Stayed in Acta Splendid last summer. Good room, excellet breakfast (but paid separetely). Reception crew has a good supporting in Spanish and English. One complain was the taxi driver they suggested when I left the hotel, really bad experience.
I stayed here in October 2019 - I had never been to Barcelona before. My wife and I & 2 daughters had a great stay. We booked a family room which was huge. We were very pleased with all aspects of the hotel: staff very friendly, excellent location. There was an ample choice at breakfast with nice coffee. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel, and would definitely come back here when revisiting Barcelona.
We’ve just got back from our city break and are absolutely gutted to be back home! This hotel makes you feel welcome the minute you walk in. Paul was so welcoming and went above and beyond to help us with transport, directions, anything we wanted; he is an asset to the hotel. The rooms are modern and a fair size for the amount of time you spend in them, the shower was amazing and better than my one at home! For me personally, I wouldn’t have the breakfast as there is not much selection, however you are so close to shops/restaurants that you’ll never be short of places to go to. You are easily within walking distance to Plaça de Catalunya and la Rambla, as well as the gothic quarter, which we explored all by foot. There are so many restaurants, shops and beautiful architecture to see, the hop on buses are regular and allow you to see it all. On our last day, the hotel were very accommodating and have lockers to hold your luggage until your flight which was so helpful; there’s also a lovely shower so you can freshen up. Overall, we had the best experience and I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you so much, see you again!…
We chose this hotel for our annual trip to Barcelona which this year was for 9 nights. The hotel is immaculately presented and in an ideal location. On arrival the staff couldn't have been more welcoming - no issue at all there. The big problem is the poor sound insulation in the building. Every night there was a lot of noise from other parts of the hotel which interupted our sleep. On the final night there were some other guests making a lot of noise all night and on our 6.00am check out we reported it. In fairness the member of staff we dealt with was very apologetic (to the point where he said if it continued that night the police would be called) but it has made us question whether we would stay there again. We could have complained every day about the noise but then it impactson enjoyment of the trip. Another issue was that one of our son's Birkenstock sandals went missing from the room on the third day. This was reported to reception and chased up with them several times during our stay but staff didn't seem overly interested in agreeing a solution. The monetary value of one sandal is very little but would the same attitude be evident if it was an expensive watch that had gone missing? We were very disappointed but, again, didn't overly pursue the matter as it would have impacted on our enjoyment of the trip. Now that we are home I would be interested to hear the hotel's thoughts on the points raised. We really liked the hotel and full marks goes for the welcome, presentation, decor, cleanliness - all are 10/10. It is just let down by the noise and something going missing. A real shame.…
I checked and reserved this hotel by booking.com. But when I arrived to hotel, I shocked. Because the room was looking more bigger and comfortable. But our room was so so small and there was no window. :( it is so bad situation and atmosphere. Anyway. We paid extra for breakfast. Breakfast was good and chef (she) was very friendly and keep smiling. She is more friendly and cute than Reception staff.!
