Really good area and really helpful reception :) we loved it! Thank you for having us! Our suit was exactly in front of sagrada familia, we had wonderful room view. ♥️ also metro station was very close, we easily arrived to the airport. We advise there.
We booked fairly late so there were only 2 apartments remaining, the apartment suite in the main building, or apartment 6 which is the only one in a neighbouring building (all the others are in the same building). We opted for apartment 6, which is on floor 4 and was perfect for us. This building has a lift which the main building doesn't, we were really grateful for this after a lot of walking around the city. The roof terrace is on the top of the other building, but this didn't bother us as we had a fabulous view from our apartment anyway and in January there was less need to sit outside. It was nice though to open our patio door with view onto Sagrada Familia. As we are a family of 4 with 2 kids, we really appreciated the space - 2 bedrooms, one double one twin, and lots of comfy living space. The view meant we could relax at the apartment and eat in while still feeling we were very much in the city. There are good restaurants, bars and cafes nearby - we ate a good meal at Tuscania restuarant, Italian food being great for the kids although in Spain! Carrefour supermarket a couple of mins walk away had everything we needed for breakfast and lunch and a couple of evening meals in as well. Metro stop also 2 mins walk, so easy to get from the airport to the apartment and travel around the town but the area was quiet and being a few floors up from the hustle and bustle felt like a nice escape after visiting busier sites. The reception team were so helpful and friendly too, helping us with bags, maps etc. The apartment was clean had everything we could possibly have needed, we would definitely stay again - we are all keen to return!…
We stayed at Gaudi's Nest for five days at Christmas 2019. This place has many good things about it, but also things that could be better. First, the good. This is an apartment hotel, a small place with 8 to 10 apartments each featuring bedrooms, bath, kitchen, eating area, and living area. The view is spectacular! The windows look out on La Sagrada Familia -- I don't think I've ever had such a wonderful view. It's wonderful to wake up to it every morning. The apartment was very clean and nicely furnished. Every room was lovely and comfortable. The kitchen had a stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, and a clothes washer/dryer. All worked fine. We cooked our Christmas dinner there. The apartment had a very small safe, too small for a laptop but would work for jewelry. The building also had a roof-top terrace with deck chairs and tables. I spent a couple hours reading there one afternoon. Very nice. The location is excellent. Just around the block from La Sagrada Familia. There is a metro stop right there too, so very easy to access transportation. The metro system was very nice and seemed safe. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance, catering to the tourists at La Sagrada Familia. We ate at a couple of them, but were not impressed ... but it's still handy to have food nearby. We also shopped at the large market one block away, as well as a couple of corner stores very close by. The staff at Gaudi's Nest were very nice and helpful. Alexis checked us in, gave us a map of the local area and explained local shopping, food, transport. He carried our bags upstairs and showed us the apartment. Here are some of the negatives: 1. The stairs. The building does not have an elevator (which we knew in advance). The stairs are very narrow and steep. And, they start counting floors two levels up, so our third-floor apartment would have been considered on the 5th floor in the U.S. Anyone with mobility problems would not be able to stay here. 2. The noise! The walls in the building must be very thin, as we could hear every conversation in the apartment next to us and above us. The guests were loud and laughing long into the night. And the stairs are very noisy, so you can hear everyone going up and down the steep stairs and slamming their doors all day and night. Even in the bedrooms you can hear this. Perhaps carpet on the stairs would help? 3. The hot water in the shower was inconsistent. Two days we had no problems, but the other three days, we would have hot water for two minutes, then it would turn cold for two minutes, then back to hot. 4. We did have some difficulties with the internet. The first user name and password we were given allowed us to connect, but not have internet. When we talked to Alexis he gave us information to connect to another network and that worked a bit better, but was inconsistent. Overall, a good place to stay if you can navigate the stairs and don't mind noise.…
Highly recommended to all. This is an ideal location for touring. Our apartment was for a family of 5 and we had plenty of space for all. The apartment was very clean and well supplied. The HIGHLIGHT was our fantastic views of the Sagrada Familia everyday from our terrace windows. If you can manage the stairs there are breathtaking views from the roof. The staff Judit, Andrew, Carlos, Alexis and Arthur were so accommodating and kind to us.The staff really care about their guests. They were so helpful with suggestions and even my husband's scooter. You can eat a nice breakfast and diner at Arthur's place downstairs. This was the best place to stay, everything was thought of for your comfort.
Will recommend to all our friends! Fantastic views of the Sagrada Família from this perfect holiday flat. Nothing they have not thought of - even a socket for English plugs and spare ear plugs. So central and comfortable (if you can manage stairs). Very nice coffee place down the road that opens early (didn’t use the one recommended as not open on time). As well they rang us to warn about transport problems on the day of arrival and recommended taxi. This was excellent advice and we used taxis a lot despite having a travel card, as it was so convenient.
