the city; we could walk to many things and the buses and metro were right there also. Very friendly and helpful with advice on things to do. Dorms looked very nice also but we used private rooms.

We stayed two nights in a room with a private bath, and one night in a room with a shared bath. Both were great! Rooms have a nice decor, very clean and modern. Baths are kept clean. Very convenient, safe location. The staff was very helpful, answering all of our questions and even finding some interesting activities that you would...

I stayed at the Somnio hostel in August 2009 with a friend and we enjoyed our stay. We're both in our early 30's and are married, so we're weren't looking for the typical loud, party hostel. Somewhere comfortable, clean and cheap and the Somnio fit the bill. The reception staff were helpful and friendly....good suggestions for things to do and...

We stayed here for 4 nights in a private room with shared bathroom bc the room with the on suite was booked. There was a 4 dorm room full of loud 30 yr olds next door to us. The walls were paper thin. We went out till 1am and wanted to get some sleep. 1am till about 5am, you could...

The hostel is a small one located on the 2nd floor of a 1900 building in Carrer de la Diputacio, 5 minutes from Plaza Catalunya. It is really in the heart of the city,...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
