We had the opportunity to enjoy the fabulous facilities of the Derby Suites complex in Barcelona during a stay of almost 2 weeks. To describe the facilities as "excellent" is an understatement. I will try to summarize the points that impressed me the most: 24h reception: The reception staff literally goes out of their way to help their guests so that everything they need is covered. Check in is facilitated by a web form that the client receives prior to arrival. The process is quick and efficient. Our flight arrived early (7am) and we requested an early check-in, which was granted. It was a great relief to be able to rest after such a long trip. This service is not always available, but it can be requested and the front desk staff will do their best to help. Otherwise, they will kindly store your bags and make sure the apartment is available as soon as possible. Needless to say, the reception staff are fluent in several languages and are extremely professional, friendly and helpful. We are very grateful for all their help and kindness. Housekeeping service: both myself and my partner are big travel lovers. We have traveled to different countries and cities all over the world. We have NEVER encountered such a strict and efficient housekeeping service. If you travel frequently, you will know that since the appearance of COVID, many establishments have decided to avoid cleaning in apartments and hotels, offering at most a change of sheets or towels once a week if the traveler's stay is of such duration. But here they will change towels every day, will wash the dishes or put the dishwasher on if necessary, beds are made every day. The client is getting a hotel service, even though Suites are apartments. What's more, once the cleaning is done, a supervisor will visit you to check that everything is to your liking. If you don't want the service to come too "early", just hang the "do not disturb" sign. They will come later. I was very impressed with this service. Thank you very much! Pets: On this occasion, we traveled with our pet, a 10 year old dog (Yoko). Upon arrival, Yoko was greeted with a comfortable bed and a welcome set with various toys and treats. We were speechless. Derby suites takes "pet friendly" to another level. I'm sure I'm leaving a lot of things out, but I want to re-emphasize that Suites by Derby is one of the best (if not the best) apartment complex that exists in the city of Barcelona. A 10/10 in facilities, staff and services.

If you need a kitchen equipped suite in central Barcelona, this would be a perfect choice. The facilities are really top notches with a central location in a great shopping/restaurant area. I would rate the suites and the hotel as 4 1/2 stars, much better than your typical 4 star. Our suite was located at the back with a view on the courtyard, very quiet and when at night you lower the shutters you cannot hear any outside noise. The kitchen is well equipped (oven/ range/diswasher/ expresso/ electric kettle etc) with even a wine cooler. However a bit strange there was a missing important item in my one-bed room suite kitchen: no microwave. I would suggest they replace the wine cooler with a microwave as this would be more practical for tourists. Daily housekeeping is a bonus as often suites do not offer this. A small detail, for some reason the maid does not refresh the dishwasher soap and organic container garbage bag in the kitchen, so be prepared to ask for it. Everything is very clean and excellent quality. Would certainly recommend. (The value was excellent but then it was September and it was on sale on Expedia so totally worth it under the circumstances)

This property is nearly always the choice of selection when in Barcelona, and the main reason is the level of service provided from their management all the way through their staff. Always quick in responses, always professional and always willing to assist.
Then there is the obvious, location is excellent, right in the heart of everything. The rooms are spacious, offering much more than a hotel room, and the design clean. Room wise, have stayed in most that they offer, this time was at the rear gardens with a balcony, very nice. Spacious living area, good size bedroom, small kitchen and all the amenities needed.
Bed, good enough size, linens on the bed excellent and a few pillow options. My preference would be to have a better selection on the pillows, find them very narrow. Little more comfort wanted on that side, but a very minimal issue.
Two pools, ground floor, roof top (small) and a gym, parking is also available if booked via the hotel i believe.
This visit, the reduction in the full 5-Star is based on some of the guests in the room above me, just too noisy, banging, ringing bells late at night and generally just no respect for others in the apartment. Amazing how people staying in these properties (that are not cheap) have zero respect, think they forget where they are. Shame really.
Also, some drilling noise early in the morning, never went on for long, but seemed to be done at 730-am, for a short duration and then heard nothing.
Will always be back to this property.

You can hear and feel every metro train passing by from 5:30 in the morning till 1 at night. When train passes by glass shakes. Soundproofing is really bad! Pillows are cheap and extremely uncomfortable. Bathroom can be cleaner and the glass door next to the toilet makes it small and uncomfortable. Overall the sleep quality is bad, so if you want a good rest this hotel is not for you. Gym is a joke! Consider there is no gym.

Came with my nanny and 2 kids the concierge was so unhelpful i didn’t have cash for the deposit i asekd him to let us i. And them ho get the cash for the deposit only while the room is already paid fully laid he didn’t accept. I even asked him to keep my emirates id with him and ill go het money but he refused. Went to the room after my friend got me his credit card so we can keep the deposit.only one towel i. Luxury hotel in the heart of Barcelona! We booked to stay in a two bedroom apartment, which was perfect for a family of four. It consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a small kitchenette with a washing machine, which was very handy for the hot Spanish summer days! There are two pools in the hotel, one dipping pool on the rooftop, and a second longer pool on the first floor. The daughter loves her pool time in the longer pool, as that pool has no sun in the afternoon so none of the tanning adults want to use it (it's like her private pool). The hotel is close to 2 separate metro stops and across the street from Casa Mila. There is a large supermarket 5 minutes walk away, and plenty of top tier restaurants within 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Taxis were always available day and night right outside the hotel. Perfect for a family holiday!

We had a wonderful stay at Suites Avenue - in an unbeatable location, with incredible views of Le Pedrera, it’s facade is an architectural masterpiece by Toyo Ito.
The rooms were spacious and clean, the kitchen adequately equipped, and restaurants galore are within easy walking distance. If you are a light sleeper, an upper floor will be preferred.
Also, fyi in the 3 person room we stayed in (1 room with a king bed, 1 bedroom with a twin bed), the primary bedroom does not have a door between the bathroom and the bedroom, and there is an additional window between the 2 spaces. This was not an issue for us but could be if one person has to get up early and needs to turn the light on in the bathroom. I do not know if all the rooms are set up this way.
We utilized the washer/dryer and the kettle for tea. There is a fairly large refrigerator and so much wonderful storage in the apartment. The rooftop is a quiet oasis (in late September) as well.
We all loved the layout & location, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend and would definitely stay again when in Barcelona. A gem!
