Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is really relaxing place stay. Not too many other guests, great swimming pool, hosts with many tips to go out eating, places to visit and last but not least Hetty is a real wonderful cook. Light, tasteful at a good price. We really enjoyed our stay.

We recently stayed as Mas Xipres and cannot fault this wonderful B&B at all. It's in a stunning location, beautiful pool and grounds and the rooms are lovely and comfortable. More than anything it is the hosts, Hetty and Hendrick which make your stay the best you will ever have, not forgetting their lovely son Bart too. The whole family are involved in the running and are on hand for anything and are the most lovely people you will meet. There is not really much more I can add to the other wonderful reviews. Personally for us this was our first visit to Barcelona and it was quite a drive away from the city itself but locally to Mas Xipres there are many wonderful places to visit. We ate every night with the family as the food is so lovely and Hetty is such a great cook. It was wonderful to sit outside in the warm sunshine of an evening eating and drinking and just chatting away. Hendrick is such a character and has you laughing all night. We traveled with two teenagers too who were never bored..... there is the pool, outside table tennis and indoor games and darts. There is a lovely cellar where you can relax. After a long day out the kids were happy to chill. We have been to many big hotels and would never go back to that way of traveling again after staying at Mas Xipres and definitely hope to return very soon. We miss the lovely place so much.

We are a family of four and the last visit to Mas Xipres was our third and it was for a reason. Mas Xipres is a perfect base to visit Barcelona and its surroundings while staying in a breathtaking location, nature just out the door, full of history. All clean, perfectly restored and maintained. But above all this you will cherish meeting the owners- Hetty, Hendrick and their son and daughter. They are born to do this job, extremely nice, polite, interesting, always taking care of personal preferences of their guests. The great reviews are a result of a guest getting to stay in a historic property, close to numerous attractions, an easy 40-minute drive to Barcelona, being treated like family, eating perfect, diverse healthy dinners prepared by Hetty. All this for a very fair price that is a fraction of what you would pay to an average Barcelona hotel. We used to stay in Barcelona in the past, but would not even think about not choosing Mas Xipres again and again since our first stay. Already booked for next year.

Most exquisite stay-wonderful host family shared delicious meals with myself and guest. Perfect relaxing getaway with activities like hiking is one wishes to explore. I would suggest visiting here prior to getting into Barcelona. Would certainly visit again - I visited back in March 2016 but never had a chance to leave a well deserved review

Let me just start by saying that I am from Chicago, and my husband and I decided that we wanted to have a small wedding in Spain. Somehow my father-in-law stumbled upon Mas Xipres on the internet and it was the best decision we have ever made. As you can imagine, I was a bit nervous planning my entire wedding through emails and relying solely on the venue to handle all of the details. HETTY AND HENDRIK DID NOT LET US DOWN. This was hands down one of the best stays my family and I have ever had. By the end of our stay Hetty and Henny felt like family. The property is breathtaking, Hetty's cooking is delicious, the whole experience was just amazing. Their children even helped out with our wedding and our whole stay. It just felt so personal, like we were staying in a friend's home. If you are looking for a beautiful clean stay with great food and breathtaking views, this is the place for you. It is so quiet, relaxing, quite honestly it is a paradise. Mas Xipres made my wedding a fairytale, if I could give 6 stars I would. Thank you Hetty, Henny, Bart, and Marloes! xoxo

We stayed here 2 years ago at a friend's recommendation. Coming back to Spain, it was a "must do stop" because of the relaxed rural setting. The small surrounding towns are great for exploring especially on weekend markets. Hette and Hendrik are graceous hosts and treat you like family. They also offer excellent dinners served family style which us a great opportunity to meet guests with common interests.

That place is perfect and the hosts are simply wonderful. I wish I could have stayed longer. The mas has been so interestingly renovated, with a lot of taste. The park around it and the view from the suites is simply magical, very inspiring. It is so quiet and yet you don't feel alone; you can instantly feel at home there. Also, the drive to Barcelona is totally fine, it last between 45 minutes to 1 hour. I drove twice to spend the night there during a four nights stay, we were leaving at 6PM, then back at 1AM. Mostly highways and nice roads ; not a big deal. I was happy to stay there rather than in the city and would definitely book again.

As soon as we arrived we were made to feel welcome and like part of the family and Hetty's cooking at both breakfast and dinner was truly amazing. The property itself is so well maintained yet authentic it is truly a unique experience. After the hustle and bustle of visiting numerous cities during our trip this was a peaceful alternative that we enjoyed every minute of. Hetty and Hendrik thank you for a lovely stay.

After a quite intense year our little family found the perfect vacation retreat at Mas Xipres: tranquility, great hosts who know how to combine a homely atmosphere, scrumptious healthy food and discrete service. Our rooms were in the house - a hint of local charm with more than spacious bathrooms and were nicely cool when the heat reigned over the Catalan countryside. Next time (indeed next time, we will be back!) we will try one of the suites as the view from the back windows is just stunning. Hetty and Henny - your personal attentions and ability to anticipate what the guests want make you unique. This is not just a B&B holiday - it was just perfect ...
