This is not a trendy high end hotel, but we enjoyed our stay thoroughly! We had a balcony and we liked to leave the window open. it wasn't too noisy in that area, which was nice. There were plenty of restaurants and shopping in addition to banks/ATMs in the area so it's a very convenient spot for travelers. The bathroom...

It was late when we arrived. The old man at the register started talking to us in spanish which caused quite a confusion (he appears strict... I find him funny though)When all was finally settled and we wanted to freshen up a bit lo and behold there was a time when you can take showers! Good thing that does not...

If you expect a nice room: painted in trendy colors, designer furniture, Picasso's on the wall, a fully equiped private bathroom, and (satellite-) television so you can watch your sports, Fox News, and regular shows, please do not stay in this pension (you might even consider not visiting Barcelona at all). This pension is perfect for those you need a...

I really like the old man in the reception, talking to us very nicely. We had couple of small chat with him and liked it a lot. Perfect location, decent for the value of the money. It could have more showers. Because shower is quite far away from some of the rooms.

We stayed in room 127, it had a charming balcony however, the the blinds were plastic and did not block any street noise whatsoever. It is a clean property with comfortable albeit very small twin beds.

The Pension Lourdes is very much a budget guesthouse, and it's important to remember that. Our room was clean and had an atmospheric balcony window overlooking the alleyway, where we were open to the patter of passers by and could hear local life drifting in from surrounding life. The Pension is in the very centre of the Barri Gòtic -...

First the good, excellent location; right in the middle of the El Born area and some great bars around the area. Also takes about 20 minute walk to the beach. Also the staff were very cheerful in the day and the showers were pretty good and if you are sharing it will only cost you 21 euros a night. Now...

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
