Pros: the price, location, and the ambiance of the room. Spacious and quite upscale. Cons: I don't think they changed the sheets once during our 5 night stay. Given the price, it tends to draw in a sketchy crowd. We waited almost every night during our stay to be let in the building. Sometimes even a half hour. It's good... More

We booked this at 4.30 pm on the day, after a disastrous experience at Hotel Lloret Ramblas, which we walked away from. We were so relieved to arrive at this lovely hotel. The staff were absolutely charming, it was 40 euros cheaper than the dump we had just left, we would definitely return to Operaramblas! Nothing was too much trouble,... More

Our room was very clean, modern, and had everything we needed. The room itself was spacious compared to other European hotels where we stayed in our previous trips. The front desk was responsive and helpful, though there seemed to be just one person holding the fort most of the time. The best thing about the hotel is its location: it... More

We were a little apprehensive about this accomadation due to the price (in comparison to others in the area it is very cheap), however it was perfect for our weekend city break. Extremely close to the metro, very clean and we paid a little extra for the superior room and had no problems with noise. Bathroom facilities are new. We... More

I have stayed at this place several times over recent years. In the past 12 months it has had something of a face-lift, with added bonuses like free wifi in the rooms. It is in a brilliant location for the Liceu - literally across the lane from the side entrance. It is not cheap, but is well priced for Barcelona... More

The location is superb, a few steps from La Ramblas, the metro, restaurants and bars. The room is small and very basic but clean though the walls are paper thin...you can hear people going to the toilet in the adjacent rooms so earplugs are a must. Hector on the front desk was lovely and very helpful. Very good budget hotel!

Great hotel, great value, they keep your luggage at the day of your departure. Clean and friendly staff. Very close metro access and in the middle of ramplas, that has everything you can imagine. New facilities and quiet at night. Feels really safe at night.

Location is great, the rooms are basic and the staff are really nice. BUT the walls are paper thin and there is no stopping the noise coming through from the other rooms and hallway. You will need ear plugs or be like most of the other residents and stay out till 2-3 am then come back to your room for... More

We went for the double superior room since it was still within our price range for more than just basic room. The room was quite spacious, clean and updated. The AC was great for cooling down after hot days out in Barcelona. We also REALLY appreciated the large sink and shower for doing mid-trip laundry. Location was great for walking... More

Just off La Rambla and very close to the Metro so perfect position. Rooms clean and tidy. Staff very helpful. Great value for money for the price we paid for the room. Would definitely stay here again. No English TV but you don't go to Barcelona to watch tv!!

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
