I would only stay here again if it was for a short length of time such as a long weekend. The rooms are clean and spacious but not very comfortable, there is no air conditioning and our room only had one interior window. The location is the best part of this hostel. There are two metro stations nearby and the... More

Me and my girlfriend were met in good time from the pick up point [hard rock cafe] after we rang the poprooms staff. The rooms are located just off las ramblas and situated right next to catalunya metro so it's a perfect location for getting out and about in Barcelona. The reason this is a 3 star rating is because... More

Firstly, the location was excellent right next to both Placa de Catalunya and Las Ramblas and next to 2 metro stations (universitat and place catalunya.) The hostel itself was not where we expected and as others have stated there are clearly different buildings that ramcat uses. When we arrived at Ramcat we discovered that despite paying for a private bathroom,... More

You may have to wait to be picked up before check-in. It is a bit annoying at the beginning of your travel. Although the hotel person is really friendly and helpful, and the room is clean. And the location is great to walk around. Of course it is noisy outside, however you can sleep with the windows closed.

Similar to the very accurate review left by Phred M - I cant believe the great reviews this place has got. We travelled for like 9 hours to Barca, the host rang to meet us at the Hard Rock Cafe. (Why the hell we had to meet someone and be escorted to this place is strange and was beyond my... More

Great location, great staff all at a great price! I can't recommend this hostel enough, it's my favourite in Barcelona. The rooms are so comfy and despite the noise that is to be expected from this amazing central location, the rooms are so quite allowing for a great sleep. Love Barcelona and love this hostel, favourite place!!!

Hi All, I just wanted to let you all know that I booked this place last moinute as I leave everything until the last minute. I was very sceptical as everywhere else was at least €100-200 euro more expensive. Another strange thing was that you had to ring some1 and meet them to take you to the hostel (again I... More

My friend kindly organised out a contagion for our long weekend, and I don't think I could have chosen a better location! The hostel is a few paces from Las Ramblas, and is a great place for commuting as it's situated close to several metro stops. The front of the hostel was very discrete, there is no indication that it's... More

If there's a better price/performance ratio for an accommodation so centrally located, please let me know about it! After a few days on my own in Barcelona, some friends were joining me, so after some research, we chose to stay @ Apt RamCat. The communication when booking was prompt, and as several reviewers have mentioned, we were met in front... More

Stayed here two years ago (during the Volcanic ash fiasco). We were fortunate to be allocated a large room with a shared bathroom. There weren't quite enough blankets for a cooler time of year BUT the cost was so cheap and the location so good that it more than made up for it. One small issue was that one other... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
