Been to this hotel for business recently and I must say I have been to better places within this class range (3stars). Room was really small, no kettle and basic supplies ( really basic). Plus staff really not helpful, I arrived slightly earlier than check in time ( which is 2 pm) they will not let me check in in...

Excellent hotel in a great location, if you have a low budget this one is perfect. Rooms small but comfy, breakfast good with everything you need. Very close to metro, lots of restaurants and bars nearby.

Booked four nights at the Caledonian for a romantic Barcelona break. The hotel is ideally located next to Universitat metro and is within walking distance of many city attractions. Staff were helpful and courteous throughout our visit. We stayed in room 609 on the top floor, clean and very nicely furnished, with its own outdoor terrace with wonderful views of...

Hotel is in a fantastic location, around a two minute walk from the Universatat metro, which is also one of the drop off points for the Aerobus. Its a five minute walk into Plata Catalunya, which is the centre point for everything you want to see in the city, La Rambla branches off it and also the Cathedral. The room...

Just returned from a five night stay at this well located hotel just a 25 minute journey from the airport. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. Room 102 was well maintained and clean with an excellent bathroom where towels were changed every day. Continental breakfast supplemented by scrambled eggs, bacon etc was served in a comfortable and...

We stayed in room 204 with 2 single confortable beds ,white clean sheets. The whole room is well renovated and the bath room is modern and extra clean. Hotel breakfast is a delight with choices for every taste from bread, eggs, bacon, viennoiseries, home made cake , delicatessen, fruit and yogurt. Though we don't see other rooms, the hotel is...

The location was perfect, near the metro station as well as near the center even by walk. The staff were friendly, they had on onsite car park, free WiFi and secure luggage storage. The room was really big, there was a balcony and the travel cot was perfect.

After reading several mixed reviews on here, we travelled open minded not knowing what to expect. Upon arrival which was off the airport autobus shuttle (which dropped us opposite) we were impressed with the reception area and staff which were to greet us. We requested a higher room on the rear of the property as I had taken the advice...

I spent three nights in the Caledonian Hotel for a work trip in mid-October and whilst this hotel looks good online my experience was rather different. I must state this review is only for room 605 which I had the misfortune of staying in and perhaps the rest of the hotel looks like the website suggests. The best place to...

Tiny single room at the back end of beyond, 6th floor. Clean and basic. Because of the laminate floor throughout corridors are echoey. Also noise from the main street. Nothing to recommend it. I have stayed in bigger and better rooms for half the price.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
